When Will My Childhood Sweetheart Marry Me?-Chapter 111: Will Be Together in the Future
The room was equipped with three surveillance cameras that could monitor the scene from every angle without any dead spots.
As long as Pei Yan dared to make a move again, this time he would end up in jail for good.
The two were getting closer and closer.
Liang Zixiao’s eyes twinkled with the excitement of a scheme about to succeed.
However, this heady emotion lasted only two seconds before the door of the hospital room was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Thinking it was a nurse, Liang Zixiao was about to blow up.
When he unexpectedly saw a delicate figure coming in from the door, it turned out to be Jiang Shuyao.
The girl walked slowly in with her phone, eventually standing shoulder to shoulder with Pei Yan across from Liang Zixiao.
For the first time, she revealed a shallow smile towards that scum, "Trash should stay in the trash can. Liang Zixiao, I’m waiting for you to sue me."
Her voice was soft and nonaggressive, yet it carried a chilly winter wind that fiercely blew across the face of the person opposite her.
So much so that after Jiang Shuyao finished speaking, it took Liang Zixiao an embarrassingly long time to snap back to reality.
The tragedy was that, even at such a time, the scum’s look at the girl was still infatuated.
Jiang Shuyao indifferently withdrew her gaze, looking up at the person beside her, "I’m so hungry, let’s go back to eat."
Pei Yan’s downcast eyes gradually became serene, his cold glance sweeping over the trash before taking the girl’s hand and heading towards the door.
The plot twist came too fast, and Liang Zixiao, who thought he had everything under control, was hit by a momentary joy in his heart when he saw Jiang Shuyao’s unexpected presence and her stunningly beautiful face.
He hadn’t expected to see her here.
Like he had been bewitched, just moments ago he was fussing about suing someone, but now, in front of the real person, he had become a fool.
When Liang Zixiao finally came to his senses and saw the two about to leave, he hastily called out, "Jiang Shuyao."
The girl paused in her steps but did not turn around.
The hospital room was too quiet, and she heard the soul-searching question from the person behind her, "Are you together with Pei Yan?"
The first time at North Alley, she had thrown away the steel rod in Pei Yan’s hand and settled a gang fight with just a few words.
The second time, at Yunzhong Gymnasium, she unhesitatingly denied being Pei Yan’s girlfriend.
Liang Zixiao always had doubts about what exactly was the relationship between Jiang Shuyao and Pei Yan.
At 7:30 a.m., a cleaner pushing a purifier knocked and entered the room, breaking the rigid deadlock.
At that moment, the early morning sun slanted into the room, casting a harmonious and peaceful glow over the entire space.
As the rash faded, Jiang Shuyao’s pale cheeks were soft and beautiful, and she uttered a phrase that was ambiguous as to whom it was directed, with only three words.
She said, "There will be a future."
Not now, but in the future... perhaps there would be. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Her voice was shallow, like she was calmly answering a question that wasn’t too formal.
She didn’t know what Pei Yan’s reaction was, but at that moment, she distinctly felt the person beside her’s breathing momentarily pause.
Even until they took the elevator back to the hospital room, she didn’t dare to lift her head to look at him.
The moment the door closed behind them, Jiang Shuyao truly experienced the man’s stormy frenzy.
She felt a tight grip around her waist, and suddenly, her whole body was swept into the air, whirling dizzyingly.
Pei Yan picked her up and spun her several times in the air. Jiang Shuyao, terrified, let out a cry and closed her eyes, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.
His strength was incredibly impressive, making her feel almost weightless in his hands.
Many times she suspected that this guy must have been sent to some sort of military base for training.
After several days, Jiang Shuyao heard the young man’s hearty laughter once again, just like the last time under the big tree at school, only this time she laughed along with him.
Pei Yan looked up into her eyes, not putting her down even as he spoke.
He lifted her up onto the hospital room’s windowsill; the sun shone through the window, covering Jiang Shuyao’s back with warmth.
"Yaoyao, repeat what you just said," he requested.
Jiang Shuyao, not bothering to entertain him, turned her face away with a blush.
At this critical juncture, he could hardly allow her to evade.
His large hand pinched the girl’s chin, forcefully making her look straight at him.
Pei Yan’s eyes carried a smile. "It’s fine if you don’t say it. After all, I heard everything loud and clear. Dare to deny it in the future, and I’ll skin you alive."
Some people are born inept at sweet talk, always preferring to intimidate with such fierce tones.
Jiang Shuyao was already quite hungry, and after being tossed about by someone, she had even less strength now.
She let out a soft hum of discontent through her nose. "With your behavior, even if I deny things in the future, it would be completely understandable."
With that, she immediately provoked Pei Yan.
The hand wrapped around her waist suddenly tightened, and his oppressive low voice almost seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth. "You’re playing me!"
All over the boy’s body, it seemed as if every pore was exuding danger.
Jiang Shuyao, holding back her laughter, stared unblinkingly at him, saying nothing.
As time ticked away, the two of them stood off for a moment, and a nurse knocked on the door outside.
They must have found it strange to see a patient locking the door before sleeping for the first time.
But since it was a VIP ward, the little nurse dared not object.
Unlike someone so shameless, Jiang Shuyao almost instinctively tried to jump down.
"Don’t move." Pei Yan’s grip was iron-strong.
Now the girl was anxious.
She tried to pry his hands off, her tone flustered with embarrassment. "Someone is coming in, don’t you have any shame?"
Even though it was clearly a curse, every time it came out of her little mouth, Pei Yan found it exceptionally adorable.
He began to threaten. "Say that whole sentence from downstairs again, or neither of us will have a face."
"..."
He had joyfully spun her around as soon as he walked through the door, and now he was pretending he hadn’t heard enough, making her repeat it.
Jiang Shuyao’s cheeks were so red they almost bled.
Who does things like this?
Knocks from outside came intermittently as the man before her watched her fret with a calm demeanor, showing not a hint of sympathy.
Cornered, Jiang Shuyao had no choice but to close her eyes, lower her head, and mutter as quiet as a mosquito, "We will be together in the future."
She swore that as soon as she got out of that hospital room door, she would fiercely kick that bastard.
She thought that once she indulged him, she would earn her release.
But Pei Yan frowned. "That’s not right; there’s no subject."
God knows how shocked and...horrified Jiang Shuyao was to hear such words spoken by someone who scored thirty in a language test.
The girl’s surprise was evident in her eyes.
Seeing her expression, Pei Yan found it somewhat amusing. "How much someone scores in language class has nothing to do with whether or not they’re an idiot. Even if I scored zero, I would still be able to chase after you, who scored full marks."
"..."
Such damnable confidence.
The knocking outside seemed to have stopped, and the nurse murmured, "Nothing could have gone wrong, right?"
Then there was the sound of keys jingling.
With the arrow on the string, Jiang Shuyao resigned herself to her fate.
She turned Pei Yan’s head straight and said to him in a fit of pique, "We will be together in the future; Jiang Shuyao and Pei Yan will be together in the future. Are you happy now? Let me down!"
On the brink of meltdown, yet that person was ecstatic like a lunatic, blissfully unaware of north or south.
Next moment, the doorknob turned halfway, and with a creak, someone entered.
Not the nurse, after all.
Jiang Shuyao’s eyes widened, on the verge of tears.
How could it be...
