Chapter 266: 260 wearing clothes

"This outfit you’re wearing might not be suitable..." Wang Jian coughed lightly and gestured toward Cai Qiong’s clothes. If she wanted to practice her stances, that attire was clearly too restrictive.

"Should I change?" Cai Qiong realized this as well. Without waiting for a reply, she walked to the door and closed it, though she didn’t lock it. She began to undress as she walked deeper into the office, tossing her white lab coat onto the sofa. She headed toward what appeared to be just a bookshelf. As Wang Jian wondered why, he saw her pull a specific book from the shelf. The entire unit then slid aside, revealing a hidden door.

If the bookshelf hadn’t moved, no one would have ever suspected a secret door was there.

Startled, Wang Jian followed her to the door. He ran a hand over the bookshelf, discovering that aside from the book that triggered the mechanism, all the others were perfectly ordinary. "Another room? You’ve hidden it well."

Cai Qiong smiled. "Yes, I only found out after I became the director. It’s a bedroom. I stayed here last night. Everything inside was replaced when I took over."

Cai Qiong showed no modesty around Wang Jian, having started to unbutton her blouse as soon as she reached the door.

Beneath the lab coat, she had only been wearing a white blouse and a black, hip-hugging skirt. Without the coat, the thin white material was already somewhat translucent. As she unbuttoned her professional blouse and shrugged it off, she revealed a black camisole underneath. From Wang Jian’s angle, he could see most of her perfectly shaped bust.

Yet Cai Qiong seemed unconcerned. She turned back, saw Wang Jian’s dazed expression, and simply laughed. "What are you standing there for? Come in. And remember to close the door behind you."

With that, she stepped inside. When Wang Jian followed, his eyes immediately took in the room. It wasn’t large, maybe seventeen or eighteen square meters at a glance. But though it was small, it had everything it needed. It contained all the furnishings of a normal bedroom, and there was even a real window by the bed, proving it was no dark chamber.

A thought crossed Wang Jian’s mind. If he remembered correctly, the hospital’s previous director had been one of Cai Qiong’s older relatives. This secret room must have been his handiwork, which meant he needed it for some specific purpose. It wasn’t strange for him to assume the worst. Any man could guess what a powerful and influential person would use such a hidden room for; his intentions were as plain as day.

Once that thought took root, Wang Jian couldn’t help but let his imagination run wild as he looked at Cai Qiong. Her changing clothes right then and there seemed to fit perfectly with the kind of activities this room was likely used for in the past. He wondered which poor nurse had fallen prey to the former director.

Wang Jian had met the man before. He had a lecherous look about him, and it was easy to imagine him in this very room, composing a symphony of lust in countless positions.

He glanced at Cai Qiong. Based on his understanding of her, she probably didn’t know about the room’s sordid history, or else she wouldn’t have kept it.

This time, however, he was completely wrong.

Cai Qiong herself had been the one to discover the room. When she found it, she was just as surprised as Wang Jian, and then her curiosity took over. The moment she opened the door, she was confronted by an array of shocking props: handcuffs, chains, whips, a purpose-built platform—it had all the trappings of a set from a certain type of movie. She even found video equipment and a computer. The hard drive contained countless videos of her older relative’s trysts with the nurses. They were utterly revolting. It was this evidence that had allowed her to ensure the man’s quiet removal, paving the way for her to take over his position.

More interestingly, Cai Qiong hadn’t sealed the room off. Instead, she had it thoroughly cleaned and redecorated with simple furnishings. She had never imagined that one day, she would bring Wang Jian in here.

So now, it wasn’t just Wang Jian whose mind was racing. Cai Qiong’s thoughts were also running wild, recalling the props and equipment she had once seen.

What am I thinking about? Cai Qiong’s face flushed red as she inwardly cursed herself for being so shameless. How could she think such things?

Just as they were both lost in their respective thoughts, a knock came from the office door, startling them both. Driven by some unknown impulse, Cai Qiong rushed to Wang Jian, pinned him against the wall, and pressed a switch behind him. The hidden room was concealed once more as the bookshelf outside slid back into place with a soft thud.

"What are you doing?" Wang Jian was pressed firmly against the cold wall, but the front of his body was anything but. Cai Qiong had just removed her white blouse, intending to change. Now, she had tossed her clean clothes aside and pushed him back, her soft chest pressing into him.

Hearing his question, Cai Qiong frowned and pressed a finger to his lips to silence him. She then tilted her head, listening carefully to the sounds from outside. All Wang Jian had to do was look down to see everything. He could even smell a faint, milky scent. It wasn’t the sharp smell of perfume, but a pleasant, sweet aroma that drew his gaze downward. Unfortunately, this was not the time to be focusing on such things.

The person knocking had clearly heard the bookshelf move. A moment later, a woman’s voice called out, "Director, I’m coming in!"

"Shh!" Cai Qiong whispered. "It’s my assistant. She must need me for something."

"Shouldn’t we just go out? We haven’t done anything wrong, what’s there to be afraid of?" The moment the words left his mouth, Wang Jian knew he’d said the wrong thing. Met with Cai Qiong’s withering glare, he could only cough twice to cover his embarrassment.

It was true they hadn’t been doing anything when they came in. But now, with Cai Qiong half-dressed and the two of them hiding in a secret room, anyone with half a brain would jump to the wrong conclusion if they emerged like this. The situation was simply indefensible.

They remained pressed together, waiting until the office outside fell silent. Cai Qiong’s assistant must have looked around, found no one, and left.

When they heard the outer door close, they both sighed in relief, finally able to register their current predicament.

Cai Qiong had been leaning in to listen, but now it looked as though she was nestled in Wang Jian’s embrace. In the quiet, his heartbeat was loud and clear, and she could even hear the sound of him swallowing. With her entire body against his, she could feel his warmth.

Cai Qiong couldn’t help but think about what used to happen in this room, and the atmosphere instantly became awkward.

"Maybe you should... put on some clothes?"
