Village Doctor's Women-Chapter 233 - 227 Metaphysics
"He’s awake! He’s awake!"
Chairman Kang and his two companions, who had been closely monitoring the man’s condition, were the first to notice. Their collective cry of surprise also made the crowd turn to look. Sure enough, even as Chairman Kang was still wiping away the blood, the man had already lifted his head to survey his surroundings.
The crowd fell silent, and many of them couldn’t process the sudden change. He’s awake just like that?
It wasn’t that they thought the man waking up was a bad thing, but they were shocked that the young man had revived him with just a needle prick and a press of his hand. It seemed far too simple. They felt that if they had been the ones to do it, they would have succeeded too. It’s just sticking someone with a needle and pressing down, after all...
It wasn’t just the onlookers; even Yu Yen and Wang Lei had the same thought. They exchanged glances, both feeling that something wasn’t quite right. Based on their medical knowledge, they could just about imitate the barehanded hemostasis from before, provided they knew the layout of the blood vessels. But stopping a wound from bleeding instantly just by pressing on it... that was bordering on mystical.
In truth, if they had seen Wang Jian’s display of Telekinesis like Chairman Kang had, none of this would have seemed like a big deal. Mystical or not, this was simply reality.
The reason Wang Jian could perform such an unbelievable feat was that qi is a form of Life Energy. It could rapidly stimulate the man’s body, causing the blood at the wound to coagulate instantly and even accelerating the healing process.
When Chairman Kang saw this, only two words came to mind: pure envy. He silently prayed that he could learn Qi Cultivation soon.
The moment she saw her father awaken, Xiao Yuan rushed over. The tears she had been holding back burst forth like a dam breaking, and the entire pavilion filled with the sound of her sobs.
"SOB! SOB! SOB!"
"Daddy, daddy!"
"SOB! SOB! SOB!"
Now, Xiao Yuan could barely get the word ’Daddy’ out, her cries interrupting her, until the man regained his senses. He began gently patting her back and consoling her. "Don’t cry, my little Xiao Yuan. Daddy’s all right now. If you keep crying, you won’t look pretty anymore with your face all streaked with tears."
"SOB..." Xiao Yuan didn’t care about that. Hearing her father’s voice only made her weep harder, and she let out a loud wail. "WAAAAHHH! If it weren’t for that doctor brother, Daddy would be gone!"
Amidst Xiao Yuan’s broken sobs, her father finally managed to make out one relatively complete sentence.
Doctor brother?
An Xuanyi keenly latched onto the keywords from his daughter’s cries: doctor... brother. While continuing to pat Xiao Yuan’s back to soothe her, he surveyed the people closest to him. Among the group of people surrounding them, any of the young men, including Wang Jian, could have been the "brother" Xiao Yuan mentioned.
However, when he saw the bloodstains on Wang Jian, his gaze locked onto him. When An Xuanyi woke up, he had already noticed the sticky sensation all over his body. It was blood, and it was still wet and viscous. Since he still needed to calm Xiao Yuan, he simply made brief eye contact with Wang Jian, gave a simple nod to express his thanks, and then offered a wry smile before turning his attention back to comforting his child.
Wang Jian and the others watched from the side. They had to admit that the bond between An Xuanyi and his daughter Xiao Yuan was truly impressive. In just a few minutes, An Xuanyi had not only soothed the child but had even made her laugh.
To Wang Jian, this was nothing short of incredible. Despite his ease in chatting with patients, there was one type he feared the most: children. He found communicating accurately with them difficult and troublesome, and he was the type to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Only after Xiao Yuan had calmed down did Wang Jian get a chance to speak with An Xuanyi. He then explained everything, including An Xuanyi’s condition and the emergency treatment method he’d been forced to use.
"It was an emergency, and there were no suitable tools available. I had to use Xiao Yuan’s hairpin; otherwise, things could have gotten really dangerous."
"Doctor Wang, your Medical Skills are extraordinary. I am deeply indebted to you for saving my life, and I will be sure to reward you generously."
Just as Wang Jian and An Xuanyi finished speaking, a commotion erupted in the crowd. A group of people pushed their way through, shouting, "They’re here, they’re here! The doctors from the scenic area have arrived, and they brought blood pressure medication!"
The enthusiastic man leading the group had barely emerged when the words caught in his throat. Following behind him were the manager of the scenic area and a medical staff member in a white coat. All of them froze, staring at the scene inside the pavilion.
Good heavens, why did the pavilion look like a murder scene? If not for the fact that everyone inside was smiling and talking, the area manager would have pulled out his phone to call the police.
In no time, the helpful man who had run for help pointed out An Xuanyi, telling the manager that he was the patient.
