Who Let Him Cultivate?! (WX)-Chapter 554: Conclusion of the Immortal Sect Exchange
The Epoch Immortal returned to the North Star, only to find the commotion caused by the Everlasting Immortal Fairy and the dragon and phoenix prodigies growing increasingly alarming, making his heart race.
“Epoch, you’re back? How are Qilin and Heaven Mandate?”
The Epoch Immortal said solemnly, “It was the Heaven Mandate Immortal, that lousy chess player, who was cheating. I taught him a lesson. After that, they continued playing chess. When I left, both he and Qilin entered a state of enlightenment, as if they had discerned the five elements, bagua, heaven and earth, and yin and yang within the Five in a Row game!
“Since the Nine-Layers Immortal is the creator of Five in a Row, he is guarding them, so I came back first.”
“Eh, those two had such a fortuitous opportunity? Perfect timing, I’ll whip up something nourishing for them!”
Watching the Everlasting Immortal Fairy bustle about, the Epoch Immortal kindly reminded her, “Heaven Mandate especially needs extra replenishment. His enlightenment seemed particularly profound; he’ll need the largest dose!”
The Everlasting Immortal Fairy replied loudly, “Say no more! This is my specialty!” She rolled up her sleeves and tightened her headscarf, unleashing her full power.
Soon, the agonized wails of ingredients filled the air.
The Epoch Immortal smirked coldly. Heaven Mandate, who told you to call me ‘devious?’ Let’s see you survive this poisoning!

“So this is the immortals’ chess game? I feel like I can’t discern anything,” Meng Jingzhou muttered. He examined the chessboard from every angle but failed to pick up on the arcane wonders hidden by the two ancient immortals.
Tao Yaoye and Man Gu reacted similarly, utterly baffled.
Nonsense, Qiu Jin’an thought. Despite a hundred thousand years, our Five-Elements Sect hasn’t produced a second person who can perceive the historical projection. Did you expect to waltz in and see it immediately?
Lu Yang even yawned from boredom. Having just awakened from witnessing the historical projection, his mind was exhausted. For a moment, he couldn’t even distinguish where he currently was.
Before the Heaven Mandate Immortal’s group noticed the Everlasting Immortal Fairy, Lu Yang had watched twenty years’ worth of chess, though the process was accelerated by the Everlasting Immortal Fairy. Even so, the mental toll had been tremendous, not to mention that he had confronted the Four Ancient Immortals through the spacetime passage, bridging the past, present, and future.
Qiu Jin’an noticed Lu Yang’s behavior but didn’t dwell on it. Our founding ancestor immersed himself in the historical projection for a century—completely different from Lu Yang.
To outsiders, Lu Yang had merely lowered his head and yawned—a span of two to three breaths. No one would suspect he had viewed the historical projection. Though it was only because he had borrowed the Everlasting Immortal Fairy’s prestige.
After fifteen minutes, Qiu Jin’an asked cheerfully, “Finished viewing?” As I thought, nothing happened. The youngsters are just here for novelty’s sake.
Everyone sighed collectively. They had hoped to encounter immortal opportunities, or at least get a glimpse of immortals.
In the end, there was nothing.
“Immortal Fairy, wasn’t the message you sent too brief?” The Everlasting Immortal Fairy had only transmitted five words before the passageway closed due to unknown reasons. Lu Yang was worried their communication hadn’t worked.
“Rest assured. While those four’s intelligence falls short of mine, it still surpasses that of ordinary people. They’ll definitely deduce something and leave behind hidden measures.
“However, I still died. Their hidden measures probably weren’t meant for me but something else.”
“As long as it’s effective.”
Although he was privy to much of the Four Ancient Immortals’ dark history, enough to get himself killed easily, and the Qilin Immortal had even tricked him into eating dirt, Lu Yang still hoped the Four Ancient Immortals survived.
Li Haoran’s expression flickered in a daze. Gazing at the chessboard earlier, he had suddenly dozed off. In his hazy vision, he saw four figures in the immortal domain wielding heaven-defying power and dared not face them directly.
Then he woke up, blinking rapidly. “A dream?”
He struggled to recall the events in his dream and who the four figures were, but the memory grew blurry the more he tried to remember. “What just happened?” Li Haoran’s brows were knitted. He couldn’t help but sense something had transpired, yet upon closer thought, it seemed nothing had happened.
The group departed the immortal domain, unaware that a figure sat motionless atop the mountain summit like a statue. The figure lifted an eyelid, watching the group leave before drifting down and entering the immortal domain.
Finding the immortal domain unchanged, the figure’s eyes contained a trace of bewilderment.
“Strange. Did I see it wrong? Why does it feel like someone saw the historical projection just now?”
The figure shook their head and tossed this matter to the back of their mind.
It should be a figment of my imagination. How could someone access the historical projection without being immersed in it?

