[Still at Agent Helios POV]

Seeing her back, my expression immediately softened as if the suffocating air was gone in an instant. Before I knew it, I was staring at her.

’Right. I have a partner who can help me in these kinds of situations. I wonder if she’ll help me a little? But then, she might still be angry at me.’

"Ah, if it isn’t Ms. Kim," Ms. Choi replied to her. "I’m Mira Choi, daughter of Roy Choi, one of his father’s business partners," she introduced herself. "Forgive me for occupying this space right now, but we’re talking about something important. If you don’t mind, spare us some time to talk, and you can use my reserved seat instead over there."

What the—what did she just say? The nerve of this woman! How could she ask my wife to sit somewhere else?!

Scoffing, I opened my mouth to defend Ye-Ji, but I was a second late. She already replied to her with much confidence.

"There’s no need to worry about me, Ms. Choi," she said. "You can continue talking all you want. I already have a seat."

Then, she walked toward me and, to my surprise, sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck. She even leaned her head on my shoulder, acting like a cute, spoiled wife as she should be.

"What else could be the best seat for me but my husband’s lap, right?"

She smiled so sweetly at me and touched my face gently. The moment she did, my heart suddenly began to hammer in my chest.

Ba-dump! Ba-dump! Ba-dump!

Her hands felt warm. And for some reason, I wasn’t repulsed by her touch.

Now that I think about it, she even sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around me, but I didn’t find it sickening. Whenever we kissed, I never once felt disgusted by her. Or when she undressed in the boutique before and changed into her suit, I didn’t feel anything bad. Was it because I knew she had no interest in me? Yeah, it must be. And she never looked at me like a hungry hyena.

Instead of disgust, it felt... natural, comfortable even. It was as if I didn’t mind where her hands touched me, where her lips kissed me, or whatever she did—wait, no. I would probably still be repulsed if she tried doing more than that. Ugh. Why am I even thinking this? Anyway, I should reply.

"Ha-ha-ha. Of course, my dear wife," I replied with a chuckle. And this time, without smiling in a fake manner. "It’s my pleasure to let you sit on my lap."

I pulled her closer and held her by the waist. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Good," she smiled back and caressed my face. "But do tell me, my dear husband, are you alright? You looked quite uncomfortable earlier?"

Hm? She’s suddenly talking formally. Glancing at the angered Ms. Choi, I think I understand why. I should do the same and support her. She’s my wife, after all.

"Ah, so you noticed," I sighed. "Indeed, I was uncomfortable. This is the first time I have met her, yet she kept touching me as if we were close acquaintances."

"Aww, my poor husband," she fussed over me, looking so worried. "Where did she touch you?"

Amused by her worried expression, I continued humoring her.

"Here, the back of my hand and my arm. She even used her feet to touch my leg," I deliberately acted pitifully.

"Ah! The audacity!" she yelled, loud enough for the reporters to hear. "That is no simple touch. That is flirting! Is she that desperate to appeal to you? And she knows that you have a wife, yet she still did it? How vulgar!"

’I guessed it right. I know where this is going now. Ha-ha-ha. How witty of her.’

"Yes,’ I nodded. "I told her the seat across was yours, but she continued to sit down nonetheless."

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Ah... How shameless," she sighed.

Then, she turned her head to Ms. Choi’s direction and looked down at her, deliberately taunting her. But this b*tch wouldn’t go without a fight.

"Ha-ha-ha," Ms. Choi laughed. "He was enjoying my touch earlier, though. He only changed his attitude when you came."

LIES! Ugh! So annoying! If only I could, I would have killed her earlier.

"Is that so?" Agent Selene asked. "Does yanking his arms and pulling his feet away mean enjoyment for you? Does his face turning sour, filled with disgust, mean he’s happy with what you did? It seems to me that we have a different understanding of what the term ’enjoyment’ really means."

Wow. She’s quite a fighter with words as well, huh? How fun.

Hearing her defend me was quite pleasant. I didn’t think she had it in her to fight with words this way. I didn’t even think she would defend me. She knew we were after Ms. Choi, and I needed to be alone with her to get intel. If she saw us talking from the washroom, she should have let us be and let the time pass first. But then, she came back.

’Was she... worried about me? Did she see how I hated Ms. Choi’s flirtatious acts? That’s why she came back to help? If so, that’s... nice of her.’

"You are right," Ms. Choi scoffed and crossed her arms. Looking down at Agent Selene, she continued, "We truly have a different understanding of certain things. After all, we came from different backgrounds—I came from a prestigious family of Elites, and you are...?"

But Agent Selene wouldn’t back down.

"I am from a humble home of loving parents who taught me good manners and wisdom to discern right from wrong, such as... not to flirt with married men," she replied, copying her gesture. "Certainly, there is such a big difference in the upbringing."

Pfft! Ha-ha-ha! I wanted to laugh so badly.

"One is a mannequin dressed in the finest luxuries but contains nothing inside—just an empty shell. While the other is a geode—a hollow rock on the outside but filled with the rarest treasures inside. Surely, anyone can tell which is more valuable than the other."

"Pft! Ha-ha-ha!" I laughed, unable to contain it anymore.

Then, I hugged her from behind and kissed her cheeks while smiling proudly at her. She really did a great job this time.

"Ahhh... my wife truly is the rarest treasure in the world."
