Whirlwind Marriage: My Possessive CEO's Undying Pampering-Chapter 820 - 819: Running a 40-Degree Fever
Midnight.
Eva Nightingale was drowsily asleep when she sensed a pair of cold eyes watching her.
It was chilling, and she immediately opened her eyes.
The man beside her had dark eyes fixed on her just like that.
A fragrance of red wine and magnetic hormones emanated from his thin lips.
Wine, the taste of wine.
Eva was taken aback for a moment, staring at the man: "Crown Prince... why are you here, am I dreaming?"
Wasn’t she supposed to be in Eastern Europe? She hadn’t seen him for such a long time.
How could he suddenly appear in her room, pressing down on her? Did he forget about their cold war! Afraid he’d crush her stomach, she pushed against him, attempting to make him get up and leave: "Don’t look at me like that—"
"Let go of me..."
"Sorry..." He drank too much and couldn’t resist missing her, so he sneaked into her bedroom again. Sensing her resistance, he apologized, then focused his deep, narrow eyes on her face, somewhat fervently.
"Well..." Eva’s mind couldn’t process why he would appear in Eastern Europe, and in her room.
She finally realized he was drunk; having known him for so long, it was the first time she saw him drunk, just as domineering as ever.
She didn’t have time to question why he would be in her room or why he would snuggle up to her and bite her in the middle of the night.
She was afraid he would harm her stomach, so she reached out to push his chest: "Mr. President, get up, you’re going to crush me—"
Lucas Knight was indeed drunk, his tall frame enveloping her, holding her tight, unwilling to let go, his domineering aura not diminished: "Baby, didn’t you want freedom... I’ll give it to you, it’s yours..."
"Let me hold you."
"Just a hug... I won’t do anything to you..."
For some reason, the more she resisted, the more excited he became.
He wanted her to be obedient and not move around.
"Not do anything?" Really! While her clothes are all gone, and he says he won’t do anything... He was drunk, reeking of alcohol, which she didn’t find unpleasant, but damn intoxicating.
The pain in Eva’s mouth made her realize this wasn’t a dream; the man on top of her was real.
"Mm, don’t move, or I’ll get more excited..." he ordered, holding her tight.
Eva blushed: "Excited by what!" He was pressing on her, not afraid of squishing the little one in her belly?
Forget it, realizing he was drunk, she didn’t argue with him anymore, and lifted her hand to push him, truly afraid he’d crush the little one in her belly.
"Let me go, mmh."
"Oh." He released her, his tall and upright body standing straight, pausing for a couple of seconds, feeling somewhat rejected.
He disliked that feeling of being rejected, and his eyes exuded danger.
He then grabbed her waist, holding her, not letting her move: "Don’t move around, just sleep well."
Eva decided not to move, allowing him to hold her.
...
He fell asleep holding her.
But Eva couldn’t sleep, she reached out to touch his forehead, it was burning, he had a fever.
No wonder she found his body so hot.
Eva tried to get out of bed, to find some fever medicine for him, but he held her tightly, his voice hoarse: "Baby, don’t go." How he wished to hold her, never letting go.
"Baby, don’t go..."
"Wife, don’t leave..."
Eva felt a pang of sadness, comforting him: "I’m not going. You have a fever, you’re so hot, I’m going to get you some medicine..."
He drank so much, coming to her room in the middle of the night, the people at the Clan Yansford estate probably didn’t even know he was here?!
"Let go, I’ll be back soon." She comforted quietly, but he wouldn’t let go, still holding her tight.
He was very strong, completely confining her, Eva couldn’t break free: "Lucas, let me go, this is very dangerous for you."
The man simply said: "Baby, with you here, I’ll be fine."
He was drunk, burning with fever, only knowing to hold her and not letting go.
Eva became anxious: "Husband, can you be obedient? I’m going to find something downstairs, just let me go first."
Hearing this, the man loosened his grip, then asked: "What are you looking for?" What could she find at this time of night!
"I’m going to get some meds," Eva said.
Because his body was too hot, it was no light fever, and Eva was really worried.
"Get what medicine?" He had too many words, his magnetic voice was deadly pleasant, "Wife, are you looking for condoms! Don’t bother... Your husband is too big, the condoms are too small, none fits."
Eva’s ears turned red, as he rubbed against her ear, breathing warm air.
What could Eva say!
She was straightforward: "Husband, you have a fever, I’m going to get you some medicine." As she spoke, her heart ached, did this man really love her? Even with a fever, he’s reluctant to let go of her, holding her so tight.
He fell silent.
Eva pushed him away, then rushed downstairs.
Downstairs in the villa, the servants were already asleep.
The European vintage-style living room was quiet, and Eva quickly pulled out the medical kit, found some fever medicine, poured a glass of water, and hurried upstairs.
Having been with Lucas Knight for so long, she’d never seen him with a high fever; once he burned, it was overwhelming, his temperature just now was enough to almost burn her.
High fever is very harmful to the body, making Eva deeply worried.
She got to the stairs, then quickly returned, then swiftly took an electronic thermometer upstairs.
It was still before dawn, a little after five, and Eva felt as if she could hear her own heart pounding uneasily.
"Click" she turned on all the lights.
Then she aimed the electronic thermometer at the man’s handsome forehead, measuring it, 40 degrees.
She reached to feel his forehead, the blistering temperature almost scalded her, and Eva cried instantly: "Lucas Knight... how could you be like this!"
"Drinking recklessly is one thing, but how could you have a high fever of forty degrees!!"
