Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 382: Why are you invading?
The sand emperor looked desperate at this point.
With the appearance of Gao Fu Shuai, it seemed that a way to suppress the sand emperor had finally appeared.
Even though the sand emperor still tried to fight back by using the sand around it to create blades that it sent at the four spirit beasts, it wasn’t able to break through their defenses. Or rather, the defenses of the three Transcendence Realm Beasts.
At the same time, since Gao Fu Shuai was able to take away the sand of the sand emperor, it really wasn’t able to do anything big.
Every time that it tried to gather its power for one of its big attacks, Gao Fu Shuai would use his Void Sword Law to slash at him.
The Void Sword Law sword energy would cut right through the sand that the sand emperor was gathering for its attack. Once the sand was cut through, it didn’t regenerate, it seemed like it had been wiped from this world.
That was the Void Sword Law’s power to erase things into the void.
The amount of sand that made up the body of the sand emperor slowly decreased and as it decreased, the size of the sand emperor also decreased. It seemed at this rate, it would disappear without a trace.
Even with the desperate struggle of the sand emperor, it still wasn’t able to break free with the addition of Gao Fu Shuai’s power.
At first, the sand emperor acted as if it didn’t seem worried at all as it didn’t say a thing, though it was clear that it was panicking with the way that it was desperately firing off attacks. But it seemed that the sand emperor’s pride was just too much for it to start saying anything, which was why it was silent.
Only when it reached half of its original size, it suddenly said, "You can’t do this! I am the great emperor of the Sand Empire! This is my land! You are all invaders!"
It seemed that it had cast aside all of the pride that it had previously and was now just doing all that it could to survive.
It didn’t even care that saying this made it seem desperate.
Pride meant nothing in front of its life.
But even though it seemed like it was about to start begging for its life, I didn’t care at all as I just had everyone continue to attack the sand emperor. As the attacks continued landing on the sand emperor, it continued to shrink.
Eventually, it reached a tenth of its size.
It was tiny compared to how it had been when it first appeared, but it still tightly clenched the staff that it had been holding.
It was as if it wouldn’t let go of that staff no matter what happened.
Once it was in this weakened state, I finally had Gao Fu Shuai stop attacking.
He was confused why I wanted him to stop, but that didn’t stop him from listening to my orders and restraining himself. He stood on the side and waited to see what I was planning to do as I walked towards the restrained sand emperor.
The sand emperor naturally also saw me walking towards it, so it looked up at me and said, "Do you know what you are doing to this emperor? Do you think that you will get away with this?"
"The True Sand Upper Realm? Is that where you are from?" I just completely ignored the threat of the sand emperor and just asked this question.
The sand emperor didn’t say anything.
It was hard to tell what it was feeling since it didn’t have a face in the first place, but based on the way that it was just frozen there, it seemed that it was completely stunned that it had been exposed like this.
It seemed that I had hit the nail on the head with this question.
That meant that there was something else that I could ask.
It was something that I had wanted to ask this whole time, but I never found the opportunity to ask this question.
"Why are you and the others invading this lower realm? Is there something special about this place that you’ve all chosen to invade this lower realm? If it was just for the resources and the people of this lower realm, then it wouldn’t be worth it for you to do all of this. There must be something that you want here." My brows slowly started to knit as I asked this.
This was something that had been bothering me for a while now, but I had never said it out loud because I didn’t have anyone to ask this to.
I knew that it would be impossible to get an answer for this question from the system, so all I could do was ask the invaders.
The sand emperor remained silent after I had finished asking my question.
It just looked up at me without saying a single thing as if it was sizing me up.
There was a long silence that lingered in the air before the sand emperor finally broke it by saying, "Which upper realm are you from? There’s no way that someone like you is from a lower realm. It’s clear that you have some kind of upper realm backing you or else you wouldn’t be able to take out all these things."
Then with a sigh, it said, "Why are you asking these kinds of things in the first place? We’re nothing more than pawns in a bigger game, we just have to fulfill our parts. There’s no need for you to try and skip over the heads of your superiors to try finding out what they are planning."
In a more serious tone, it said, "In truth, there’s no need for us to compete like this. It’s clear that we’re after the same thing, so we can work together. What do you think?"
The only response that I gave it was a single flick of my finger.
