Villain Ch 85. Slaughter

Mac and his companions had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to take on the Devil Emperor and his subordinates. They knew that it would be a dangerous mission, but they were determined to succeed. 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗼𝘃𝐞𝐥.𝗰𝗼𝐦

As they approached the guard post in the Northwest of Ront City, they could feel their hearts pounding with anticipation. They knew that this was their chance to prove themselves, to show the other players that they were a force to be reckoned with.

The two NPCs dressed as royal guards stood in front of them, their expressions stern and unyielding. Mac and his party approached them, ready to make their case.

"Excuse me," Mac said, his voice calm but firm. "We would like to enter the Ront Underground Dungeon."

The soldier NPC looked at them for a moment, assessing them with a keen eye. "Very well," he said finally. "But be warned, the monsters inside are not to be taken lightly. You will need to be careful if you hope to succeed."

Mac nodded, his expression determined.

The soldier handed them an item called Invisible Crystal, explaining that it would allow them to hide from the devil emperor and his subordinates if they needed to. With a nod of thanks, Mac and his party stepped through the iron door and into the dungeon.

What was certain was that rather than being prey like in the last event, he and his party decided that instead of being prey, they would become hunters.

The underground dungeon's stench was a combination of mold, sewage, and decaying matter. It was clear that this place hadn't seen the light of day in centuries.

The path ahead was narrow, and the walls were slick with moisture. The only light came from the occasional torch that flickered on the wall, casting eerie shadows in every direction. The sound of running water was constant, with the occasional gust of wind echoing down the tunnel.

The bug-like monsters scurried about. Some resembled giant cockroaches, while others were grotesque larvae and rats. However, these creatures seemed uninterested in the adventurers and went about their business, leaving them to theirs. The path was treacherous, and they had to move slowly to avoid slipping on the slick surface. It was clear that this place was not meant for human habitation.

The water channel in the center of the tunnel made the path more difficult to navigate. It was clear that the party had to be careful not to fall in or risk getting drenched in the foul water.

It was a labyrinth of narrow passages and twisting staircases, with the cold wind whistling through the air. Each step they took echoed loudly against the stone walls, the sound of their boots ringing out like gunshots in the silent darkness.

This was an eerie place for the players, but the perfect place for Allen and his team to commit carnage. An announcement about a quest immediately popped up in front of Allen and his team.

[Kill at least 100 players in 15 minutes. Bonus EXP and coins will be added every other 10 kills.]

[Location: Ront's Underground Dungeon (Once the event is over, you will be teleported back to Cursed Crypts)]

[Target: players]

[Rewards: EXP and coins]

[Countdown: 14:58]

"100 players in 15 minutes aren't a small number," Vivian remarked, her voice filled with a hint of trepidation.

Zoe, however, was more confident. Her eyes glinted with killing intent as she replied, "Maybe it's because the game developer has realized how many players will join, so we have to kill as many of them as possible."

Larissa chimed in with an idea. "Should we split then? This place is huge. We can kill more players that way," she suggested, her mind already racing with the possibilities.

Allen nodded in agreement. "We're going to split," he decided. "Just remember, if there are problems or if you encounter too many players, retreat to the others' place. Some pro players might target us."

His warning was not unfounded. They all knew that some players would take advantage of this opportunity to kill them. And even though Kafra didn't say anything about this, Allen knew that if he put himself in another player's shoes, he would do the same without hesitation. He was sure that some of the other players had the same thoughts as him, too.

"Got it," they said in unison.

With a nod of agreement, the team split up, each one heading in a different direction to search for other players to defeat. Unlike the others, Allen didn't walk like he was strolling in the park. Instead, he used his Demonic Aura and moved with the speed and agility of a wild wolf hunting its prey. His eyes were sharp, his senses heightened as he made his way toward the entrance, where he knew the busiest place would be.

And then, he saw them. A group of players gathered, their backs turned towards him. They were chatting and laughing, completely oblivious to the danger that was approaching them.

Without a moment's hesitation, Allen waved his hand and unleashed his skill.

'Demonic Lance.'

With a flick of his wrist, sixty black lances appeared around Allen, crackling with dark energy. They hurtled towards the group of players, each one penetrating their bodies with deadly precision. Blood spurted from their wounds, drenching the dungeon floor as they fell one by one.

[Kill players 3/100]

Only the swordsman managed to dodge some of the lances, but he was still badly wounded. His HP was dangerously low, only a quarter of his maximum remaining. He tried to stand up, but his legs buckled beneath him, and he fell to the ground with a thud.

Allen approached him slowly, his eyes fixed on his prey. The swordsman was gasping for breath, his face contorted in pain. He tried to raise his sword, but it fell from his grasp as his strength failed him.

Then, with an evil smirk, he raised his hand and summoned his Demonic Claw. In one swift movement, he slid towards the swordsman and brought his claw down with tremendous force. The blade sliced through the air, severing the swordsman's head from his body in one fell swoop.

Blood spurted from the wound, staining the ground in a deep crimson hue. The swordsman's body fell to the ground, twitching and spasming in its death throes.
