Chapter 162: Chapter 162: A Real Wedding Night

Jett Sterling’s heart clenched. "What’s wrong with my wife?!"

The person on the other end hesitated. "I can’t really say. I’ll send you the location. You should just come over first."

Jett Sterling quickly received the location. It was the apartment Vivian Quinn used to rent!

"What is it with Vivian Quinn now?" Wendy Reeves stepped forward and asked. "How does she manage to stir up so much trouble all day long?"

Jett Sterling’s face darkened as he shot her a look.

Wendy Reeves flinched. "I’m just speaking the truth. If she didn’t run all over the place, none of this would happen, right?"

Jett Sterling ignored her, his mind completely on Vivian Quinn. He left Sycamore Bay immediately and headed for the apartment.

The car reached the apartment at top speed. Jett Sterling knocked anxiously on the door. "Vivian? Vivian?"

The door swung open quickly, revealing Vivian Quinn’s radiant smile.

The moment Jett Sterling saw that she was safe and sound, his anxious heart finally settled.

"Vivian, what was that phone call I just got all about?"

"Come in."

The moment Jett Sterling entered, he saw that the room had been decorated to be exceptionally romantic.

Vivian Quinn closed the door. "It’s safe here, and the curtains are drawn. You can get up now."

Jett Sterling stood up from his wheelchair, stepping onto the soft carpet as he walked into the room. "Have you been here all evening decorating?"

"Yes," Vivian Quinn said, hugging him from behind. Her voice was gentle yet firm. "Jett, I know you didn’t sleep well last night because of the baby issue. I want to tell you that your worries are valid right now, so I’ll listen to you. We won’t have a child for the time being."

"But I don’t want this to make you lose sleep or your appetite. It wasn’t easy for us to get together in the first place, so we should cherish every day and be happy."

Every word she spoke seemed to carry an indescribable power, warming Jett Sterling’s cold heart.

The man slowly turned around and cupped her face. "Vivian, thank you for being by my side."

"We’re married. You don’t need to say that."

Gentleness flooded Jett Sterling’s eyes. "Vivian, I will love you forever."

"Me too." Vivian Quinn bit her lower lip and secretly placed something from her palm into his hand. "Mr. Sterling, tonight is our real wedding night."

Jett Sterling looked down and couldn’t help but chuckle. "Mrs. Sterling, you only prepared one?"

Vivian Quinn: "..."

"How many more could you possibly want?!"

"You’ll see."

Before Vivian Quinn could say a word, her lips were sealed by his.

The two of them kissed as they moved toward the bed, soon tumbling into the soft covers.

A night of passion unfolded...

...

The next morning, Vivian Quinn was jolted awake by the urgent ringing of a cell phone.

She felt completely drained of strength, aching and sore from head to toe.

Scenes from the previous night flooded her mind like a movie montage, and she had half a mind to strangle the man beside her.

They had been intimate from their very first meeting, and that initial experience had been terrible. But she never expected that even after mentally preparing herself, last night would still be excruciatingly painful.

No matter how much she cried, screamed, and begged him to stop, the man had been completely unmoved!

Vivian Quinn kept her eyes closed, reaching toward the source of the sound. She fumbled for the phone on the nightstand and, without seeing whose it was, swiped to answer. "Hello?"

"Miss Quinn?" Shirley Wentworth’s anxious voice came through the phone. "Where are you? Elle is having another episode!"

"What?" Vivian Quinn shot up. "Have the doctors try to stabilize him! I’m on my way back!"

The man beside her quickly opened his eyes. "What’s wrong?"

"Elle’s having an episode! We have to get back right away!"

"Okay."

The two of them got ready as quickly as possible. By the time they rushed back to Sycamore Bay, Elle had already fallen into a deep, unconscious sleep.

"How is Elle?"

The doctor reported, "Ma’am, the young master’s pain was unbearable, so I had no choice but to give him medication to suppress it."

"Okay. Thank you for your hard work. Tell me the dosage you used."

The doctor reported the details accurately.

Vivian Quinn nodded. "The dosage is fine. I just don’t know if there will be any side effects when Elle wakes up. We’ll have to wait and see."

"Understood."

Shirley Wentworth’s heart ached as she held Elle’s hand, choking back sobs. "My poor child... Mommy is so sorry. I’m sorry you have to suffer like this..."

Wendy Reeves was seething. "Where were you two last night? Why didn’t you come back? If Vivian Quinn had been here, Elle wouldn’t have had to suffer so much!"

"As a married couple, we have our own lives; they can’t revolve entirely around one child," Jett Sterling said coldly. "Nanny Jenner, pack her things and have her leave Sycamore Bay. From now on, she is not to set foot in this house again without my permission."

Nanny Jenner looked conflicted, unsure whether to obey or refuse.

"Jett, what did you say?" Wendy Reeves stared at him in disbelief. "You’re kicking me out?"

"Besides finding fault with Vivian every day, what else do you do?" Jett Sterling stared at her coldly. "I’ve warned you many times, but you’ve ignored every word. Since that’s the case, you can’t blame me for this."

"No, you can’t make me leave! I have to stay here with Elle!"

"Elle’s condition requires Vivian’s care right now. Instead of being kinder to her, you make things difficult for her at every turn. I’ve told you before, Vivian is the true mistress of this house. Everyone else is secondary, including you." Jett Sterling’s tone was final. "Go back to your own villa. I will ensure you want for nothing, but I will not allow you to bully her here."

Vivian Quinn’s nose tingled, and she was moved beyond words.

But she didn’t want to affect the relationship between mother and son because of her.

"Let it go. It’s not a big deal." Vivian Quinn tugged on Jett Sterling’s sleeve. "She’s just worried about Elle. I can understand that."

"Stay out of this. Let her go home and reflect on her actions," Jett Sterling said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Nanny Jenner, what are you standing there for? Did you not hear me?"

Nanny Jenner could only nod. "Yes, Young Master."

Jett Sterling maneuvered his wheelchair to leave, and Wendy Reeves chased after him.

"Jett, don’t do this to me. I don’t want to go..."

"Well, well, what’s all this commotion?" a boisterous voice called out from the doorway as Ian Sterling walked in. "What are you all doing?"

Nanny Jenner glanced at Ian Sterling. "Master Ian, please don’t add to the chaos. The house is already messy enough."

"What happened?" Ian Sterling asked curiously. "Vivian Quinn, are you causing trouble again?"

"Are you asking for a beating?" Vivian Quinn glared at him. "This has nothing to do with you, so stay out of it."

Ian Sterling’s mouth twitched. The next second, as if he’d discovered a new continent, he gasped out, "Holy shit, Vivian Quinn! You and my little uncle play that rough?!"

Shirley Wentworth, who had just come out of the room intending to plead Wendy Reeves’s case, followed Ian Sterling’s gaze and was stunned to see the hickey on Vivian Quinn’s neck!
