When Will My Childhood Sweetheart Marry Me?-Chapter 66 - 0: This Piece of Meat is Yours
Pei Yan chased after Jiang Shuyao, who had reached the sports field when suddenly someone grabbed the collar of her shirt from behind, making her almost stumble and hit the big tree in front of her.
Fortunately, Pei Yan reacted quickly and protected the girl’s forehead with his hand.
The dim light made her pale face look drastically different from the bright and spirited girl she usually was.
Realizing something was off, Pei Yan furrowed his brows and asked, "Where does it hurt?"
Jiang Shuyao continued walking forward silently, unwilling to respond.
He patiently followed her, observing her minor movements and quickly understood what was going on.
"If your stomach hurts, go to the infirmary. Why are you running around outside?"
Pei Yan quickly walked over, grabbed her wrist, turned his back to her, and cocked his head, signaling, "Come on, I’ll carry you."
His gaze was commanding, not suggestive.
At that moment, Jiang Shuyao was too tired to argue and simply stated her request, "Pei Yan, could you help me with something at the internet cafe?"
Pei Yan slowly straightened up and looked back at her.
It was rare for the girl to ask him to do something unless absolutely necessary.
He turned to meet her clear eyes and emphasized again with a frown, "Go to the infirmary first to get some medicine. Everything else can wait."
Jiang Shuyao stubbornly shook her head.
"It’s the last chance to register for the Art College’s independent admission exam tonight. If I miss it, there will be no other opportunity, Pei Yan. Can you please help me?"
Her voice was hoarse and her eyes were reddened, which pained him.
After that night, Pei Yan was really afraid of seeing her cry.
He softened his voice and asked, "What independent admission exam, Yangjin’s?"
She paused for a few seconds, then nodded.
As expected.
Pei Yan barely curved his lips, knowing all along that no matter how much her parents objected, she would not give up painting.
But he hadn’t expected her to boldly apply to Yangjin.
If she passed the professional courses, with her academic grades, getting into Yangjin wasn’t doubtful.
If he remembered correctly, that school was in the Capital.
The young girl had grown up and wanted to see the outside world.
No problem.
However, as soon as he saw her pained and miserable appearance, Pei Yan could no longer smile.
Ignoring the girl’s protests, he bent over, scooped her up around the waist in a rough, simple motion, and took long strides toward the infirmary.
Jiang Shuyao was stunned.
"What are you doing? Put me down now!"
"If you don’t want people to see, then you’d better stay quiet."
She was almost crying, "But what about the registration? It’s almost too late."
Pei Yan’s pace was neither fast nor slow, "Don’t worry, there’s still time."
With only half an hour till nine o’clock, and it would take about ten minutes to reach the nearest internet cafe. How could they possibly make it?
The girl struggled in his arms while Pei Yan looked down at her with a smile, "I promise, if we mess this up, I’ll run ten laps around the sports field naked."
"..."
Jiang Shuyao was utterly at a loss for words.
He was so proud. Once he committed to something, no matter how difficult, he would make it happen.
But, biting her lip, she thought,
This guy always does what makes him comfortable, never considering how others feel.
Couldn’t he stop being so domineering?
After her repeated requests went unanswered, Jiang Shuyao closed her eyes, then turned her head and bit hard into the young man’s wrist.
Pei Yan inhaled sharply, enduring the pain and squinting his eyes.
But when he looked down and saw her soft little face tightly pressed against his chest, he couldn’t help but chuckle.
Hmm.
"Bite as hard as you want, that piece of meat is yours now."
"..."
