Villain Saving System (BL)-Chapter 115 - 3.55 I Do
Chapter 115: 3.55 I Do
The wedding was held in a breathtaking cathedral that was built with a glass rooftop, encasing the display of sparkling stars of the night. The guests poured in when evening arrived and were guided to their respective seats. Soft music was playing in the background and petals of roses — as per Oliver’s request — were floating down like a gentle shower rain. Red silk hung on the ceiling and the chandelier burned with an amber glow, adding on to the exquisite and dreamy atmosphere. Chatters could be heard intermittently, excited ones, courtesy to the schoolmates who were lucky to be invited as a witness for the royal wedding in person and inquiring ones, whispers from those who came from kingdoms afar. Elite Guards were stationed in every corner and more were hiding in the dark, unseen unless the situation called for it.
Hidden amongst the crowd was Ryan, wearing a formal tuxedo suit with his hair styled immaculately. If one looked closer, one might notice that beneath his leisure and nonchalant exterior, there was an underlying anticipation and nervousness.
"Her Highness, Princess Rosemane Alaze!" The guard announced her arrival and the hushed whispers died down immediately.
The gate swung open and Princess Rosemane stepped in, dressed to the nine in an exquisite crimson layered gown that was encrusted with hundreds of small diamonds, a blue ribbon tied around her neck, the color matched with her mane accessories. All eyes turned to the horse omega in an instant, scrutinizing and curious, trying to gauge the truth from the rumor that had spread widely all over the kingdom. They were disappointed that they couldn’t find anything because Princess Rosemane was acting like her usual self; haughty, proud with her chin lifted high and spine straight. Her mane had been cut shorter but it was none unusual. It could just be a change of fashion. Princess Rosemane was acting like she was the star of the day, beaming and waving at the camera drones that were following her.
Princess Rosemane took their seats, her eyes surreptitiously swept over the crowd and made eye contact with the leopard Alpha. Upon receiving one briefest nod, she showed a wider and genuinely happy smile. No one noticed the silent exchange, they merely thought that rumors couldn’t be trusted. Look at how joyous Princess Rosemane was. The rumor that her relationship with Prince Oliver was estranged must be a slander!
Next, the guard announced Prince Altair’s arrival. Muffled screams were heard from a few corners as the gate swung open again to reveal the winged beastman. Without even batting an eyelid to the flashing camera light, Lu Yizhou walked down the aisle in large, steady steps and took his place in front of the podium. He fixed his stare on the other door, waiting for Oliver to appear from behind it.
"Oh gosh, he’s sooo handsome! I thought he’s already gorgeous enough but Prince Altair in a suit is simply ethereal!"
"I really envy Prince Oliver who can marry him! Why can’t I be the one?!"
"Hush, then you need to be a prince yourself first, okay?"
Whispers of similar appreciation echoed from the envoy from other kingdoms. Just the mere sight of Lu Yizhou’s huge, dark wings behind him and those horns were enough to garner admiration. Such was the way this world worked. The people were so taken by the suave Alpha that they didn’t notice that Princess Rosemane was staring dagger at him, her eyes unable to mask the deep hatred she felt within.
Lu Yizhou, of course, noticed it. He had been trained to sense murderous intents, no matter how concealed it was. His scalp tingled from the sheer intensity of the omega’s stare and he let out a sigh, pretending not to see anything. Inside his mind, 666 was continuously blabbering out comments.
[666: Sheesh, you reap what you sow. Look, if you don’t damage the female protagonist’s gland, she won’t hate you this much! Host, you should control yourself more! You already got a red coded warning last time! Ugh, 666 gets goosebumps just thinking of what Admin God will say about this!]
"His Majesty, Emperor Bernard Alaze and His Highness, Prince Oliver Alaze!"
