Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Luna Calls Me Little Uncle, Aren’t You Going to Change Yours?

Russell Frost was in a daze.

The woman standing under the eaves had bright, limpid eyes, pure and translucent.

Even the curve of her lips when she smiled was somewhat similar to Adriana’s.

Luna Axton always gave him a feeling of warmth and familiarity.

Luna Axton smiled sweetly. "Little Uncle."

’Blaze calls Mason Frost "Uncle," so Russell Frost must be "Little Uncle."’

She had always lived with just her mother, so she wasn’t very clear on how to address relatives.

Fortunately, his expression didn’t change at all at being called "Little Uncle."

Luna’s voice pulled Russell Frost from his thoughts. His gaze focused, and he said gently, "Come inside. The crowd hasn’t completely dispersed yet."

Luna Axton sat down at her workstation, and Russell Frost and May Ford came in one after the other.

The pillars of the Frost Family were all gathered in Mason Frost’s consultation room.

Luna Axton felt guilty that her personal affairs had brought such negative attention to Concordia Medical Hall.

"I’m sorry, Uncle, Auntie. I never expected Concordia Medical Hall to get dragged into this."

May Ford put an arm around her shoulder to comfort her. "You silly child. You didn’t do anything wrong, so why are you apologizing?"

May Ford’s voice was hoarse.

"Auntie, let me go to the pharmacy and get some herbs to make a soothing tea for your throat."

May Ford grabbed her hand and winked mysteriously. "Just wait. Someone’s bringing some."

"Oh." Luna Axton had no choice but to sit back down obediently.

Russell Frost was a plenipotentiary special envoy stationed abroad. He could figure out a person’s character and intentions after just a brief conversation.

The Luna Axton before him was too pure, too innocent. She was like a mountain spring, so clear you could see straight to the bottom—not at all the type to harbor so many devious thoughts.

’Her only form of resistance is like tossing a stone into that spring. It would make a PLINK and send up a small splash, but it couldn’t harm the person who threw the stone in the slightest.’

Seeing her with her head down, looking lost as if she had committed some terrible crime, Russell Frost couldn’t help but speak up.

"You haven’t done anything wrong, so there’s no need to apologize. Concordia Medical Hall has weathered its share of storms to get where it is today. A small thing like this can’t affect us."

"Exactly! Don’t pay any attention to those people. You’ll only be giving them what they want. What are you and Blaze planning to do?"

One comment from Russell Frost, another from May Ford—Luna Axton’s heart warmed as she listened.

During this internship, she had received so many kind words.

It was as if she were holding a small bottle. Little by little, everyone at Concordia Medical Hall had filled it with warmth and care, until her bottle grew heavy.

"This is all very complicated. The Hepatology Hospital where my mother was previously admitted has serious operational issues, so Blaze Fairchild and I took them to court. Eliana Yates’s father is the director of the Health Bureau. The live-stream incident is also connected to Kai, who is the son of Blaze’s aunt, Rosalind Fairchild."

She tried her best to clearly explain everyone involved in the matter.

After listening, May Ford slammed a fist on the desk and cursed through gritted teeth, "How is that bitch Rosalind Fairchild involved again?!"

Luna Axton stared, stunned. With her hands on her hips in anger, the beautiful woman was still a sight to behold, even when furious.

In contrast to May Ford’s explosive anger, Mason Frost was much calmer. "That Hepatology Hospital is the rotten apple of the public health system."

"If that’s the case, does that mean Eliana Yates filmed that video with a specific purpose from the very beginning?" Russell Frost analyzed. "How dare they use our Concordia Medical Hall as cannon fodder!"

Luna Axton looked at the three of them—so united, yet each with a completely different focus.

For a moment, it was as if she were looking at three chivalrous swordsmen.

With a family so protective of it, it was hard to imagine Concordia Medical Hall not continuing to prosper.

