Bolgharu is the chief of the Bolghar tribe.

The name would not make sense to people that does not understand the history of the Bolghar tribe.

The tribe of the Great Steppe usually has a banner. And this banner usually has the crest or the symbol of the tribe

Most of the tribes, at least the most powerful or the biggest tribe would put wolves, snakes, vipers, scorpions, and other animals of the Steppe on their banners and crest like they were borrowing the traits of these animals to strengthen them when they fight against their enemies.

But the Bolghar tribe has a different kind of symbol that they draw on their banner. It is not animals or words from the Old Empires.

It is a shield.

A simple shield.

No decoration on the shield.

An empty shield.

That is how it was in the beginning.

But a few hundred years ago, a Bolghar chief of that era lead their men to fight against the soldiers of the Yan dynasty and win a great victory.

The Ashana then said that to commemorate the great victory against the invaders of Yan, the great chief is to make a scratch on the shield

This is to mark a great victory.

And so, the empty shield now has one scratch.

Then around two hundred years ago, the cavalry of the Western Zhou march towards the Great Steppe.

From the beginning, the Western Zhou is more interested in breaking the area of the Western Great Steppe and open up a pathway for the Western Zhou to break toward the east in the future.

The plan was to break through to the lower Southern Great Steppe and then rode north to encircle the Great Steppe tribes that is in the Western Great Steppe

But to do such a strategy, the first tribe they need to break was the Bolghar tribe that stands firm in the lower part of the Great Steppe.

The generals of Western Zhou look down on the people of the Steppe and as they would learn later, it is a taboo to underestimate the enemy.

The more you underestimate your enemy, the easier it is for your enemy to surprise you.

And that is what the chief of the Bolghar tribe managed to do at that time. Surprise forces that break through the invasion forces.

Harassing the army at night, sneak attack in the morning, shock troops that attack in the afternoon and warriors that hides among the valleys and the hills and ambush them every step of the way.

Before they could even seethe Bolghar tribe main settlements, they lost their morale and when the chief manage to rush through a thousand troop to take the head of three generals of Western Zhou, that army of Western Zhou collapsed completely, routed and had to retreat

In their retreat, even more of Western Zhou soldier dies as they were attacked from behind.

The chief of the Bolghar tribe at that time managed to not only defend the Western Great Steppe, he breaks the plan of the strategist of Western Zhou, kills the generals of Western Zhou and inflict great damage to the vitality of Western Zhou

And he did not stop there.

The chief of the Bolghar tribe at that time believe that if they did not inflict more damage, a few years later, the Western Zhou would seek revenge and would send another invasion forces and so the Bolghar chief convinced the other western border tribes to follow him to go through the Eastern Pass of Western Zhou and attack the villages and the cities of Western Zhou.

The Ashana promoted the matters, and ten chief and a few dozen small tribe chief follow Bolghar chief tribe, rode their horses to the Eastern Pass, break through the pass, raided the villages and burns and loot all the way

Villages were burned, cities were sacked and people and all living beings were all eradicated!

The vengeance of the grassland burns through the land of Western Zhou!

The momentum was overwhelming and shock heaven and Earth!

And then they move forward all the way toward the capital forcing the Emperor to send a message to the main force that was attacking the western border to return to the capital and lift the siege .

It was at this time, the Bolghar chief then retreated, divided themselves into dozen of splinter forces to return home making it hard for the army to chase them down.

That Bolghar chief returns home a great hero and a great saviour of the western border tribe.

Another scratch was added.

To add a scratch to the name is the lifelong wish of any chief of the Bolghar tribe. It means they did not let down the name of the Bolghar

Hence, the name Bolgharu by the previous chief shows how much he held hope for his son to add another scratch to the shield of the tribe.

It would forever be remembered in the tribe and as long as the Bolghar tribe survives in the Great Steppe and the banner is there, the symbol is there the Bolghar tribe would not lose its identity no matter how many years had passed

For the scratch on the shield would always remind them of the great immortal deeds of their ancestors.

No one expected that Bolghar tribe would adopt a lightning raid at night.

No, there is such possibility but the possibility is low.

But no one expected that the force that they would send is so large and the method is so swift

Because Bolghar tribe send around seven thousand warriors. And they split into three, taking down any small tribes and those who did not attack them they would let go.

To go as fast as possible to destroy Burka tribe before any of the allied tribe knows what happened.

A night passed and the victory is determined!

That is the plan of Bolgharu.

It is like Aeryon feat of defeating the Xewa warriors at night, riding through the night to quickly annihilate the Xewa tribe

Because of that swift lightning attack, Aeryon could quickly take over the former area of the Xewa tribe and the other tribes nearby did not have anything to say

Because they were so shocked and the winner is already determined. Bolgharu also wanted to do such a thing

So, he sent his warrior, leading the three forces forward, two forces to protect the rear

Three in the front, two in the back.

This is risky.

Because there is a chance that Bolghar army would be surrounded if the rear forces is destroyed.