Lu Yizhou’s eyes zeroed on Oliver as soon as the double gate swung open. The omega’s thin figure was ridiculously small when compared to Emperor Bernard yet Lu Yizhou didn’t even notice the presence of the bear Alpha, too enamored with his little omega. The world faded away and in the back of his mind, he could faintly make out the sharp intakes of breath and murmur of admiration at the omega’s elegant cat ears and his black tail whose tip was tied in a crimson ribbon. They were focused on Oliver’s beastly signs but for Lu Yizhou, the most beautiful part of him would be his eyes. They seemed to be lighter at this moment, glowing in an amber blaze that shone brighter than the wildest flame. Those eyes held deep, intense emotions that betrayed his small frame; the most beautiful thing Lu Yizhou had laid his eyes upon. The bond mark on his side abdomen throbbed, as if reacting to the presence of his mate.
Emperor Bernard handed Oliver’s hand which Lu Yizhou took over with familiar ease, squeezing Oliver’s cold and clammy palm within his broad palm. He must be so nervous right now, Lu Yizhou mused.
Oliver gave him a tiny, adorable shy smile. "Hi." He sounded breathless.
"Hi," Lu Yizhou replied. "How are you feeling?"
"Dizzy," Oliver laughed, almost hysterically. When he spotted Lu Yizhou’s frown, he added in haste. "I mean, I’m feeling so excited, you know. I still can’t believe that this is happening now. The door opens in front of me and there you are. I have no words to explain it. Just that the light seems to gather around you and..." He took a deep breath. "You’re so gorgeous. God, I have no idea how many times I have told you that in one evening."
Lu Yizhou rubbed his thumb on the soft flesh of Oliver’s hand. "As you are breathtaking."
Oliver choked on his breath. Before the omega could retort in protest, the priest had taken his place in front of both of them. He cleared his throat. "We are here to witness the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Oliver, with his groom Alpha, His Royal Highness Prince Altair from Versatine." He thanked the guests for attending and offered a few words to recount the two beastmen’s story which came straight from the script that had been written by Oliver, processed by Emperor Bernard and approved by Empress Gemma.
After that came the vow. Oliver was practically bursting with restless and excited energy. Lu Yizhou squeezed his hand and made eye contact with Derek from across the room. The Beta nodded briefly.
"Prince Oliver Alaze, do you promise to take Prince Altair Versatine as your husband, your Alpha, your faithful companion for life? Do you promise to love him, honor him, treasure him for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful only to him, for as long as you both shall live?"
Oliver’s eyes were brimming with tears by now. He gazed at Lu Yizhou with such vivid love that it drove the crimson roses to fade. "I do. I swear on my life, I will love him forever and the lifetimes after that."
The priest nodded and turned to Lu Yizhou. "Prince Altair Versatine, do you promise Prince Oliver Alaze as your wife, your Omega, your faithful companion for life? Do you promise to love him, honor him, treasure him for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful only to him, for as long as you both shall live?" The same wedding vow caused murmurs to spread all over the guests. It wasn’t uncommon for Alphas to take more than one omegas in their life. Having omega to submit and swear their loyalty to one Alpha had been taken for granted. That’s why, the words ’to be faithful only to him’ sounded bizarre, as it implied that Lu Yizhou wouldn’t wed any other omega again in his life. Emperor Bernard had brought it up before and was promptly shut down by Lu Yizhou who said that his omega would be and only be Oliver.
He sensed the tremble from Oliver’s hand and pulled him closer, circling his arm around the omega’s waist. With their eyes locked onto each other, Lu Yizhou vowed, "I do."
Oliver let out a quiet gasp, the rims of his eyes reddening.
"Now, I pronounce you both husband and—"
BANG!
The sharp whistle of a bullet pierced through the solemn procession followed by the loud crash of heavy glass breaking. Lu Yizhou’s eyes sharpened as he shielded Oliver with his body and covered them both with his wings, taking the full brunt of the fallen shards on himself. Oliver shook himself out of reverie when blood trickled down his cheek from the open wound on Lu Yizhou’s wings. He cried out, panicked. "Altair!"
