When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 1039: Wedding Ring
The study was brightly lit, with rows of neatly arranged books on the shelves, more than half of which were about economics and philosophy. None of the books were new, each one seemed to have been read countless times.
Adrian Lancaster had been a top student since he was a child. He never stopped learning, which gave him a broader perspective and higher understanding than most of his peers.
As he walked into the study, he did not check his emails or even turn on the computer.
Instead, he opened a drawer and took out a delicate little box. Gently opening it, a women’s ring with a sense of weight and design lay quietly inside.
Under the light, the ring sparkled brightly.
Adrian Lancaster gently caressed the ring, and in his deep eyes, there was a heavy weight. Memories of being with her came to mind one after another.
The night was silent.
In the master bedroom’s bathroom, Faye Turner lay in the bathtub, filled with warm water. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Through the misty steam, she looked at the towel on the shelf, alongside his neatly folded pajamas.
Her face was calm as she slowly closed her eyes, her body covered in white foam, and she rarely felt so relaxed. So much had happened recently.
She vaguely remembered the phrase—
"No amount of worldly splendor compares to you; when fairy tales arrive, the wind is sweet."
Her mind flashed back to memories of the old courtyard, of that camphor tree, and of people playing chess under its branches...
She couldn’t clearly remember who they were; their faces and figures were blurred.
But on such an afternoon, the golden sunlight sifted through the leaves, serene as a painting.
She loved such scenes so much that even after she injured her head, she still remembered it all.
She also remembered holding little Joy in her arms, lively and fair, with big eyes like black gemstones. She was very beautiful and loved to laugh...
Time ticked by, and memories of Adrian Lancaster seemed to be magically taken away by the heavens.
After the bath, dressed in a white robe, Faye Turner looked up to see the man standing by the bedroom bed.
Her chest tightened slightly, her hair wet as she gazed at him.
Under the warm yellow light, the atmosphere felt slightly romantic, and she couldn’t help but blush. In the bedroom, there were only the two of them, not far away was a large and soft double bed.
Faye Turner stood there, her legs exposed from the robe, fair and straight like a model’s on TV.
Her skin exposed at the neckline was as fair as snow, her collarbones beautiful, and her face enchanting, enough to make one’s blood race.
Adrian Lancaster met her gaze and stepped toward her...
The bedroom was exceptionally quiet, Faye Turner pursed her lips, her eyelashes fluttered slightly as he approached, feeling a bit nervous.
Adrian Lancaster stood before her, took her hand, and gently slipped the weighty ring onto her finger.
Faye Turner felt a slight contraction in her chest, lowering her gaze to watch his actions... His fingers were long and well-defined, with warmth at the fingertips.
Without any verbal exchange, he gently put the ring on her.
Wearing slippers, Faye Turner simply lowered her eyes, at this moment, it seemed as if the whole world was silent.
After placing the ring on her finger, Adrian Lancaster smoothly pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly and cherishingly.
Faye Turner’s head was a bit foggy, wondering why he gave her the ring?
But the hug didn’t last long, as Adrian Lancaster released her shoulders and in the next second, kissed her pink lips...
At the moment when their lips touched, the room was steeped in tranquility.
She could even clearly feel his breath and heartbeat.
And her own heartbeat was also racing faster and faster because of this kiss...
