Who Cares About Him When I'm Married to the Richest Man?-Chapter 102: Jasmine Causes Trouble
Jasmine obediently sat in the back seat. Ever since Cecilia brought her back to the Jacobs Villa yesterday, no one had paid her any attention. There were no fancy clothes or pretty bags as she imagined. Kylie Dalton even arranged for her to stay in a servant’s room, which was a basement, pitch black inside and filled with clutter.
She clenched her teeth and endured the grievance, spending a long time cleaning it up only to cobble together a few small tables to make a bed, spending the night in such misery.
She regretted it the whole night, regretting not choosing Elara Hale, who definitely wouldn’t let her stay in this kind of place. She didn’t even get dinner.
However, unexpectedly, this morning, a gleaming man came before her, introducing himself as Mason Jacobs’ assistant, and that he would be responsible for all her needs at the Jacobs Family from now on.
Kylie was forced to arrange a bedroom for her on the second floor. She went to see it, and the bedroom, though called a bedroom, was actually very large, not only with an en-suite bathroom and washroom, but also a living room and study.
It was comparable to a whole apartment!
Special Assistant Wood handed her a card, saying it was a no-limit black card, and that she could buy whatever she wanted.
In addition, in this family, she also had access to a driver; she just had to contact the driver directly to go out.
It was all like a dream.
Jasmine held tightly to the black card in her pocket. When she came from the welfare home, she thought there would be sumptuous feasts, so she didn’t bring anything from there. At that moment, she was still wearing the clothes from yesterday, her only good outfit, which Cecilia had previously taken her to buy.
Thinking of Cecilia, her heart filled with resentment. It was all that woman’s fault; otherwise, she wouldn’t have suffered through the night, thinking she was someone remarkable, but unexpectedly she lived worse than a dog in the Jacobs Family.
Luckily, Uncle Jacobs was dependable, otherwise she would have been ruined by that woman.
Jasmine was planning in her mind that after registering at school, she would go on a shopping spree to buy all the pretty clothes, and from now on, change into a new outfit every day, becoming the shining little princess at school.
Thinking of this, she soon arrived at school.
Special Assistant Wood said that the school Mason arranged for her had top-tier educational quality in Northgarde. There were supposed to be exams and interview processes, but she was exempted and just had to directly see the principal. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
This is the power of privilege.
Jasmine got out of the car and followed Special Assistant Wood inside, her big eyes curiously and admiringly observing everything about the school, the tidy campus, the towering academic buildings. She had never seen such a beautiful school!
She didn’t know that at that moment, due to her lack of experience, her body was slightly hunched. Her proud new attire was seen as ordinary brand and style by the city kids, contrasting with her messy hair, making her appear rustic.
Her naive curiosity, akin to a country mouse in the big city, was even more pronounced.
She soon met the principal. Due to Special Assistant Wood’s presence, the principal merely asked a few simple questions despite being slightly surprised by Jasmine’s attire and arranged a class for her, having the homeroom teacher take her away.
Jasmine followed the homeroom teacher into the beautiful classroom, and the children in the class curiously watched her. After a simple introduction by the homeroom teacher, she was told to sit at the back.
Her desk mate was a cute-looking chubby boy, very popular in class. Curiously, he asked Jasmine, "Did you transfer from the suburbs?"
This question had no malice at all, as her attire and demeanor were out of place within the school. This is the top elementary school in Northgarde, the children have unusually high knowledge, and their qualities are just as high.
It was merely a friendly greeting for making friends.
Yet unexpectedly, Jasmine lost her composure, immediately displaying the attitude she had when bullying other children in the welfare home, stood up abruptly, and raised her hand to slap the chubby boy hard.
The teacher was writing on the board, and the classroom was quiet. The sound of the slap was particularly noticeable. Everyone looked over in surprise, and the teacher frowned.
Sternly, the teacher asked, "Jasmine, what happened? Why did you hit your classmate?"
Jasmine arrogantly replied, "Teacher, he insulted me."
The chubby boy was initially shocked, only now reacting, and cried out in grievance, "I didn’t, I was just greeting her!"
Jasmine glared at him, "You called me a country bumpkin!"
The little chubby boy felt extremely wronged, "I really didn’t, I just asked if you transferred from a suburban school, how could I be so harsh?"
Jasmine wouldn’t listen at all, fiercely said, "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. You think I have no one backing me? Well, I’m telling you, I belong to the Jacobs Family, the Jacobs Family in Northgarde, you know? If you dare bully me, I’ll have you kicked out of school!"