"Coming through, coming through! The Fire-clearing Throat-soothing Tea is here!" Ethan Frost came in carrying a tray like a waiter, serving tea to the three of them.

Finally, he handed Luna Axton a glass of a different-colored liquid. "Pear and jasmine tea. The kind without actual tea leaves."

"Thank you, Ethan." Luna Axton obediently held the cup and took a sip.

She silently watched the three of them, each so different from her first impression, as they discussed countermeasures for the future of Concordia Medical Hall.

She had never experienced an atmosphere like this before.

Only after the three adults had finished venting their frustrations did she continue.

"Regarding the situation online, Mr. Fairchild and I have a plan. After the police release their official statement on the case, I’ll post a written clarification, addressing each issue one by one."

"No," Russell Frost was the first to object.

"If you do that, you’ll just face even more online harassment. Even people who don’t know the facts will jump on the bandwagon and attack you on your account."

"Little Uncle, I know." Luna Axton understood. That was what Blaze Fairchild had said, too.

May Ford’s family of three all looked at her, curious as to why she was so insistent.

"I’m going to be a healthcare professional one day. I’ll have to interact and communicate with many people. If I don’t explain what happened this time, it will follow me for the rest of my life and affect my future career."

She paused for a few seconds, her expression softening as she placed a hand on her abdomen.

"Lucky will be born soon. I don’t want him to be the subject of gossip, either."

The other four fell silent after hearing this.

Without a doubt, they all knew that public opinion could destroy a person’s every achievement and magnify their smallest flaws.

’If the outcome is the same either way, why not fight back?’

After a long silence, Russell Frost said, "You need to be mentally prepared."

Luna Axton managed a faint, calm smile. "I’ve always told myself that whatever happens to me is ultimately for my benefit."

May Ford gave her a thumbs-up. "That’s an amazing mindset."

"This time is no different. After the semester starts, I won’t be able to hide my pregnancy anymore. The stares and comments will become even more brazen. So why not take this opportunity to announce my marital status and clarify all the things that have been twisted?"

"See? I told you kids these days are tough." Mason Frost worked in education and had interacted with many young people. He knew full well that every generation is different.

"Especially their mentality. Kids these days don’t just wear themselves down with internal conflict."

Luna Axton lowered her gaze.

’In truth, it was Blaze Fairchild who gave me this courage.’

’If I had to face all this alone, I probably would have been too upset to even leave the house, and I might have even started to wonder if I was the problem.’

"Luna."

’I was just thinking about Blaze Fairchild. How am I suddenly hearing his voice?’

Luna Axton turned her head. Blaze Fairchild was standing in the doorway.

Her throat tightened instantly, her eyes stung, and tears welled up, blurring her vision.

’Why do I feel so wronged and want to cry the moment I see him?’

"Uncle, Auntie." Blaze Fairchild nodded slightly, very polite.

Noticing Russell Frost was also in the consultation room, he paused for a moment.

"Uncle Russell, when did you get back?"

"Luna here calls me ’Little Uncle.’ Don’t you think you should update your address for me?" Russell Frost smiled elegantly, not looking like he was joking at all.

Luna Axton’s gaze darted between Blaze Fairchild and Russell Frost, feeling lost. ’So I wasn’t supposed to call him Little Uncle.’

She pursed her lips, and just as she was about to correct her form of address, Blaze Fairchild beat her to it and called out, "Little Uncle."

The four other people in the room couldn’t help but grin. Getting married really changes a man.

No wonder they say the Fairchild family produces romantics.

"I just got back two days ago. Your Grandpa Frost isn’t doing well, so I came back to visit family."

Blaze Fairchild said, "Once you’re all on break, our two families should have a simple meal together. I’ll bring my grandfather and my mother-in-law."

"Sounds good," Mason Frost agreed. "Things at Concordia Medical Hall will be slow for the next couple of days. If it’s inconvenient for Luna, she doesn’t have to come in. There aren’t many patients anyway. People tend to avoid seeing the doctor during the holidays."
