Chapter 491: Chapter 210, Battle of Kulona Plains (Part 2)_2

The White Wolf Knights fear not death. Fallen White Wolf Knights will go to Yurik’s Divine Kingdom and live the happiest days there—battling Chaos by day, and returning to the warm campfire by night to enjoy fine wine, roasted meat, and women.

At this moment, reinforcement from the Lake God Prophets finally arrived. Seeing the knights fighting fiercely, the anger of the Lake Fairies could no longer be contained. They chanted their spells. Pure green healing energy broke through the land corrupted by Nurgle’s pollution.

The exhausted knights could feel the green energy rejuvenating their weary bodies and minds, and the wounds from sharp blades began to heal.

Mogiana positioned herself within the protection of the large group of knights. Despite the Lake God Witch having already expended a significant amount of mana during the advance, she still refused to watch the battle with indifference. She silently prayed, "My Lady, I need your help."

In the deepest part of her heart, the Lake Fairy responded to her prayer. Mogiana knew from the obscure and pained voice that her Lady was battling against an Evil God.

The magic power of the Lake God Witch was restored, so she raised her Potion Chalice and began to chant ancient spells.

Above in the sky, the rising sun was overshadowed by a more dazzling light source. A spherical lightning with a radius of tens of meters was forming under Mogiana’s guidance. The lightning was hurled into the densest part of the Nurgle Army, where it exploded, striking hundreds of Chaos Warriors, Divine Chosen Warriors, and Chaos Eggs. Some were killed instantly, while others were swept away by the blast wave.

Then, a Sixth Ring divine art of regeneration was applied to many wounded knights. This mysterious energy protected their damaged bodies and shielded them from attacks. Taking this opportunity, many injured knights regained their vigor and withdrew from battle with the help of their comrades.

The Horned Eagle Beast Biquis was rolling in the air, grabbing two of Nurgle’s Chosen Warriors and crushing their frail bodies into fragments with its claws. Duke of Connet Lorne’s Lion’s Riding Spear, specially blessed and crafted from the soft silver of Brittania, showed no signs of breaking even after piercing through two Chaos Giants.

Mogiana’s lightning granted the knights of Brittania a brief respite, but Lorne knew the knights couldn’t continue fighting like this forever.

The wings of the Horned Eagle Beast Biquis began to show signs of fatigue. Even this world-renowned Fierce Beast felt tired after several consecutive charges, low-level dives, and takeoffs.

The Pegasus Knights were no exception. Pegasi, not well-suited for bearing weight in flight, had expended most of their energy after several diving assaults carrying fully armored knights. Most of the Pegasi had landed, and many Pegasus Knights had perished on the battlefield. Their attacks were deadly but solitary.

"Hang in there, Biquis!" Lorne spotted his target, as the Great Demon Master of Pus was exposed within Mogiana’s spell. The great demon was grabbing a despairing Ranger Knight, intending to tear him apart.

Lorne recognized that Ranger Knight; he appeared to be a subordinate of Baron Gene, named Hex.

"The prize I long for is right ahead! Biquis, fly towards it!" commanded the Duke, and the Horned Eagle Beast screeched in response, getting ready.

The knights were engaged in a life-and-death battle against evil. Lorne’s shout was so striking that the Wound Master got distracted, giving Hex the chance to draw a dagger from his waist and fiercely stab it into the Master’s plump hand.

The decaying skin was pierced, and although the Nurgle Demon wouldn’t feel pain, the dagger soaked in Holy Water affected the Great Demon’s senses. The burning pain reflexively made the demon retract its hand, dropping Hex to the ground. The Ranger Knight, enduring the agony of shifting organs, found a horse whose rider was dead and charged elsewhere.

A perfect dive attack as the Horned Eagle Beast spread its wings and glided towards the Chaos Great Demon. Lorne raised his cavalry lance, aiming at the Great Demon’s throat, one of its weak spots.

The Wound Master turned its body and suddenly grinned a terrifying smile, which alarmed Lorne. The battle-hardened instincts prompted him to instinctively raise his shield.

His shield, known as the Lionheart Shield, had protected him since he first embarked on the Knightly Path. The magic and array upon the shield were activated as always to ensure his safety.

These battle-hardened instincts saved the Duke’s life. From the Wound Master’s mouth spewed a nauseating bile capable of turning an entire knight into a puddle of pus, but the array’s defense deflected it.

The bile obscured Lorne’s vision, and once it cleared, he saw a gigantic fist crawling with maggots and sores: "Foolish, human."

"Boom!" The giant fist struck the Lionheart Shield. The Duke and his Horned Eagle Beast felt an irresistible force. Such terrifying power, even blessed by the Lake Fairy, was something a Holy Grail Knight could not withstand. Lorne felt himself being thrown about seventy to eighty meters away, and the Horned Eagle Beast Biquis screeched as it struggled to regain control until it crashed into a tree.

"Ah! Weak, pathetic, human, the world shall end; your, resistance, is futile!" The Great Nurgle Demon opened its bloodthirsty mouth as the Wound Master charged into the ranks of young knights to start a massacre.

Cavalry lances and longswords were utterly ineffective against such a terrifying entity like the Great Nurgle Demon. While the lance tips and sword blades could slash through the Great Demon’s decayed thick skin, the pain-numbed demon was indifferent. In the endless cycle of decay and regeneration, such damage was negligible compared to its healing speed. The demon’s longsword swept across, killing a dozen Ranger Knights in mere breaths.

Across the vast plains, the knights’ assault gradually got bogged down. Many Ranger Knights found themselves forced into a battle of longswords and long halberds, losing their momentum and being pierced by weapons.

In the distance, Nurgle’s realm remained elusive.

More of the Chaos Army appeared, among them the legendary Chaos Knights.

"Rally! Reform the ranks!" Laine and Boris led the Holy Grail Knights, White Wolf Knights, and Cheetah Knights into the fray; a dozen Holy Grail Knights bloodied but mostly unharmed due to the Lake Fairies’ blessing.

Mogiana merely glared, reducing two Chaos Warriors to shards, her mana seething at her fingertips, causing several Chaos Eggs to burst via the outstretched tree branch arms from the ground, transforming into a bloody rain.

From within the orderly advancing ranks of sergeants and militiamen, Laine and the others charged out to finally reunite with Mogiana. The Lake God Witch observed the scattered knights on the plains and said to Laine, "Lorne sustained minor injuries, nothing serious, but his Horned Eagle Beast needs rest. The enemy keeps growing in number, and at this rate, we won’t last until the Knight Army arrives."

Laine focused intently on the Great Nurgle Demon. The Wound Master laughed madly and extended its plump hand. Among the knights’ formation, Nurgle magic exploded, reducing dozens of knights to fragments, which then melted into a pool of pus.

"Lady, save me!"

"Oh god, nothing can hurt this thing!"

"It’s so fast!"

The Chaos Army was regrouping, and the knights’ numbers were dwindling rapidly. The Ranger Knights desperately realized their feeble attacks could not harm the Chaos Great Demon, and their resolve began to falter.

"We must defeat the Great Demon; otherwise, Nurgle’s reinforcements will be endless, and we will fail eventually!" Laine fixated on the invincible Great Demon.

To achieve victory, there’s only one way left.

"Reform and line up! My warriors, today’s grand prize is right there!"
