"Let’s see how that person deals with this." The demon said with a demonic smile on his face.

The others that surrounded the throne all nodded in agreement.

However, it seemed like they had worried looks in their eyes as well.

It seemed that they didn’t share the same confidence as the demon on the throne.

Especially one who was dressed in scanty clothes with horns on her head and a tail behind her.

This was the succubus who had attacked Lin Fan in his room.

That was what was slowly spreading through the crowd after we jumped down into the valley.

When we looked up at the sky, we found that it had suddenly turned red.

I deeply knitted my brows when I saw this. It wasn’t because I could sense something from the red sky, but rather because the system had sensed something the moment that I looked up at the sky.

It was demonic energy that was strong enough to completely dye the sky red, that phenomenon alone was enough to show just what kind of power this demonic energy held.

This was clearly anything but normal demonic energy.

Only I knew that the system had said that it was possible for me to be corrupted by it, so I quickly raised my hand and created a barrier around us.

This barrier was different from the normal barrier that I would have used.

This barrier was created with a golden energy that I had found inside of my dantian since that battle with the little flower. This was an energy that I hadn’t even been aware of at first, but then I noticed that it had grown stronger after the fight with the bookworm.

While I didn’t know what this golden energy was, I was reminded of the golden energy that appeared whenever the guardians of the system came out.

It seemed like the power that they used.

So even if I didn’t know what this power was, I could still feel the power that came from it. When I used it with my laws, there was this golden hue that appeared in those laws that seemed to make them much stronger than before.

That was why I was able to create this golden barrier around us.

The others seemed confused when they saw the golden barrier appear, but they didn’t remain confused for long as they pulled out their weapons and raised their guards. After all, they knew that I wouldn’t just put up this golden barrier for no reason.

The fact that I would put it up meant that there was something that would happen.

They just had no idea what this thing would be.

The fighting was still happening around us, but it didn’t seem like the demons and demonic cultivators were able to fight back against the ones that that were here to participate in the Demon Slaying Conference.

It seemed that the coordination between those from the sects and the mercenary groups was just too much for the demonic cultivators and the demons. They just couldn’t help being surrounded by them even though they were at the same level of cultivation.

It didn’t seem like the demonic energy that filled the air was doing anything to help those demonic cultivators or the demons.

That was until there were drops of water that suddenly started falling from the sky.

The drops of water became stronger and stronger until it was a full blown shower of rain.

However, there was something strange about this rain that fell down in this valley.

It was hard to notice at first since it was only a few drops of rain at first, but the more and more drops that fell, the easier it was to notice.

Just like how the sky had turned red, the colour of the rain had also changed.

Those with sharper senses would be able to feel the demonic energy that filled the strange scarlet rain that fell down. Though it wasn’t strong enough to actually affect anyone directly if it fell on them.

So none of the cultivators that came for the Demon Slaying Conference felt a thing as the strange scarlet rain fell on them, other than being annoyed that it was suddenly raining like this.

However, the same couldn’t be said for the demonic cultivators and demons that they were facing.

It was only a small change at first, but it seemed like they were becoming stronger.

It wasn’t that they were recovering their spiritual energy because of the strange scarlet rain that was filled with demonic energy. It was that they were becoming stronger than they were before.

The situation almost seemed like all of the demonic cultivators and the demons were breaking through their limits because of the strange scarlet rain falling on them.

They were becoming stronger than they were before this.

So even if the cultivators from the sects and mercenary groups worked together, it didn’t seem like their arrays were having any effect as they were simply overpowered by the demons and demonic cultivators.

The tide had turned all of a sudden because of this strange scarlet rain that fell.

I couldn’t help knitting my brows after seeing this, but there was nothing that I could do for them. Especially since we were also soon surrounded by the demonic cultivator and demons that had been freed from fighting the others.

Though, it didn’t seem like any of their attacks had any effects on the golden barrier that I summoned out.

As such, the lackeys were able to easily deal with them with a few simple attacks from inside of the golden barrier.
