Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 335: I need to leave
After she swallowed the pill, the eyes of Bing Xin’s mother started to change.
They had been clouded at first, but after swallowing the pill, it was as if those clouds were slowly clearing. It was as if she was finally seeing clearly after a very long time.
As the clouds in her eyes began to clear, the expression on her face also changed. It was as if there were no longer any chaotic thoughts that were bothering her, as if she was regaining her normal thoughts.
Bing Xin’s mother just sat there in a daze as if she was organizing her thoughts.
Seeing the changes on her mother’s face, Bing Xin’s eyes started to fill with hope. However, there was also a trace of fear in her eyes as well as if she felt that this might fail.
Eventually, her mother suddenly turned to look at her.
Bing Xin trembled when she felt her mother’s gaze falling on her. There was fear and excitement that was in her eyes at the same time, though there was certainly more fear.
There was a silence that lingered in the air until Bing Xin’s mother broke it by slowly saying, "Xiao Bing?"
Bing Xin’s eyes trembled when she heard this.
She looked at her mother with a look that was almost as if she was in disbelief before slowly saying, "Mom?"
Bing Xin’s mother gave a slight nod before reaching her arm out for her.
Bing Xin went forward to hug her, but before she could...she was suddenly stopped by a stench that hit her.
Both Bing Xin and her mother looked down at the same time to see that the bed had been dyed black. There was this black liquid that came out of Bing Xin’s mother’s body that dyed the bed.
The stench was something that was hard to endure.
There was an awkward moment between mother and daughter, but eventually Bing Xin went to help her mother wash up.
Since she was helping her mother wash up, it wasn’t right for me to stay here, so I went outside and waited.
When she was done and called me back, I was surprised to see that Bing Xin’s mother had completely changed. It was as if the haggard appearance that she had before was a lie and that the appearance she had now was her true appearance.
Though she still looked a bit tired and malnourished, it was clear that she was much better than before.
I had already asked the system what the problem was and learned that the medicinal essence of the Clear Spring Pill had helped Bing Xin’s mother clear her impurities. These were the impurities that had gathered in her body over the years of neglecting it, which had caused her body to become weaker and weaker until she could do nothing but sit in her bed.
It was the reason why she had been in the state that she had been in earlier.
So it was actually good for her that these impurities were coming out of her body now.
The appearance that she had now couldn’t be considered beautiful, but it was clear that she was a beauty in the past. It was clear where Bing Xin had inherited her good looks.
When I came back in, Bing Xin’s mother suddenly looked at me and asked, "I’m sorry, but who are you?"
I wasn’t surprised to hear this, so I just calmly explained everything to her.
Bing Xin’s mother had a strange look on her face when she heard all of this, but seeing the way that Bing Xin looked at her, she slowly gave a nod as if she accepted this. At the same time, it seemed that there was a trace of guilt that appeared in her eyes.
Now that her mind had cleared, she understood the things that she had done in the past.
Including the way that she had let her daughter down...
Once I finished explaining, Bing Xin’s mother turned to look at Bing Xin to say, "Tell me everything that has happened. I want to know everything."
There was a complicated look that appeared in Bing Xin’s eyes, but she slowly nodded in agreement before she slowly started telling everything that happened.
It turned out that the fall of Bing Xin’s mother was a gradual descent.
She had been normal when Bing Xin was younger, but her mind started to slip as Bing Xin grew up.
It was unknown why she degraded like this, but if I had to guess...
It was most likely related to Bing Xin growing up to resemble her which reminded her of the past, or it was because the pressure of having to raise a child alone got to her and she missed what she had experienced in the past.
These were the things that were the most common in my opinion.
It was also what I had seen from people that I knew in my past life.
After all, I was a prodigal young master in my past life as well, so there were people that wanted to hang out with me. Some of them were playboys that were just like Bing Xin’s father who had done things that were similar to what Bing Xin and her mother experienced.
As such, I had some understanding of these things.
As for whether I remained friends with those playboys or not...it was better to ask them at their new addresses in the worst part of town.
Once Bing Xin finished telling the story, she just silently looked at her mother, waiting for her reaction.
She could see the pained look that was in her mother’s eyes, but it didn’t seem like Bing Xin blamed her mother for what happened.
But even if Bing Xin didn’t blame her, that didn’t mean that her mother didn’t blame herself.
After a long silence, Bing Xin’s mother tried to stand up as she said, "I need to leave. I can’t stay in this place and ruin your new life."
