Vampire Progenitor System-Chapter 160: The Apocalypse Is Here
Chapter 160: The Apocalypse Is Here
Smoke coiled through the broken skyscraper like dying serpents.
Deep within the collapsed floors, far beneath twisted steel and scorched concrete, lay Vladimir’s ruined body. His chest was caved inward, bones shattered like glass. Black blood seeped between the cracks in the floor, dripping into the hollow below. His ashen wings twitched once. Twice. Then fell still.
Silence.
Until a footstep echoed in the dark.
Light didn’t come with it. Only presence. Heavy. Final. It pressed against the broken walls like a hand closing around a candle flame. Vladimir’s remaining eye flickered open, dim and unfocused. Shadows shifted in front of him, resolving into a tall figure. Bare feet on scorched steel. A simple black robe that moved like liquid night. Golden eyes looking down at him, quiet and unblinking.
Adam.
Vladimir’s throat rattled with a broken laugh. "Come to... finish me off...?" he rasped. Blood bubbled from his lips, thick and black as oil.
Adam didn’t answer at first. He crouched down in front of him, tilting his head slightly. His gold eyes gleamed faintly in the darkness, reflecting Vladimir’s twisted form.
"Look at you," Adam said softly. His voice carried no mockery. Just simple truth. "You wanted power so badly... you forgot why you wanted it in the first place."
Vladimir snarled, his cracked fangs flashing weakly in the dim light. "Don’t... lecture me... human..."
Adam’s lips twitched. Not quite a smile. "Not human. Not anymore."
He raised his hand. A faint pulse of white light flickered in his palm. Its glow spilled across Vladimir’s ruined body, illuminating the wreckage around them in pale silver.
"Vladimir," Adam said quietly, his voice vibrating with a resonance that dug into the marrow of the world itself. "I can give you what you want."
Vladimir’s breathing hitched. His remaining wing twitched against the rubble. "What... do you want... in return...?"
Adam tilted his head slightly, studying him like a broken animal caught in wire.
"I want Lucifer gone," he said simply.
The words fell into the silence like stones dropped into a still lake. Vladimir coughed, black blood trailing down his chin as his broken chest convulsed with a dry laugh.
"You... want him dead... and you come... to me?" His eye flickered, hazy with pain and dying rage. "He... will kill me again..."
Adam’s golden gaze didn’t waver. The white light in his palm pulsed brighter, illuminating the broken glyphs burned into Vladimir’s arm and chest. "Not if I give you my power," he said softly.
Vladimir went silent. The shadows curled tighter around them, pressing down with the weight of something ancient and unspoken. Outside, the wind howled through the shattered windows above, rattling the broken girders like dying chimes.
Finally, Vladimir’s lip curled into a weak, blood-slicked smile.
"Give it to me," he whispered. His voice shook with something close to desperation. "Give me your power. Let me... end him."
Adam leaned forward, his golden eyes dimming slightly as he studied the dying vampire before him. Then he raised his hand and pressed his palm gently against Vladimir’s forehead. For a moment, nothing happened. The silence stretched out, heavy and endless.
Then—
White light erupted from Adam’s palm, flooding into Vladimir’s skull like liquid fire. His body arched violently, a scream tearing from his throat, echoing up through the collapsed skyscraper and out into the burning dawn above. His broken bones snapped back into place. His caved chest expanded, black blood evaporating into shadow. His wings reformed, no longer ashen and decayed but sleek and pitch black, tipped with flickering gold fire. His eyes burned brighter, their crimson-gold glow searing the air around him with rippling heat.
The glyphs along his arms and chest ignited, shifting and reforming into new symbols—marks of something older than vampirism or demonic blood. Marks of Adam.
Vladimir gasped as the power settled into his veins, burning through every nerve like molten metal. He clenched his clawed hands, feeling the strength hum under his skin with terrifying depth.
Adam lowered his hand, the light fading. His gaze remained calm. Unmoved. "You have what you wanted," he said softly. "Now go."
Vladimir staggered to his feet. His wings unfurled behind him with a sound like tearing silk. He flexed his claws, feeling the air ripple around them. He raised his gaze to Adam, eyes burning with new, unstable light.
"What... are you going to do...?" he asked quietly, his voice still ragged with fading agony.
Adam stood and turned away, his bare feet silent on the broken steel. "I am going to take what belongs to me," he said softly. "This world. Its core. Everything within it."
He looked over his shoulder, golden eyes glowing faintly. "Start fresh. Build again. Harvest this world and become what I was always meant to be."
Vladimir watched him for a long moment, his wings twitching with silent rage. Then he lowered his head slightly, a twisted grin curling across his blood-stained lips.
"Then I will give you what you want," he whispered. "I will bring you Lucifer’s head."
Adam didn’t answer. He stepped forward once—and vanished. No sound. No flicker of power. Just gone.
Vladimir stood alone in the collapsed skyscraper, the rising dawn casting faint gold light across his newly reborn form. He spread his wings wide, feeling the new strength pulse under his skin like a war drum.
His claws clenched.
"Lucifer Origin..." he whispered, his voice echoing through the broken steel and shattered glass. "Let’s see what your blood... tastes like... when it’s dripping from my hands."
He stepped forward once, wings beating hard. The rubble exploded beneath his feet as he shot into the morning sky, a streak of black and gold ripping through the smoke-choked heavens.
And far above, the sun rose over New York, bleeding light across a world about to shatter once more.
Elsewhere
"Lucifer is back," Ella said sensing Lucifer the moment they were about to leave New York, "And he is heading towards us,"
As soon as she said that, Lucifer descended from the sky.
"Hello ladies, this is not time for talks, the apocalypse is here and we have to get out of this planet."