The chubby boy looked at her dumbfounded.
The teacher sternly ordered, "Jasmine, go to my office and wait for me."
The students and teachers at this school are all from wealthy backgrounds, and anyone attending such a school surely has some family connections. However, none have ever seen anyone as Jasmine, threatening others by flaunting her family’s status.
She’s just a first-grade child, yet Jasmine’s behavior was very troubling!
Jasmine was completely unafraid of the teacher, arrogantly responded, "I won’t go, I didn’t do anything wrong, why should I go? If you have the guts, go find the Jacobs Family!"
She thought the teacher wouldn’t dare, but unexpectedly the teacher contacted the principal immediately, asking for Jasmine’s parents’ contact information.
Coincidentally, Special Assistant Wood was here representing Mason Jacobs’ sincerity and hadn’t left after Jasmine entered the classroom, discussing the next scholarship naming rights with the principal.
This primary school is full of hidden talents. Naming a scholarship offers more opportunities to be noticed, whether at parent meetings or school award ceremonies.
Simply put, the Jacobs Family is a wealthy family, and the Jacobs Group is a business elite. However, above the Jacobs Family, there are even more elite families, and besides that, there’s politics.
This is a win-win opportunity.
The principal received the call at that moment.
In just a few seconds, his expression changed. He stood, solemnly instructed, "Bring the two students to me!"
Then, he hung up the phone, looking at Special Assistant Wood, his expression inscrutable. "Jasmine attacked a classmate in class, defied a teacher, and arrogantly asserted that she had the Jacobs Family backing her."
Special Assistant Wood’s expression immediately turned grim, hurriedly said, "Principal, there must be some misunderstanding, Jasmine isn’t that kind of child."
The principal didn’t express any opinions, merely said, "Let’s call them over and ask."
Jasmine and the chubby boy were brought to the principal’s office by the teacher.
Jasmine didn’t know that the moment they left the classroom, the other children gathered together to defend the chubby boy. The chubby boy is particularly popular with classmates, and Jasmine’s slap coupled with her arrogance made everyone dislike her, and they agreed not to play with her in the future.
She was isolated on her first day at school without even realizing it.
Facing the principal, Jasmine’s arrogance finally eased a little, but she still insisted that Chubby Dawson had insulted her.
Chubby Dawson repeatedly denied it, while Jasmine looked towards Special Assistant Wood with reddened eyes, appearing as if she was bullied but didn’t dare to say much.
Special Assistant Wood also found the situation difficult; it seemed likely that Jasmine was the one at a disadvantage. After all, she was President Jacobs’ adopted daughter. He hesitated for a long time before calling Mason Jacobs.
However, Mason Jacobs didn’t care much about it and told him to handle it fully on his own.
Special Assistant Wood deliberated over the meaning of "handle it fully," which should mean to protect Jasmine no matter what means are employed.
As Special Assistant Wood thought about this and looked at the principal, who glanced at him awkwardly and said, "Well, Special Assistant Wood, why not let Jasmine apologize, and we can let this matter go?"
Jasmine bit her lip and stubbornly said, "I didn’t do anything wrong, why should I apologize?"
Special Assistant Wood also shared this sentiment; regardless of whether Jasmine was wrong or not, she must be protected, both for President Jacobs’ sake and the sake of Jacobs Group.
The principal looked at him, realizing he hadn’t understood the hint, and shook his head helplessly, deciding to be frank. He glanced at Chubby Dawson and said to Special Assistant Wood, "This child is named Dawson, his family is with the Ministry of Finance and Commerce."
Special Assistant Wood’s mind sparked with a realization.
The Dawsons, there was only one high official with the surname Dawson in the Ministry, and that was Director Dominic Dawson, who was newly appointed this year.
Did Jasmine bully Chubby Dawson, the son of Director Dawson?
Special Assistant Wood immediately broke out in a cold sweat; the Ministry of Finance and Commerce manages all the commercial activities nationwide.
Not to mention, the two land plots Jacobs Group wanted approval for this year were at the discretion of the Ministry.
He saw Chubby Dawson out of the corner of his eye, making a phone call, with a mix of anger and grievance, "Dad, the school wants to talk to parents... No, no, it wasn’t me, I didn’t cause trouble... Alright, please come quickly."
The principal sighed gently, then looked at Special Assistant Wood, "I think it’s best if you have President Jacobs come over."
