VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn-Chapter 233 Cursed Cape
Chapter 233 Cursed Cape
The first thing Arthur paid attention to was the thickness of the dark cape. It was very thin and felt just a bit thicker than paper which was strange as looking at it one would find it hard to tell.
"The color of the cape makes it hard to tell that… though why would a cape be this thin? They're supposed to be thick aren't they?" Arthur wondered.
Then next thing he picked up on was the texture of the cape. It was very smooth, as if made out of fine silk and yet he could tell it wasn't silk either.
'Definitely some kind of magical fabric… and surely has enchantment on it.' He thought.
One other thing was the color of the dark cape. Arthur realized the inner side of the cape was actually a bit more dark than the outer side. It was hard to describe though as one could only tell that at a close look.
If the outside was pitch black, then the inner side was like the abyss. Looking at it too long would make one feel uncomfortable and even make those with weaker Will stat feel dizzy.
Having done his basic assessment, Arthur moved onto the true analysis.
"Dragon's Insight!" Arthur activated his top appraisal skill.
>Dragon's Insight has Successfully activated!<
"Yes!" Seeing that it could fully work, Arthur was happy.

The cape was beyond what Arthur would have ever expected it to be.
"The Night's Abyssal Cape… made from the divinity of NYX!" Arthur couldn't hold himself back from shouting.
This was a far bigger matter than he would have ever thought. This was an item that could be compared to the Veil of A Thousand Skins. 𝘣𝘦𝑑𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝑙.𝘯𝑒𝘵
'No wait, there area still some differences. The Veil of A Thousand Skins was personally made by Loki, but this was made by an artisan… but since it has the divinity of a god it is still very good.
Though was the divinity of Nyx given willingly or not?' Arthur thought to himself.
The difference between the two situations was very vast. If given willingly, it meant that the item had the backing of the deity in question. But if the divinity was obtained through different means, it could be very dangerous.
In some cases, the divinity of a deity or a god could be found residing either freely or in some vessel. This could be used by the players or NPCs in various ways.
If it was a part of divinity that was given willingly as a reward or a transaction, it was still fine but if it was stolen things would take a bad turn.
As long as the deity in the question did not know about it, the player could use the item with almost no issues. But if they were to find out somehow, it would basically mean not only forfeiting the item, but also getting divine punishment as well.
And right now Arthur had no way of figuring that out.
'Even with Dragon's Insight, that kind of information is not present. Either it was never recorded in the object, or I need the skill's proficiency to be even higher.' Arthur thought to himself. 'The curses on it though… are a bit questionable.'
This wasn't Arthur's first time seeing cursed equipment. They were basically items that one would normally have to be at a high level to equip, but could now had lower requirement due to the curse on it.
While it made the items more accessible, it also brought debuffs and bad effects that one might not like.
As long as one was able to manage a workaround or just accept them though, the cursed items could actually be very useful.
"But for it to be a Curse of Binding…" Arthur frowned.
Curse of Binding was one of the most problematic of curses for players who needed to switch equipment a lot as they grew stronger. The curse made it impossible to remove it through normal means, and players would often need divine intervention or a special item to remove them.
'At least for this there is an option to remove it… Sacrificial Removal.' Arthur had heard of this Active skill before though it was incredibly rare.
In fact, only two instances of it had ever been seen in the game. Players were certainly interested in it, but due to the bad effects they didn't really make use of the items.
The Sacrificial Removal active skill was usually accompanied by either a Curse of Binding or as a compliment to another skill that countered it.
For example, some equipment had the ability to dispel all debuffs when removed but it came with the Sacrificial Removal skill too. It basically meant if one wanted to dispel those debuffs they would not only remove their armor, but also lose their HP.
