Virtual Reality Cultivator-Chapter 61: The Genesis Gate
Chapter 61 - 61: The Genesis Gate
The stars above painted a majestic scene as the Ardent Flame emerged from hyper jump. Before them lay a mysterious planet—one not recorded in any database. Its atmosphere was cloaked in bluish-purple hues, with auroras flowing at the poles, as if welcoming their arrival.
"Welcome... to Genesis," Seraphina said, her voice nearly trembling.
Nova confirmed the sensor readings. "The atmosphere is stable. There are signs of ancient structures, psionic energy unlike anything we've encountered before... and something moving beneath the surface."
Bell raised an eyebrow. "Something? Like... a creature?"
"Unclear. But it's massive."
Ember stood on the main bridge, eyes locked onto the planet below.
"We're going down."
Landing
The landing took place on a high plateau overlooking the ruins of an ancient structure resembling a temple—with arched pillars and glowing symbols that seemed to react to their presence.
As the ramp door opened, a cold breeze and a wave of psionic pressure enveloped them. It felt as if the planet itself was alive.
Claire touched the ground and narrowed her eyes. "This place is filled with energy... a kind of sentient aura."
Ember turned to her. "You feel it too?"
"Not just feel it... I hear a voice. Gentle, but persistent."
The Sealed Temple
They approached the main temple. A massive stone door blocked the entrance, but as Ember stepped forward and placed her hand on the center of the carved symbols... something miraculous happened.
The symbols lit up. The stone began to shift, opening a path into a vast chamber filled with holographic walls, ancient machinery, and the silhouettes of shattered cryo tubes.
"This is... a genetic laboratory," Nova whispered. "But unlike anything we've ever seen."
Seraphina gazed at the walls, covered in glowing DNA carvings. "This isn't just where Victor was born. This... is where they created the first psionic prototypes—initial experiments."
Ember walked slowly, her hand brushing over the empty tubes.
"And I... might be one of them."
Message from the Past
Suddenly, a holographic screen flickered to life. A silhouette appeared—an old man in a lab coat, resembling the one from previous footage.
"Identification code: Ember confirmed. Welcome back, Subject S-01."
Everyone tensed. Ember couldn't even speak.
"If you're hearing this, then the Nexus Protocol has been activated... or soon will be." The man spoke quickly. "Genesis is the foundation. Nexus is the execution. You—Ember—are our last hope to stop this artificial evolution."
"Artificial evolution?" Ethan asked quietly.
"They created beings beyond human. Not just psionics, but hybrids of machine and soul... entities that cannot be controlled, not even by their creators."
"And they're not dead," Claire murmured.
Ember's Realization
Ember collapsed to her knees. Everything began to make sense. Why she was sent to this world. Why her body could withstand extreme conditions. Why only she could access this room.
"I wasn't just part of the experiment," Ember said softly. "I'm the... key to ending it."
Bell stepped closer. "So what's the next move?"
Ember rose to her feet, her face resolute. "We need to find the Nexus Protocol core. We have to stop it before it fully activates... or destroy everything if it's too late."
The Guardian Beast
Before they could take another step, a deep rumble echoed from beneath the temple. The floor trembled. The walls reverberated.
Nova shouted, "Something's waking up beneath us!"
From the underground shadows, a five-meter-tall creature emerged. Its form was a fusion of metal and flesh, with glowing red eyes and a mechanical voice.
"Subject S-01 detected. Termination Protocol initiated."
"That's a Nexus guardian," Seraphina called out. "And it's not happy to see you."
Psionic Battle
A brutal fight erupted. Bell opened fire with a heavy rifle. Claire slashed with her energy-infused sword. Ethan deployed defense drones. But the creature was unstoppable.

Only when Ember unleashed her full psionic power—a wave of bluish-purple light flooding the chamber—did the creature begin to falter.
With a scream filled with emotion, Ember slammed both hands into the ground. A blast of energy erupted from her body, shattering the creature into glowing fragments.
Silence. All eyes turned to her, a mix of awe... and fear.
After the Battle
Ember was gasping for breath. Blood dripped from her nose. Claire rushed over and caught her as she nearly collapsed.
"You used too much energy," she said worriedly.
Ember nodded weakly. "But now we know... I can fight them. We have a chance."
Chapter Close
Once everything had calmed down, they found an ancient map in the deepest chamber of the temple. It showed other locations—sites connected to the Nexus Protocol scattered across the galaxy.
"So this... is just the beginning," Nova said.
Ember looked at the map, then up at the sky visible through the cracks in the ruins.
"And we're... not done yet."
