When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 771: I Would Betray Anyone but Her (Part 1)
Mu Ke slept well through the night, and since Jiayu drank, she slept very soundly. Amazingly, both of them slept until almost ten in the morning.
And unexpectedly, Jiayu woke up before Mu Ke. She slightly moved her head, feeling a throbbing pain in her temples. Turning her head slightly, she found herself facing a pair of tightly closed eyes.
Mu Ke’s eyes were long and narrow, with thick lashes, and his eyebrows were quite attractive. If Jiayu had not almost become a part of Mu Ke’s life, she would suspect that this man regularly groomed his eyebrows.
They were very close, and Jiayu could clearly feel the slight warmth of Mu Ke’s breath against her skin.
With her heart slightly moved, Jiayu turned her body slightly, her fingers gently touching Mu Ke’s eyelashes, which were a bit harder than hers but felt nice to the touch.
The headache was completely forgotten as Jiayu played with them happily, so when she was caught off guard by the man’s suddenly open dark eyes, her hand hadn’t had time to withdraw.
Mu Ke’s voice was somewhat hoarse: "Is it fun?"
The man, just awake, had an indescribable allure, especially someone like him who normally appeared so cool and abstinent. The great contrast made one instantly blush.
Jiayu’s cheeks flushed, but she still boldly leaned in: "It’s okay."
Mu Ke’s gaze fell on her neckline; her loungewear was already very loose, and since Jiayu was lying on her side like this, he could effortlessly see the fair skin on her chest.
Mu Ke’s eyes deepened, and how could a morning man withstand such teasing?
Before Mu Ke’s brain could make the most appropriate response, his lips had already descended onto Jiayu’s.
Jiayu reached out to push Mu Ke, but couldn’t move him, so she resolutely clenched her teeth to prevent him from succeeding.
If the man truly wanted, how could she resist? But in the end, Mu Ke couldn’t bear it, and he moved slightly away from Jiayu’s lips, his handsome brows slightly furrowed.
Jiayu softly chuckled: "I haven’t brushed my teeth, and I drank last night. Let me go brush my teeth first."
Mu Ke’s eyes were very deep, staring at her for two seconds before letting go of the person beneath him. He wasn’t bothered, but Jiayu didn’t like it, so of course, he wouldn’t force her.
After Jiayu finished freshening up and came out, Mu Ke had already prepared breakfast, and the two sat down face to face.
"I’m going back this afternoon. Do you want to join me? In the morning, I’m going to the book café since I haven’t been there for two days."
Mu Ke nodded: "I need to make a trip to the hospital today, and then I’ll come pick you up."
"Okay."
The weather continued to get colder, and as soon as Jiayu walked out of the apartment building, a cold wind blew over. She instinctively shrank her neck, and the next second, someone came up from behind and wrapped a scarf around her, warmth spreading immediately, along with Mu Ke’s cool voice: "Braving the wind with a hangover, are you trying to live a long life?"
Jiayu turned to look at him, her eyes slightly shifting. He hadn’t mentioned her hangover during the morning or breakfast, and she had thought he wouldn’t bring it up. So he was waiting to mention it here?
Sticking out her tongue, Jiayu took Mu Ke’s arm: "I was happy yesterday. I won’t do it again, I promise!"
Saying that, she also made a gesture of swearing. Mu Ke looked at her, eyes filled with indulgence, though his tone remained cool: "I’ll remember it, don’t let it happen again."
"Okay, it won’t happen again."
Mu Ke started the car, first dropping Jiayu off at the book café, before turning the car around to head to the hospital.
