Village Head's Debauchery-Chapter 1357: The Gift Of Divinity
Chapter 1357: The Gift Of Divinity
The women all nodded in agreement. There was no need to say anything further, with Aerialia having spoken for them. Besides, most of them weren’t even sure they could bring themselves to speak.
Only the ancient goddesses among them might be brave enough to address Nazelita as their daughter, and from the looks of it, none of the other ancient goddesses seemed inclined to utter a word either.
“I will keep that in mind, mother,” Nazelita responded with a light smile. “If you don’t mind, I’d also like to meet my brothers and sisters.”
Aerialia hesitated briefly but then nodded in understanding. They couldn’t stop Nazelita from meeting her brothers and sisters, could they?
It was best to let her do as she desired while they took the time to understand more about her.
Nazelita’s smile widened. Instantly, her body began to shrink until she was about the same height as Orion and then landed on the wide black platform. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him.
Orion returned the gesture. He couldn’t help but think that this wasn’t an entirely bad idea. Iyriath Zi’ria must have had her reasons for making their daughter the Mysteries of the White Flame Cosmic Tree.
The hug ended after a few moments.
Nazelita turned to face his wives and walked toward them, greeting and embracing each of them one by one.
Reynold and the others silently observed everything unfolding before them.
Once the greetings were done, Nazelita turned her attention to her duty. The White Flame Cosmic Tree needed to be fully opened so divine beings could begin relocating into it.
Meanwhile, Orion had dropped the others off before departing with Brane, Zara, Seth, and Zogar. They arrived at a towering hill at the border of the human domain within the domain of the gods.
“Go and get the others,” Orion instructed, glancing at Seth and Zogar.
He recalled how Seth had repeatedly tried to convince him to take his Dragnim partner as a concubine, but he had declined. Back then, he had been unable to control his fertility. Even now, while he had gained more control, he still couldn’t trigger ascension to divinity without impregnation.
The two processes were deeply intertwined, and there was nothing he could do about it.
However, with his current level of power, there was no longer a need for such extremes. As long as they could withstand the intensity of the White Flame, anyone could ascend to divinity.
There were other qualified warriors, who needed to be brought along and tested alongside the rest. Even if they didn’t immediately ascend to godhood, their strength would undergo immense improvement.
In time, they would reach it.
He was optimistic about the results because his divine power was far more compatible with humans than with other races. This was only natural, considering that he was also human.
Seth and Zogar nodded in understanding before launching into the sky and vanishing into the distance.
Now that the village was entering what could only be described as a flourishing era, and thanks to their culture, the population was bound to explode and would continue growing steadily, perhaps even surpassing the other races.
They were also in a golden age of innovation due to their interactions with countless other races now present across various universes within Paradise. With the aid of the Runaway Cities serving as ladders, their technological progress might even reach heights comparable to the past.
Orion realized the reason why the ancient technological advancements had failed during the Great Migration—it was simply too weak to withstand the interference of the magical energies that had poured in.
However, if the Divine Corps could now successfully combine both technological and magical advancements, they might be able to do what their predecessors could not.
Perhaps one day, they would even be able to create divine corps that reached the level of a true god, and mass produce them to further strengthen Paradise’s overall force.
Orion realized there was no way that the hidden forces backing the Divine Corps hadn’t already considered this.
Even if each one was weaker than an ordinary true god, their true advantage was in their overwhelming numbers. If two weren’t enough, then five would be. If five failed, ten would surely suffice. Numbers alone could crush nearly any opponent.
With that realization, Orion gained new insight into why the Divine Corps had dared to invade the Spirit Realm without fear of the transcendent Spirit Beasts, and why they dared to face off against Naka.
Facing such a force, one no less terrifying than his own, even Naka would have to exercise caution.
Even the bizarre Will of the Divine Mysteries was cautious enough to begin gathering forces and making long-term investments in them.
Regardless, with his current strength, he could no longer afford to remain passive. He would begin interfering with their plans, starting with the capture of the Omnithriallian corpse, which both the Spirit Beast Coalition and the Divine Corps were fighting over.
In the meantime, he was Paradise’s greatest cheat, its shortcut to catching up with the other forces. If the White Flame failed to produce the number of true gods they needed, then he would offer up more opportunities for others to become his contracted servants.
Since none had reached true godhood through this path yet, he didn’t know the upper limit of how many true gods he could bring under his control. He would have to wait and see.
But if there was truly a limit, then Orion wouldn’t mind taking in more women and creating another status within his household to fulfil this purpose.
To Reynold, Ilse, and the others, Orion was someone who defied all known logic, capable of performing miracle after miracle. But to entities like Naka and the hidden powers watching from beyond, all of it was simply enough to play catch-up.
After several minutes, Seth and Zogar returned, accompanied by 350 individuals.
They all stood in formation, their eyes filled with reverence as they looked upon Orion. They had witnessed and heard his legends about how he had transformed the village from a land besieged by waves of Vylkr vines into what was now Paradise.
He was the first individual among them to ascend to true godhood despite having only begun his path to strength barely two years ago. Not only that, but he also embodied the Village’s core culture, fathering numerous children, each so gifted that even one could elevate an entire civilization to greatness.
Rumours from the higher-ups had already begun to spread, that even his wives and concubines had ascended to true godhood. And despite Paradise only becoming an independent cosmic structure a few short months ago, it was now on the verge of experiencing an influx of true gods.
Divine beings would soon become a common sight, and the domain of the gods would finally live up to its name.
That was also the reason they had been brought here. They had been given the opportunity to ascend to divinity, and as such, they were filled with both gratitude and excitement.
It wasn’t just them, Brane and Zara were also deeply moved.
They had reached their limits long ago and had been slowly crawling toward death. Initially, they believed they might find a way to ascend to divinity by following Orion on his adventures beyond the Village.
But not only had they returned empty-handed, each journey had grown more dangerous than the last. Eventually, they realized they had become burdens who needed protection rather than providing it.
As leaders who had once stood at the forefront of the Village’s defence against the endless waves of Vylkr vines, such a role filled them with grief. Still, they refused to retreat. They would rather die searching for a path to divinity than give up hope in despair.
Yet in the end, they hadn’t found the path themselves, instead it was Orion, the first true god of Paradise and the Supreme Leader, who had discovered the way and was willing to freely share it with them.
Brane recalled Orion’s promise to help him find a path to immortality. He now understood that Orion had not only kept that promise but had gone far beyond it.
Not only would he and his wife, whose life had been hanging by a thread, ascend to godhood, but even the path to true godhood, something they hadn’t dared to dream of, was now within reach.
Seth and Zogar felt much the same.
Seth was especially ashamed, remembering how he had once asked Orion to impregnate his partner so she could ascend to divinity. He hadn’t thought much of it at the time, believing it was Orion’s right to decline without explanation.
But now, he realized that Orion had refused because he had greater plans in motion to ensure that they could all ascend. Seth couldn’t help but feel ashamed of his narrow thinking. free𝑤ebnovel.com
Meanwhile, Zogar’s desire for strength stemmed from a need to protect their territory, and to find his brother.