A month passed in the blink of an eye. Lu Yang’s group had gained much from their stay in the Five-Elements Sect—standing in position according to the five elements, cultivating at the grounds of the Five Branches, clearing their meridians, and organizing everything they had learned in this month.
Lu Yang cultivated at the Metal Branch and advanced from the Advanced Golden Core’s first layer to the second layer’s great perfection apex—a significant improvement in cultivation realm.
“Fellow Daoist Bai Ming, until we meet again in the jianghu!” Lu Yang and the others waved vigorously from their flying vessel.
The entire Five-Elements Sect turned up to see them off.

At the Dao-Seeking Sect’s breeding farm, sonorous Buddhist sounds reverberated through the air as the higher-ups of the Everlasting Creed swayed their heads and chanted.
“Within the primordial azure skies in times bygone, the blue firmament echoes vacant hymns, the vast floating land...”
After nearly a month of immersion in Buddhist teachings, they were no longer the same as they were before, especially the Everlasting Immortal, whose comprehension of Buddhist spells progressed by leaps and bounds. Had he not restrained himself, golden light would have radiated from his body.
“Benefactor Bu, your affinity with Buddhism runs deep. In time, you may even be able to join our Hanging Monastery.”
“You flatter me. All credit goes to your teaching, Little Master.”
The Everlasting Immortal and Shi Chan exchanged bows.
“Alas, my time here is up. This little monk must return to the slaughterhouse and comprehend the path of setting down the butcher’s knife and attaining Buddhahood on the spot.” Shi Chan sighed regretfully.
He and the Everlasting Immortal had bonded instantly, wishing they had met each other earlier. The Everlasting Immortal agreed with many of Shi Chan’s views. He’s much more open-minded than Shifu.
This is a benefactor with great wisdom!
Meeting Benefactor Bu alone made this trip to the Dao-Seeking Sect worthwhile! 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Under the influence of Buddhist teachings, the three Alluring Ghosts had smoothly advanced to the Golden Core Stage.
This was only natural. Although the Everlasting Creed’s higher-ups had been refined into tiger-henchman ghosts and denied cultivation resources, casual advice from them could overturn the three female ghosts’ understanding of cultivation; they wouldn’t even need cultivation resources. Combined with Shi Chan’s teachings, their souls underwent metamorphosis, and the progression to the Golden Core Stage automatically followed.
The Dao-Seeking Sect’s disciples felt that the flavor of the barbeque skewers had improved this past month.
Slaughtering livestock would inevitably transfer their lingering resentment into the meat. While true fire could drive it away, its effectiveness still paled to that of Buddhist methods. The creed leader and Vice Creed Leader Jin would chant Buddhist scriptures to dispel the resentful energy.
The Everlasting Immortal was over the moon when he discovered this method. “This is a great idea! I’ll find a chance to suggest it to the second-in-command and see if we can implement this chainwide!” This is proof of our active labor reform.
“Junior Brother Shi Chan, visit again when you get the chance. If there’s anything you need, I will make sure to fulfill it.” Dai Bufan personally saw Shi Chan off.
Learning his shifu was still alive, he firmly believed his virtuous conduct had reached Master Jiesha across space and moved him, thus saving his shifu’s life.
Shi Chan did have something he needed help with. “Senior Brother Dai, could you lend me some travel funds?”
