Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil-Chapter 1958: Granting a Bloodline Assimilation Approval
Eren couldn't be bothered with distant enemies.
Right now, his priority was Shir—the demigod before him. That was an opponent he could handle.
He also wasn't overly concerned about God Raashim backing Shir. That was precisely why he had devised a plan to seize the faith of others.
God Raashim and his avatar, Shir, were simply test cases—an experiment to see if he could steal divine faith for himself and make things work the way he wanted. If this worked, he could replicate the process with other Immortals and their followers.
Instead of painstakingly building an empire from the ground up, it was far more efficient to conquer lands already ruled by others using his power and wits.
The process would be dangerous, filled with struggles and uncertainties, but the rewards would be immense—and, more importantly, time-saving.
As such, the Butcher let go of his distracting thoughts.
Turning to the sea monster, he asked, "Brother, why don't you assume your humanoid form before we proceed? It would make things much simpler for me."
"Oh!" The sea monster was momentarily stunned before nodding. "Alright," he said, closing his eyes.
In the next moment, his gigantic figure shrank. Eren also let go of his Titan Transformation and returned to his regular form before carefully observing the sea monster.
In his humanoid form, the sea monster had frizzy dark blue hair and a square-shaped, rugged face. His sharp, sawtooth-like teeth included two prominent fangs jutting out from the sides of his mouth.
His golden eyes glowed faintly as he breathed in and out. His facial features were harsh and menacing, yet his eyes carried a childlike innocence—a stark contrast to his otherwise fearsome appearance.
The sea monster could never be mistaken for a human due to his distinct ocean-blue skin. He was incredibly tall, robust, and muscular. With his broad, exposed chest, powerful arms, and pillar-like legs, he exuded an intimidating presence.
Despite his deep-sea creature aura and massive humanoid form, there was something paradoxically gentle about him. The influence of the Immortal Artifact on his soul softened his menacing aura, making him seem more like a gentle giant than a pure predator.
Runic tattoos covered his upper chest, shoulders, and upper back. These markings bore a striking resemblance to the ones Eren manifested in his white-haired Elder Ichor transformation.
However, there was a clear disharmony in the sea monster's runes, hinting at an instability in his Elder Ichor bloodline.
Reen moved closer to Eren as he observed the runic tattoos on the sea monster's chest, trying to decipher their meaning. She remained silent for a while before finally speaking.
"Erni, are you thinking of removing the bloodline disharmony within this guy?"
"Um… no," Eren shook his head before narrowing his eyes at the sea monster.
"Or more precisely, there's no actual bloodline disharmony within him. Not really. There's some resistance present in his bloodline, but it doesn't stem from the Elder Ichor bloodline itself.
It's as if the Elder Ichor bloodline refused to fully integrate with him and stopped the transfusion midway.
This has made his bloodline unstable, yes—but at the same time, it saved his life. If the Elder Ichor bloodline had continued transforming his existence any further, he would have died.
It's almost as if the Elder Ichor bloodline itself developed a consciousness and halted the process under someone's influence," Eren commented, his mind seemingly lost in thought.
By this point, the Butcher had come to understand that the incomplete runic patterns on the sea monster's body represented the Worldly Laws and Existential Concepts.
By comparing the sea monster's runic patterns to his own, Eren could make an educated guess about what was happening.
The original white-haired Demon Emperor had already interfered with the cause-and-effect fabric of the boundless cosmos to select a suitable inheritor for himself.
Since Eren was his True Inheritor in this age, no other True Inheritor would be chosen for the Demon Emperor's legacy—no matter how talented they were or how successful their assimilation with the Elder Ichor bloodline had been. Not unless he died before his ascension to Immortality.

That being said, the Elder Ichor bloodline within the sea monster had not outright rejected him, nor had it killed him immediately. Instead, it had stopped the process midway, as if waiting for someone's approval. A bloodline assimilation approval.
But whose approval?
Eren's mind quickly arrived at the answer.
'Me! It's waiting for my approval!'
He realized, his eyes widening slightly as the realization dawned on him. It seemed that when the Demon Emperor had interfered with the world's cause-and-effect structure, he had left some leeway for his other inheritors to gain fragments of his power.
And he had placed his True Inheritor in charge of selecting them—those who could serve as allies and assist him.
'No wonder I felt such a strong urge to meet this sea monster despite my initial reluctance. Is this what they call fate?' Eren mused to himself. He smiled and shook his head. Now that he had confirmed his suspicions, it was time to act.
It seemed that the old Demon Emperor himself wanted Eren to have a helping hand in the form of other Elder Ichor inheritors.
Of course, the choice was his to make. If he deemed these inheritors useful, he could not only prevent them from dying due to bloodline disharmony but also empower them.
And if he found them troublesome, all he needed to do was think about destroying them. The Elder Ichor bloodline within the inheritors would then carry out his wishes, killing them from the inside.
This was Eren's right as the True Inheritor of the Elder Ichor Divine Throne.
As long as he played his cards right, no other inheritor possessing an Elder Ichor Artifact could threaten him. Of course, if someone had managed to establish an ownership of the Elder Ichor Immortal Artifact, it would be a different ballgame.
Anyway, the butcher could still communicate directly with the Immortal Artifacts themselves.
Thinking of this, he glanced at the Immortalwood Conch, still lodged in the sea monster's back.
