"You are a monster…" Valiea muttered while cleaning up the bar.

I huffed, "Well that's not very nice."

"I meant that in the sincerest way possible."

"That's still not very nice, is it?"

"What else am I supposed to use to describe someone who is able to do that?! I need four arms to even do what you just did and you're even just casually doing it for the first time!"

I raised a finger, "To be fair… I was quite stressed while I was doing it and I really don't think it's practical to do it in an actual service setting anyway."

"The fact still remains that you are even able to do it! That's what is so scary about it! I don't even think my husband can do what you just did and he's better at doing tricks than me!"

I shrugged, "To be honest, I didn't really even know that would work and I was just winging it because I knew the bottles wouldn't break. If I was using normal bottles, I would probably be too nervous to do it."

She rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't even be able to do that with those unbreakable bottles with two arms anyway."

"Well… I dunno…"

I mean… I'm about ninety percent sure that I was able to do all this because of the perks that I had chosen, although I don't know what exact perk or perks they were that helped me with it.

She draped the towel she had been using to wipe the counter on a towel rack before turning back to me, "Well, I'll have to head to the club soon so I'm going to go wake my husband. Do you want to stay here and continue practicing?"

I considered it for a moment but since I already pretty much spent an entire day on this, I kind of want to let loose myself as well.

"Could I go with you? The last time I went I didn't really have much of a chance to experience the club you're working at."

"Oh yeah, that's true. We might as well let you have a taste since you might be a regular soon."

A regular? I guess she's expecting me to return to the club after our challenge regularly or something since she doesn't know about our plan to deal with those pirates.

I saw no need to correct her anyway so I didn't tell her about that. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

She went off to get Ragbar who had been napping for the entire day though it was because he had a long shift last night so it's not like he's some slacker.

With our driver woken up, I hopped into their van before they drove me to the same parking spot near the club.

They had to wear those hooded cloaks once again and I followed behind them to head over to the club.

Even though there was still about half an hour till it was opening time, there was already a crowd gathered outside waiting to enter the club.

The couple brought me around the back to enter from the back entrance which had three men watching it. All three seemed to recognise me as they gave me nods of greeting and didn't stop me from following the couple into the club.

"You sure I'm good to be in here? I can wait until you're open," I offered.

Valiea chuckled, "And leave you outside for the mobs? Not a chance."

Ragbar stretched his arms overhead after draping the cloak on a clothes hanger, "Nngghh… We'll have to do the opening prep, Tera. Feel free to look around the place. Everyone already knows you so you don't need to be shy."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "How does everyone already know me?"

Valiea gave me a look, "You think that you could come here and be the one closest to beating me in the challenge that no one has done before and no one will talk? They already pretty much talked about you to death yesterday that even those who weren't there that night knew about you."

I blinked at her, "Everyone? Wait… That's not good is it?"

She shrugged, "I won't lie, I won't be surprised if by the next few months everyone on this ring would end up at least hearing about you after our challenge."

"That's not ideal for us… What if those Inner Colony people come here looking for me? I don't want to get involved with them."

Ragbar appeared beside his wife while draping his arm around her shoulder, "Bah, they're harmless. They can't do anything while they're all the way out here anyway. Plus, they would probably only know you with the mask so they won't know where to look."

I pointed at Valiea, "Didn't she say that the people on this Ring would already figure me out in a month? Plus everyone in the club already knows?"

"Ha! You think those Inner Colony snobs will even swallow their pride and ask Outer Colonists for help?"

"If they're desperate, I suppose they would?" I guessed, seeing that our job to escort those researchers was basically a group of Inner Colonists looking for help from Outer Colonists after all.

Ragbar waved his hand dismissively, "Nah they won't, trust me on that."

Well… If you say so…

I let the couple go do their thing while I decided to go wander around the mostly empty club. The staff were all busy doing their opening preparations and I didn't really want to be in their way so I tried to be as inconspicuous as possible.

I ended up finding my way to the empty dance floor and I noticed that their DJ was actually an android of some sort and not an actual real person like I had initially thought.

I realised that because their head was currently detached from their body and someone was hovering over the body with their personal terminal out and displaying several lines of text on it.

Curious about that, I went over to the DJ booth to take a look at it, seeing that this would be my first time seeing a human shaped robot after all.

The person whom I assumed was a programmer was busy typing into his personal terminal and didn't even notice my approach.

Looking at the robot DJ, it was in the shape of a human girl but there was no mistaking it to be a robot because of the fact that the body was metallic chrome in colour and only the head was painted to look like human skin. Additionally, you could see the metal skeleton underneath in parts of the robot's limbs.

The guy finally noticed me and stopped his typing to raise an eyebrow at me, "Can I help you?"

"Ah… Just looking around. It's my first time seeing something like this."

"First time seeing a music bot?"

"No. I mean, yes but I was thinking about the fact that this bot is human shaped. All of the bots I've seen are like drones and stuff, not androids."

He went back to typing on his console, "Well, I guess you must have been visiting those remote stations then. Or maybe one of those groups that really despise robots."

I shrugged, "I'm not too sure about that."

"Are you one of those who hate robots?"

"Not in particular. I have no opinions about it."

"Hmm… And here I thought you were going to come here and start whining about how we're using a bot to DJ instead of a real human."

"I assume you get that a lot?"

The guy sighed, "There were more of them at the start but they've grown tired of it now so not anymore. If you ask me, they're just the talentless and lazy idiots who have nothing going for them so they take out their frustrations on bots."

"I thought it was because of the AI Rebellion that made people hate robots?"

He snorted at that, "Hmph, that happened so long ago and there's already measures in place to prevent something similar from happening again. I say that we as humans are wasting a very big potential by not even trying to make use of them. The good thing is that there's at least some changes being made to make use of AI again but everyone's still being too cautious."

Huh… So I guess this means that not everyone on the human's side really hates AIs and there are groups that are trying to bring them back into use again?

This guy also seems really passionate about this which I guess was the reason why he was even working this job in the first place.

He then glanced at me with a raised eyebrow, "Are you interested in androids too?"

"Well… I would be lying if I said I wasn't. But why?"

"There's actually a site where you can buy androids. I can send you a link if you want. They are pretty pricey though, just letting you know."

Oh? Well that definitely sounds interesting. I'll take a look then~
