When Will My Childhood Sweetheart Marry Me?-Chapter 74 - 0: No One Knows You Better Than Your Father
Pei Yan had injured his hand, naturally, he couldn’t ride his flashy motorcycle. Jiang Shuyao followed him down the stairs, turning left and right until they reached the parking lot. When she saw the silver-gray sports car, she twitched and turned to walk back.
"What are you running for, I got my license last year."
Jiang Shuyao was unyielding, "You drive, I’ll take a taxi to Seaside City."
A girl’s stubbornness could sometimes be infuriating. Pei Yan pressed his throbbing temples and coaxed with patience, "Taking a taxi from here isn’t cost-effective, I’ll drive slower later, slower than a snail, okay?"
Jiang Shuyao stopped in her tracks and turned back expressionlessly, "It’s not about driving fast or slow, I just think you’re too ostentatious."
Damn.
Daring to call him ostentatious.
The two stared each other down for a full ten minutes.
Eventually, leg cannot twist arm, Pei Yan bent down to throw the car keys under the car and walked over to the girl with hands in his pockets.
His frosty side profile was filled with displeasure. Today was his birthday, he had hoped everything would go his way, but Jiang Shuyao really couldn’t convince herself to sit in that ostentatiously expensive limited edition sports car.
Moreover, the driver was still a high school student.
They had just arrived at the entrance of Yasong Residence when Uncle Li slowly pulled up in a sedan.
He rolled down the window and smiled, gesturing for them to get in.
She was secretly amazed and subconsciously turned her head towards Pei Yan.
Pei Yan maintained a cool demeanor, sloppily leaning against the seat, too lazy to even lift his eyelids as he spoke, "Know you better than you know yourself, satisfied with this Plan B?"
"..."
Speechless, Uncle Li in front was already grinning ear to ear.
"The young master has made quite some progress in his studies recently, combining ancient and English literature, quite cultured."
Heh.
Jiang Shuyao almost passed out then and there.
Uncle Li, are you serious? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The girl turned her face away, and her vivid expressions reflected on the car window, clearly and unknowingly.
Beside her, those pitch-black eyes stared motionlessly out the window, lazy and fierce, like a jackal lurking in the abyss.
Half an hour later, they got out of the car in Seaside City.
Night had fallen, and a drizzle had started, with cold winds penetrating through the whole street.
Within the same city, yet completely different weather.
Jiang Shuyao stood in front of the lofty archway, looking up at the neon lights flashing the words ’Seaside City’ overhead, feeling utterly foreign.
She had never been to a place like this before, filled with song and revelry, far beyond her normal range of activities.
As the two entered, the security guards at the door uniformly bowed and called out ’Mr. Pei’. Pei Yan’s expression remained indifferent, as if such a scene had become the norm.
The heating inside Seaside City was sufficient, and the elevator went straight up to the eighth floor. As soon as they stepped into the private room, the fragrance was striking.
Here, the lighting was soft and the music peaceful and melodious, starkly different from the outside.
Luxurious leather sofas were arranged in a semicircle around a large round table that could accommodate dozens of people, complete with game controllers, microphones, dice, and pool cues.
The resting area was separated from the entertainment area by a simple screen, with warm white wall lights and shelves filled with books, offering a sort of quaint tranquility.
To emphasize the festive atmosphere, the door frames to the restroom and dining alcove were adorned with pink balloons on each side.
At a glance, bursting with girly charm.
Soon, everyone’s attention was drawn to the door as Xu Kanfeng run over excitedly, "Brother Yan, how about it, isn’t this year’s arrangement particularly eye-catching for you?"
Pei Yan glanced around indifferently, his gaze landing on the annoying balloons, and pointed, "Take those things down."
