Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 377: City under the sand
There was a giant city that was buried under the Tarask Desert.
That was what was currently in front of me.
I just sat there on Bolt’s back, looking down at the scene in front of me in shock.
I never would have thought that there would be this kind of thing under that large desert, but there was no denying it since it was right in front of me.
At the same time, I started to understand why the system said that the invader wasn’t the source.
It seemed that there was much more to the Tarask Desert than everyone thought.
But that just made me wonder why no one had ever discovered this city before.
It wasn’t as if there weren’t experts that had come to explore the Tarask Desert, it was just that no one had ever discovered this city before. Or perhaps there have been people that discovered this city before and they never mentioned it?
Perhaps they kept it hidden because they wanted all of the treasures that were in the city for themselves.
Or perhaps there was a reason why they kept it hidden.
This wasn’t something that I knew about, so it wasn’t as if I could guess the answer.
The only thing that I could do was ask around when I went back to the Star Peak Sect. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
It didn’t matter to me if I exposed the existence of this hidden underground city since I would be leaving for the upper realm once I was finished here. It was something for the people of this lower realm to deal with.
I couldn’t help being a bit surprised as that thought passed through my mind.
It seemed that I was slowly thinking of myself as someone from the upper realm.
It wasn’t that I was being treated that way, it was just that I was about to go there because of my system.
Most people would be worried about going up to the upper realm since there were many things that they had to face before heading up. But for me, I didn’t have to think about these things because I had my system.
I knew that the system would take care of these things for me, so I could already think of myself as someone from the upper realm.
It really was a strange feeling, but it wasn’t as if I disliked it.
It was similar to how a prodigal young master should act.
I shook my head to throw these thoughts out of my mind before focusing on the city that was in front of me.
This was a very large city, even bigger than the capital of the Roaring Tiger Empire, the biggest empire that I had visited. It seemed that whoever this city belonged to in the past, they were a very large power.
It wouldn’t have been surprising if they had ruled the continent at one point.
But that just raised the question of...what happened to them and why did this city sink like this?
It didn’t seem right that a power that could build a city like this would fall and have their city buried.
It seemed like something must have happened that their civilization fell like this.
Still, I stopped myself once again since I was getting distracted.
This wasn’t something that I was supposed to worry about, what was important was trying to find the red dot in this large city.
A bitter smile appeared on my face when that thought filled my mind.
Even if I had a map that showed a red dot where the target was, it wasn’t as if this was the best thing to help me find it. After all, there were just so many buildings that it would be impossible for me to find where it was based on this single dot.
I was sure that the system would give me a function that would allow me to zoom, but instead...there was something else that I wanted.
"Can you give me another 3D map just like before?" I asked without any shame.
Since the system had shown that it could do it once, naturally I wanted the system to provide the same service as before.
But this time, the system said, "Please get closer to the red dot first."
"Does it matter if I get closer or not?" I couldn’t help asking in a surprised voice.
The system once again repeated, "Please get closer to the red dot first."
In truth, the system really wanted to say...
"A 3D scan with spiritual sense of the entire city? Do you know how long that would take? The cave was one thing since it was just a bunch of tunnels, but this city is completely different!"
Though the system would never actually say that out loud.
Since the system had stressed this, I knew that it wouldn’t change its mind that easily.
In that case, I moved closer to the red dot as the system asked.
I landed on the ground near where the red dot was and slowly made my way through the alleys of the city. I could have taken the main road, but I didn’t want to expose myself to the enemy that easily, which was why I took the alleys.
Though there was still the chance that the enemy would have found me since this was its territory.
Still, I wanted to be as careful as possible, which was why I still took the alley.
Only I met another problem when I approached the red dot.
That was because I found where the red dot was.
I had to look up since this building was just too big.
When I was looking at the map earlier, the distance wasn’t good enough that I was able to judge which building the red dot was hiding in.
But now that I had gotten closer, I immediately realized which building it was in.
This was the building that was right in the center of the city.
It was the palace of the one that ruled over this city.
