When Will My Childhood Sweetheart Marry Me?-Chapter 85 - 0: Want to Possess Her (First Order, Please Support)
Under the light, Jiang Shuyao rose from her chair, her face already devoid of any emotional fluctuations.
She slowly walked up to the boy and lifted her head, eyes calm as she looked at him, "Close your eyes."
Pei Yan’s heart tightened, "Are you sure?"
"Do I have a choice?" Her tone was even, her calmness disconcerting him.
Two options; regardless of her choice, both were exactly what Pei Yan had hoped for.
Yet at this moment, he felt a little unwilling.
Damn it.
Pei Yan suddenly closed his eyes.
It was her move, no need to panic.
"Keep your eyes closed, don’t open them, or I’ll back out," the girl earnestly warned him.
Okay.
This girl was picking it up quickly, quite capable indeed.
Though his heart was still fluctuating, Pei Yan oddly relaxed when she spoke like that.
He wanted her to kiss him, and he was the most nervous and conflicted one about it.
Really frustrating.
Leaning casually in front of the bay window, the soft halo of white light softened the contours of his face.
Now, he wasn’t the school’s notorious tough guy everyone avoided, nor the hot-tempered, brawling hothead.
His thoughts were clear; he just quietly waited, looking forward to the girl he liked tiptoeing up to gently peck his face.
It must feel wonderful.
In the deep silence of the night, the breathing and heartbeats of the boy and girl intertwined in the studio.
Jiang Shuyao’s face, porcelain-white, tilted slightly up, inching closer to his sexy jawline.
Her faint fragrance from her hair lingered around Pei Yan’s nose, teasing and stirring his heart.
The wait seemed endlessly long.
He restrained the urge to pull her tightly into his arms and kiss her deeply.
Just being patient, quietly waiting.
Their breaths were close, Jiang Shuyao’s face already flushing red.
Spotting the right mood, she cautiously lifted her hand and lightly touched his chin with her finger.
Pei Yan’s jaw tensed; after a few seconds of hesitation, he opened his eyes.
The girl stood before him, head bowed, her blush extending to her neck.
He looked at her, his voice husky, "Done kissing?"
Jiang Shuyao barely nodded, unwilling to speak with him.
In such a situation, as a boy, he naturally assumed she was just shy.
Pei Yan looked down at her intently, his eyes black and deep like icy pools, the lights casting a gentle yet clear glow in them.
Suddenly, he chuckled.
"I’m a man of my word. The keys to the studio and the main door are yours, from now on, this place belongs to you."
Jiang Shuyao quickly lifted her head, her eyes widening slightly, "You promised, no taking it back."
At least until the national college entrance exams were over, he couldn’t retract his offer mid-way.
The sudden surge in the girl’s emotions made Pei Yan chuckle. Had he ever broken a promise to her since they were children?
Jiang Shuyao knew his character well, and besides, he had put so much thought into this studio. If he changed his mind, all his prior efforts would be meaningless.
But thinking about how she had just tricked him, she felt a bit guilty.
So she took the opportunity to ask him, "Your birthday’s coming up, have you thought about what you want?"
The girl still had a bit of conscience.
Pei Yan raised his eyelids, turning his gaze towards the nearby easel, "A portrait that captures my handsome looks; I want to hang it in my bedroom as a mural." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"..."
Using one’s own portrait as wall decor, what an idea he came up with.
However, Jiang Shuyao had no reason to refuse since the task was within her capabilities, and she should satisfy him.
"Portrait painting isn’t something that can be accomplished in a day or two. Can I take my time with it? Don’t worry, I’ll carve out a little time each day. It won’t take too long."
After the girl finished speaking, Pei Yan nodded understandingly, "Mmm, no rush, even a year or two would be fine."
Starting tomorrow, she would use the weekends to prepare for Yangjin’s preliminary exam, and the rascal’s portrait would have to be squeezed into her spare time.
But at most, it would take a month.
A year or two was an exaggeration.
Around ten o’clock, Jiang Tingsong returned from outside, bringing a birthday cake for Pei Yan.
Over the phone, she hadn’t mentioned to her mother that they were already back at Yasong Residence. Always cautious, Jiang Shuyao planned to leave first and advised Pei Yan to come over later.
She tiptoed to the door, cautiously poked her head out for a quick look around to make sure it was safe before slowly stepping out.
Pei Yan stood in the living room, watching the girl’s series of cute actions, his eyes twitching slightly.
Even though they had grown up together, in front of their elders, she was still afraid of being ambiguously linked to him.
For her young age, she was quick to learn about avoiding suspicion, though she was oblivious to other things.
The winter night was silent; Pei Yan had opened a soda and was lazily reclining on the couch. The cold wind from the terrace infiltrated, chasing away all warmth in the room.
Today was his birthday.
It turned out to be the most sleepless birthday ever.
He had fancied her for three whole years, and tonight he realized that just one touch of her finger could send shivers down his spine and make his heart tremble uncontrollably.
It was the first time in Pei Yan’s life that he had liked someone, before this, he didn’t even understand what liking someone meant.
Until when he was sixteen, the girl wearing a light yellow long dress stood in the center of the old mansion’s back garden. A casual glance back from her unexpectedly calmed his turbulent mood.
That was when his illness flared up most frequently and he was most resistant to treatment.
He had tormented the family dog nearly to death, and all the servants viewed him as the Devil.
Old Pei never scolded him, every day he was busy with the public listing of Zhizhen, spending less and less time in the villa.
Pei Yan knew Lin Zhen’s departure thrust him into hell, turned him into a madman, slowly wearing out everyone’s patience around him,
including his own father.
But at that moment, his naive childhood friend unexpectedly entered his sight, and damn, she even flashed him a slight dimple.
Her smile was so sweet it heated his blood.
Pei Yan unconsciously curved the corners of his lips.
It had been a long time since he last smiled, and this sudden action frightened the servants into a tremble.
Uncle Li quickly found an excuse to take the young girl away, fearing that he would hurt her.
Hah.
Being shunned to this extent, the sensitive teenager didn’t lose his temper for the first time.
At that moment, he had only one thought on his mind.
He had to cure himself. He wanted to possess that girl.
Being missed to this extent by someone, Jiang Shuyao had been sneezing nonstop since coming home.
Zhu Yun finished placing the birthday candles, and while preparing to leave, she advised her, "Yaoyao, put on an extra layer of clothing when you go inside, don’t catch a cold."
She knew her mother was going to call Pei Yan over, and her father was still frying steaks in the kitchen. To avoid being alone with him later, Jiang Shuyao took the chance to go into the bedroom under the pretext of changing clothes.
Once everything was ready, she walked out as if nothing had happened.
The young man sitting in front of the birthday cake saw her arriving late and scoffed lightly.
"Why are you avoiding me, I’m not going to eat you."
She: "..."
At that moment, Jiang Shuyao realized she had shown up too early.
The old couple dawdled for so long, they were still in the kitchen!
