Walker Of The Worlds-Chapter 2668: Encountering Hunters
"Should I go hunt for some ingredients?" Little Shrubby asked.
"Yeah, it’ll be time for dinner soon, and we may as well try some local beast meat for that," Lin Mu agreed. "Meng Bai is just in the Core Condensation realm, so he still needs to eat more. Beast meat will be good for his growth," he added.
"Alright, I’ll hunt lots of beasts," Little Shrubby replied.
"Make sure to get spirit beasts too. He can’t eat Immortal Beasts yet," Lin Mu reminded.
"Okay. I’ll keep that in mind," Little Shrubby replied before rushing away.
’I’ll have to make sure to keep the dishes separate. If he accidentally eats Immortal Beast meat, he might just explode,’ Lin Mu thought to himself.
It was best to be careful rather than let something like that happen.
With Little Shrubby gone, Lin Mu took a walk around the area. While he had already scanned the ten-kilometer radius, he reckoned it was better to get a physical look too.
The sounds of the forest were prominent as evening approached. The sun had not yet started to set, but the animals already knew that it would be dark soon, so they began to move back to their nests. Birds could be seen flying across the sky while the distant cries of beasts filled the air as nocturnal predators awakened to the sounds of their prey.
Every sound was picked up by Lin Mu as he took a relaxing walk through the forest.
A short while later, he saw a deer run through a bush in front of him. The beast was about two meters tall, with its horns even taller.
The beast sensed his presence and glanced at him but didn’t stop, simply continuing its run.
"Hmm… Venison might be nice," Lin Mu muttered and flicked his wrist.
SHING
Afternoon Pine flew out and pierced through the neck of the deer, making it collapse instantly.
Since it was in motion, it slid down the ground for a few meters before stopping.
Lin Mu went up and glanced at the deer.
"Oh, a High Crown Deer. This should taste nice," he identified before storing it in his ring.
While Little Shrubby was also hunting, it wouldn’t hurt to have a bit more food.
He continued on his walk while hunting a few beasts he found interesting and also picked up some herbs along the way. They weren’t too rare or valuable, but Lin Mu wondered if they would taste good. He decided to leave the testing to Little Shrubby later.
A few minutes later, he heard a few voices coming from the distance.
"Stop it!"
"Cut off its path! Don’t let it get away!"
Lin Mu, who heard them, stopped.
’Hmm, they’re not far.’ Lin Mu sensed that they were just a kilometer away from him.
Several Immortal Qi signatures could be felt by him, four of which belonged to humans, but two seemed to belong to beasts.
They seemed to be running and were chasing after the beasts.
’Hunters?’ Lin Mu guessed.
Just a few seconds later, he sensed that the beasts had changed their direction and were now coming toward him.
The beasts were fast, and soon they were right in front of Lin Mu, making him narrow his eyes.

RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE
The bushes and shrubs shook as the beasts jumped out of them.
It was another two deer beasts. These were even bigger than the High Crown Deer that Lin Mu had seen earlier and were stronger too, being at the Second Tribulation Stage of the Immortal Realm.
Both of the deers were the same species and had a pair of horns that looked like sharp thorns. They were much more jagged and at wide angles, unlike the smooth, curving horns of most deer. But that wasn’t all—their teeth were also different than normal deer.
Curved fangs lined their mouths while blood dripped down from them. Their noses were bony and ended in an upward curl, while their hooves had raised spikes above them. Their tails similarly ended in a spiky growth, while brown fur lined their bodies.
’What are these?’ Lin Mu wondered, unable to identify them right away.
The two deers looked at Lin Mu and did not show a hint of fear. Instead, they charged right at him as if wishing to trample him.
REEEHHHHHHH
The two deers let out a cry as they rushed toward Lin Mu, their sharp horns pointed at him.
Lin Mu’s eyes went wide as he extended his hands toward the front.
SHUA
Searing hot energy rose from his body and turned into a pair of rocky gauntlets that covered his arms.
CLANG CLANG
Lin Mu blocked their horns with his hands while gripping their thorns between his fingers.
REEEEHHHHHH
The two deers were stopped and cried in anger while trying to push Lin Mu. But their strength was no match for him, as he held them in place.
TWANG TWANG TWANG
Three arrows were shot out from behind and landed on the two deers, piercing their bodies and making them cry again.
"We hit them!" the men chasing the deers shouted.
A few seconds later, they came out of the bush too and saw the clash in front of them.
Lin Mu observed them and found that three of them were injured, with clear bite marks on their shoulders and arms.
’Looks like they got bitten by the deers,’ Lin Mu thought.
The men glanced at him too, feeling surprised.
"Who’s that?" one of them asked.
"No idea," another person replied. "Another hunter, perhaps?"
"Fellow Daoist, can you help us take down those beasts?" the man who seemed to be their leader requested. "We’ll give you your share of the spoils," he added.
Lin Mu didn’t answer, instead twisting his hands.
REEEEHHHH
The deers cried as they found their necks getting twisted by the force Lin Mu was applying to their horns. Find your next adventure on novelbuddy
The two deers unable to bear Lin Mu’s strength and were tossed to the ground.
THUD THUD
The men stood in awe at the display of strength, exchanging glances among themselves.