With the Minister of Finance and Commerce coming in person, only Mason Jacobs could handle this, and Special Assistant Wood wasn’t enough.
Special Assistant Wood had no choice but to call Mason Jacobs again, briefly reporting the situation. Upon hearing that the matter had even alarmed the Ministry, Mason Jacobs was taken aback and immediately dropped everything on hand and rushed over.
Director Dawson and Mason Jacobs arrived almost simultaneously, encountering each other in the hallway, exchanging a few words before entering the office one after another.
On the way over, Mason Jacobs had come to understand the whole story; not to mention, Jasmine was indeed the one who instigated the issue, even if Jasmine was truly bullied, he wouldn’t stand up for her. The Jacobs family’s stance wasn’t that firm.
He looked at Jasmine and stated irrefutably, "Jasmine, apologize to your classmate."
Jasmine was unwilling, "Uncle Jacobs, I..."
But as she looked up and met Mason Jacobs’ gloomy gaze, she couldn’t help but shiver, then turned to Chubby Dawson, biting her lip and reluctantly apologized, "I’m sorry."
Chubby Dawson wasn’t the type to make things difficult; considering Jasmine humbly conceded first, he generously waved his hand, "It’s okay, I forgive you!"
Director Dawson observed this and extended his hand to Mason Jacobs with a friendly smile, "Children will inevitably encounter issues when they are together, most of which they can resolve on their own. Kids have their own ways of socializing, so shall we consider this matter settled?"
Mason Jacobs quickly replied, "It’s your generosity and your son’s broad-mindedness, we still have much to learn with Jasmine. Rest assured, I will educate her properly, and such instances will not occur again."
Director Dawson chuckled and waved his hand, "Don’t be hard on the kids; it’s nothing significant."
Mason Jacobs intended to take the opportunity to strengthen ties with Director Dawson, but Director Dawson, though appearing plain and friendly, spoke flawlessly and didn’t connect on any commercial topics.
Seeing that Director Dawson was about to leave, just then the class teacher’s phone rang. She answered it, and after a moment, her expression changed, "Zoe Chase hasn’t been to school, she wasn’t here this morning, haven’t you found her?"
Zoe Chase was one of her students, and it was already time for the morning break. Zoe’s parents were outside waiting to pick her up, but hadn’t seen Zoe come out, hence they called her.
But she was equally bewildered, thinking Zoe was sick, she had planned to call at noon to ask.
Only, Jasmine and Chubby Dawson’s matter had delayed her.
The class teacher hesitated, holding the phone, saying, "How about you come over to see me, I’m over here in the principal’s office."
With the issue of Jasmine and Chubby Dawson not fully resolved, at least their parents hadn’t expressed intentions to end the matter, the class teacher had no choice but to ask Zoe’s parents to come over first.
Director Dawson, concerned about the safety of the missing child, remained, while Mason Jacobs seeing him stay, decided not to leave either.
Elara Hale pushed the door open, paused when she saw Mason Jacobs and Jasmine, though surprised to see them there, at this moment she was most concerned about Zoe Chase’s safety, so she barely glanced at them, proceeded directly to the class teacher and principal.
She straightforwardly asked, "I was sure I saw Zoe enter the school this morning, yet you haven’t seen her all morning?"
She originally planned to check on Zoe’s emotional state during lunch break, only she didn’t see Zoe’s shadow for a long time while waiting at the gate.
She had no choice but to call the class teacher, only to be told Zoe didn’t come to school in the morning.
Worried that something happened to Zoe, she rushed over to confirm with the class teacher.
The class teacher frowned and said, "I’m very certain Zoe Chase didn’t come to the classroom."
Beside them, Chubby Dawson heard their words, his expression odd, subconsciously glanced at Jasmine, then quickly looked away, lowering his head, consumed with thought.
Elara Hale asked, "Can you check the surveillance?"
The class teacher looked at the principal.
The principal nodded.
The surveillance quickly revealed that after entering the school in the morning, Zoe for some reason walked out of the school gate again, towards a blind spot of the cameras, and then never appeared again.
Elara Hale’s face turned grim; had something happened to Zoe Chase? Why did she enter school only to walk back out abruptly, who called her back?
On the side, Mason Jacobs had been watching her, now finally spoke, "Zoe Chase is the child you recently adopted?"
Elara Hale didn’t answer his question but instead said to the class teacher, "I need to call the police."
