Villain Saving System (BL)-Chapter 86 - 3.26 Wait For Me
Chapter 86: 3.26 Wait For Me
Lu Yizhou sensed the omega’s presence before he saw him. And when he turned into the corner, there Oliver was, leaning against the wall of the empty hallway, head hanging low. Lu Yizhou’s breath stuttered for a second. He had no idea whether it was because he hadn’t seen Oliver for more than a week or because he could only satisfy his craving through the continuous dirty dreams, but the omega looked more radiant and exquisite than Lu Yizhou remembered him to be. He had always been beautiful but this time, he successfully punched the breath out of Lu Yizhou’s lungs. His heart skipped for a split second before it proceeded to drum rapidly like bouts of thunder. For the first time ever, Lu Yizhou vividly understood how a hormonal teenager felt when faced with their crush.
Oliver shifted from one foot to another, a clear sign of his discomfort and Lu Yizhou promptly snapped out of his stupor. After being astounded for a moment, what came next was apprehension. The building—albeit it was free of access—was surrounded by scents of multiple Alphas. Oliver rubbed the back of his neck and the corner of his eyes inadvertently caught sight of Lu Yizhou’s shoes. He whipped his head up and his whole person brightened visibly up to every strand of his hair, radiating happiness. His long black tail swished back and forth in rapid succession and Lu Yizhou even had the mental image that he would start to hop in place anytime soon. "Altair!"
Before Lu Yizhou could think—no, hell, he wasn’t even thinking anymore—he had closed the distance in a few long strides and brought the omega into his embrace. A surprise yelp escaped Oliver’s lips before he promptly giggled. That was all it took to melt the tension in Lu Yizhou’s shoulders followed by a bone-crushing relief gushing forth his chest. He felt Oliver snake his arms around his waist, hugging him back as he inhaled deeply into the omega’s pheromones gland. Oliver leaned his weight on Lu Yizhou’s body and he gladly accepted that, hands resting on the curve of his hips and bringing them closer.
"Why don’t you call my communicator?" Lu Yizhou asked in a breathless tone. He grazed his nose over Oliver’s nape to the soft flesh under his ear. His teeth itched and he couldn’t help himself, taking a bite of the cold earlobe. He watched in delight as the fair skin turned into a hue of pink. How adorable. "I can just meet you outside. Isn’t it uncomfortable here?"
Oliver didn’t even try to lie. "En. It stinks so bad." He buried his head into the crook of Lu Yizhou’s neck and sighed in satisfaction. "Now it’s better."
It was just like an invisible palm had just squeezed Lu Yizhou’s heart. How could someone be so adorable? Oliver was cute even when all he did was breathe. With a hand on the small of the omega’s back, Lu Yizhou guided them to the back of the building where it was opposite of where the Arena Fighting was. Fortunately, there wasn’t anyone around. Oliver stretched his waist like the cat he was and took a few deep breaths exaggeratingly. The corner of Lu Yizhou’s lips curled upward without him realizing.
"I don’t want to bother you." Oliver stole a glance before looking away.
Lu Yizhou frowned. He didn’t like how that sentence sounded.
"You know that you are never a bother to me, Oliver." He lifted the omega’s chin and his heart ached as he saw the red veins around Oliver’s eyes and the obvious black circles. It wasn’t there when he left. "Did you not sleep well?" He grazed his thumb under Oliver’s eyelids and the omega leaned closer to his touch, nuzzling into his palm.
"The house is so empty without you." Oliver’s lashes fluttered as he whispered softly. "I can’t get used to it."
Lu Yizhou inhaled deeply but before he could give a response, Oliver stepped away from his touch as if he had just realized what he’d done, leaving Lu Yizhou’s hands grasping only a fistful of air. The omega’s eyes were placid but Lu Yizhou could catch a hint of his nervousness based on how he wrung his fingers together. The corner of Lu Yizhou’s mouth twitched and as much as he hated to admit it, he couldn’t deny that his effort to avoid Oliver this week had totally gone down the drain just with this one visit. He bit his tongue and barely held back the questions on why Oliver shied away from his touch. Such a selfish question. How could he ask when he was the one who left in the first place?
He cleared his throat and slipped his tightening fists into his pocket lest he lost his senses again and ended up smothering the omega into a bone-breaking hug. "Did something happen?"
"Huh...?" Oliver blinked a few times, oblivious.
"You’re searching for me. Did something happen?"
Hearing that, the omega’s lips puckered into a sullen pout and he murmured under his breath. Small but unfortunately, Lu Yizhou’s senses were currently working overdrive so he could easily catch it. "What? So I can’t look for you if nothing happens?"