The manager’s name was Li Xiaoqiang. He had just been promoted and was hoping to make a strong impression in his new role. He never imagined that just a week into the job, an incident like this would occur in his area. Fortunately, a young man had saved the day. Otherwise, his luck would have truly hit rock bottom. His mood on the way here had been like a log flume ride, taking a steep plunge before suddenly leveling out.
While Li Xiaoqiang stood there dazed, he managed to piece together the gist of what had happened from the hushed discussions in the crowd.
As a leader, Li Xiaoqiang walked directly into the pavilion, ignoring the large pool of blood on the ground. He held the blood pressure medication he had taken from the medical staff and said, "Gentlemen, this is the emergency medication from our scenic area. It’s all new stock we just brought in."
As he spoke, Li Xiaoqiang handed the medicine to Wang Jian.
Wang Jian took the medicine, looked over the ingredients and instructions, and noted the manufacturer. He felt a bit strange when he saw it was from the Cai Group, but the medicine was just standard blood pressure medication, nothing out of the ordinary.
He then handed the medicine to An Xuanyi with a smile. "Given your current condition, you don’t need to take this anymore. But it’s good to have on hand, just in case."
An Xuanyi accepted the medicine with some embarrassment. "Actually, I usually carry my medication. I was in a rush today and must have left it in the car. I’ll just call my driver to come over. As for this medicine... it’s better to save it for someone who really needs it."
With that, he handed the medicine back to Li Xiaoqiang and offered a string of thanks.
Li Xiaoqiang looked at the medicine in his hand, then at An Xuanyi, who looked no different from a healthy person, and finally at Wang Jian standing beside him. The man who had called for help had described the scene as horrific, as if someone were on the verge of death and a child was involved. That’s what had scared Li Xiaoqiang into sprinting all the way from his office at the foot of the mountain. Yet upon arriving, he found the so-called patient perfectly fine, with a complexion as healthy as anyone’s. If not for the bloodstains on the ground attesting to the recent ordeal, he wouldn’t have even known anything had happened.
With so many people gathered around, Li Xiaoqiang didn’t believe it was all just an exaggerated rumor. The only explanation was that an incredibly skilled doctor had resolved the crisis. From this, Li Xiaoqiang came to a very impressive conclusion about Wang Jian’s Medical Skills.
The staff members who had come with Li Xiaoqiang had already done a good job dispersing the crowd.
Only then did Li Xiaoqiang hand out his business card and introduce himself. He had intended to offer them a waiver for the scenic area’s fees, but then he suddenly remembered they were running a promotion and admission was already free. In the end, he couldn’t offer them anything tangible. He just kept repeating his thanks as he escorted Wang Jian’s group out of the scenic area, before leaving with his staff, a look of regret on his face.
Before he left, Wang Jian called out, "We called for an ambulance earlier, but it looks like we won’t need it now. When they arrive, could you please handle it for us?"
Li Xiaoqiang waved his hand dismissively. "Don’t you worry about a thing! They’ll be more relieved than anyone to hear the patient has recovered and left. It’s no trouble at all."
With that reassurance, Wang Jian and his friends parted ways with Li Xiaoqiang’s group.
It wasn’t that Li Xiaoqiang was rushing them off, but Wang Jian and An Xuanyi were both covered in blood, making it inappropriate to continue sightseeing. Chairman Kang and the others had also been spattered, so they all decided to leave the scenic area together.
When Wang Jian’s party reached the parking lot, An Xuanyi seemed to finally collect himself. He pulled a phone from his blood-stained clothes and said to Wang Jian, "Young man, may I have your number? Our paths crossed and we shared a life-and-death moment. If we don’t exchange contact information, who knows when we might meet again."
His way of speaking was quite refined and formal, a rarity in modern times.
"Of course. Mr. An, your accent doesn’t sound local, does it?" Wang Jian asked as he took out his phone and added An Xuanyi as a friend on his messaging app.
An Xuanyi looked at the chat window with the new contact and smiled. "Indeed. My ancestors are from Capital City. They went overseas and only returned a few decades ago. We live in Shan Province now. I was just planning to take Xiao Yuan out for some fresh air on my day off. I never expected something like this to happen. If it hadn’t been for you skilled doctors, I really don’t know what I would have done."
Hearing An Xuanyi refer to them as skilled doctors made Chairman Kang’s roommates blush, basking in Wang Jian’s reflected glory.
Just as they were speaking, the driver An Xuanyi had mentioned earlier pulled up in a car. A man got out of the driver’s seat, causing Wang Jian to stare in stunned silence.
"Wang Deqiang?"
