Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 306: Intelligence Beyond Ordinary
Thea Shaw laughed, "No problem, I’ll play with her for a bit."
With that, she picked up Cynthia Chambers and walked over to the window sill, holding her up to look at the skyscrapers outside.
Cynthia Chambers remained silent, not speaking, even while being held by the stranger Thea Shaw, she didn’t show any resistance, as if completely unaware of the outside world.
She simply gazed at the sky outside with a dazed look while being held by the window.
"Cynthia, look, isn’t the weather nice today?"
Thea Shaw spoke gently, word by word, as if she were chatting casually with Cynthia Chambers.
Aurora Sutton, watching from behind, laughed, "I didn’t expect Thea to like children."
Zia Sutton pouted, "I find kids particularly annoying." With that, she turned to Celia Chambers and said, "Let’s have them a bit later."
Celia Chambers blushed, "Shameless! Who wants to have kids with you?!"
Zia Sutton replied, "Ah, so you want to have kids with someone else, huh? Well, Celia Chambers, I didn’t realize you already planned to cheat before even getting married!"
The three of them joked and laughed, while Thea Shaw chatted idly with Cynthia Chambers, finally clearly asking her, "Cynthia Chambers, what is 5+7?"
Asking such a question to a child who can barely speak seems absurd.
Some children aged three or four might not even understand such basic addition, let alone a two-year-old, especially when the sum exceeds single digits.
Thea Shaw noticed that the Chambers Family actually had many educational toys, including those numerical addition and subtraction boards, though they might have just been bought to sit there.
She could tell that Cynthia Chambers was not an ordinary child, so perhaps the things she exhibited weren’t genuine.
She was just performing a simple little test.
Of course, Cynthia Chambers didn’t respond. Thea Shaw set her down, and she stood there quietly, not speaking.
Thea Shaw then moved her to the sofa to daydream.
As Cynthia Chambers showed no reaction, nobody deliberately tried to tease her; she already knew how to eat and walk, which was considered good.
The aroma from the kitchen floated through, and soon it was time to prepare dinner. Thea Shaw took out a lollipop from her bag and asked Cynthia Chambers if she wanted it, telling her to reveal the answer she earlier asked for.
Cynthia Chambers didn’t respond, nor did she glance at her.
Thea Shaw just placed the candy on the stool beside her.
Zia Sutton saw it and was incredulous, "Thea, are you even human? What are you asking her?"
To tease a two-year-old child who couldn’t even speak.
Thea Shaw snorted, "I asked her what 5+7 equals."
After speaking, she opened a candy herself and started licking it happily.
Zia Sutton thought perhaps this fairy-like sister had some issue.
The sweet fruity scent filled the air, and as the Chambers parents began calling everyone to eat from the kitchen, they prepared to sit down, Thea Shaw noticed Cynthia Chambers having a reaction.
She slowly shuffled two steps over, moving close to Thea Shaw.
Zia Sutton and Thea Shaw both looked her way.
Cynthia Chambers neither looked at Thea Shaw nor the candy; she simply fixed her gaze on a small Doraemon stool she usually sat on, extending her chubby fingers to slowly scribble on it twice.
Thea Shaw saw it; she saw that Cynthia Chambers drew two numbers, a 1 and a 2.
A two-year-old child, with no teaching, had somehow grasped addition and subtraction, going beyond single digits.
Thea Shaw suddenly laughed, unwrapping the candy and letting Cynthia Chambers’ chubby hand hold it, saying, "That’s your reward for getting it right."
Zia Sutton: "..."
He was dumbfounded.