A sigh of relief slipped past his lips at the same time with the gnawing guilt. He was getting irritated again. He hated that he had caused Oliver to feel this way as much as he hated his own helplessness. "Oliver..."
"Anyway!" Oliver hastily changed the subject. "How about you? Have you been well?" Oliver raked his eyes all over the Alpha’s face, his eyes soft and genuinely concerned. A sense of satisfaction bloomed in Lu Yizhou’s heart from having the omega’s attention solely focused on him. "Are you sleeping well? No, wait that’s a stupid question. You look tired. More tired than usual but still dashing, if you know what I mean." He was rambling now and Lu Yizhou had to bite his lips from how cute he was. Until the next second, he choked on his breath when Oliver’s eyes drifted down and swept across his lower part before looking elsewhere, pink dusting his cheeks. "I am coming to check on you and see...see if you need me for something. Cough, you know. It’s bad to endure everything by yourself—"
Lu Yizhou caught the omega’s hand which was reaching toward his waistband, his eyes dark with displeasure. "No."
Oliver startled from his harsh tone and Lu Yizhou mentally cursed himself. "No, I mean, don’t." He sighed and finally relented, bringing the teary eyed omega into his embrace. He gave a subconscious struggle but Lu Yizhou held him tightly, caging him within the cocoon of his arms. "No, Oliver. There’s no need for you to do...that. But the fault lies on me. I’m sorry that I’m harsh to you, I..." Lu Yizhou got tongue-tied, at a loss of how to continue to let Oliver know how perplexed his emotions were.
"No, I understand." Oliver sniffled. "You don’t need me—"
"No!" Lu Yizhou rebuked with an even harsher tone yet this time he didn’t realize it. Where did that ridiculous notion come from? He pulled away slightly to stare into the omega’s red rimmed eyes, thumb gently wiping the tears hanging on his eyelashes. "Oliver..." Lu Yizhou started helplessly. "I don’t not need you, okay? I thought—think of you all the time. You have no idea how hard it is to..." Lu Yizhou braked himself on time. He pressed their foreheads together and let out a shuddering exhale. "Erase that idea from your mind. You’re never unneeded."
"Then why..."
Lu Yizhou withdrew his gaze so he could escape from those soul-sucking, glassy eyes but it’s no use. The very image had been burned behind his eyelids and everytime he closed his eyes, he could imagine them vividly. "One month. Just give me one month and I will return to you."
"That’s too long." The omega grumbled and Lu Yizhou let out a soft chuckle. It wasn’t only Oliver who thought that way. He also felt like it was too long. One day felt like one year. It was truly weird. How did he spend his previous 22 years alone again? He could no longer remember, it all seemed fuzzy somehow. Oliver held onto Lu Yizhou’s arm gingerly. "Then, is there anything I can do to help? Anything..."
Lu Yizhou groaned inwardly. Did he have no idea at all how dangerous it was to say that sentence to an Alpha who was reaching his mating period soon? Lu Yizhou had no idea whether to call him innocent or devious. All of his gestures were meant to help but instead of dousing the boiling fire with cold water, he poured gasoline and made the flame soar higher. "It’s okay." He said hoarsely and stepped back for the sake of his own sanity. Seeing Oliver’s crestfallen face, Lu Yizhou pondered for a moment and reached into his pocket. "Well, there’s one thing..."
"What is it?" Oliver perked up in an instant.
Lu Yizhou chuckled briefly and handed him a roll of white bandages. "I need someone to wrap these around my palms. If you may, please." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"I will! Leave it all to me!" Oliver eagerly accepted the bandage. Under Lu Yizhou’s patient instruction, the omega fumbled around and managed to do it albeit a little messy. He gave a sheepish smile. "Ah, it’s my first time so... It’s ugly right? Come here. I will do it again."
"No need." Lu Yizhou lifted his hands away from Oliver’s reach. "This one is perfectly fine." It wasn’t actually. The bandage’s purpose was to soften the impact of his punch and protect his knuckles but Lu Yizhou doubted whether it would stay in place after one punch. But he smiled in a way that convinced the omega that it was the most beautiful handiwork ever.
"Thank you and...wait for my good news." Lu Yizhou brought his own hand to his mouth to press a kiss on it and Oliver vividly felt the feathery sensation on his skin, making him blush and tingle all over. The Alpha’s silver eyes were striking and vivid like God had melted all the stars in the sky and molded it into the shape of his pupils. "I promise... I will return victorious and present the glory to you."
