Yeon’s POV

A loud bang on the door wakes me and I turn on my side with an angry huff. Today is supposed to be my day off, I should be resting but I know my action will have consequences.

Maybe it’s the first step of the consequence that is knocking on my door at nine a.m.

"Lord Hwang! Luna!" the person knocking yells from outside the door and I sit up to go respond but my husband pushes me down to sleep.

"Don’t move, I’ll handle it" he says groggily and rolls out of the bed, he run his fingers through his hair, looking every bit the rugged Lord he is.

I shut my eyes with the image of my husband broad back on my mind, but they snap open when he coughs twice, the sound is raw and I sit up again, "my lord?" I call and he looks back at me.

"Don’t worry, I’m fine, I’ll be back" he says and leaves the room.

I return to lying and shut my eyes, breathing in my husband’s earthy scent that has been imprinted into the pillow and sheets, relaxed at the way it feels like I’m wrapped up in a serene forest.

I reach out to pick up my phone and out of habit, I call Jaehyun, the young man picks up on the first ring, and I groan in greeting.

"Hello mom" he says into the phone, and I nod as if he can see me through the phone.

"How is Yujun?" I ask him.

"I am fine as well mom, thank you for asking" Jaehyun says sarcastically and I snicker, that’s my son.

"Mom is sorry, Jaehyunnie, my precious baby, how are you?" I ask him and he chuckles softly; in the background I hear Yujun’s voice asking who is on the phone.

"It’s mom" Jaehyun says loudly, "Yeon-ssi, hello" sweet Yujun says and I sigh, "baby, I thought I was mom? What happened to mom?" I ask the male omega, and I can envision him blushing already.

"Mom, hello, are you fine today?" Yujun asks, his voice sounds like he’s closer to the phone.

"I’m alright, is that bone head treating you well?" I ask and Yujun says a small yes, "and the pup?" I ask.

"The pup is just fine, I got good rest and ate well this morning" Yujun says, I can’t help but smile, he sounds so precious and so shy through the phone, "that’s good" I say softly and the omega makes a happy noise.

"Take care of yourself, where is Hyunnie?" I ask and my son hums, it sounds like they are by the seaside, I love that little place so much and I can’t wait to see when they return.

"Mom, kiss dad for me" Jaehyun says, "on the cheek, I beg you, don’t do too much" he adds and I burst into laughter.

The relationship I have with my son is precious and I know we did a good Job raising him the way we did.

"Bye for now my loves" I say and end the call.

I turn around to continue resting when I feel a silent rage through my mating bond and I sit up immediately.

Ugh.

The silent rage is always the worst one, someone has pissed my husband off, he won’t complain or voice his annoyance, but I live for it.

I reach for my gun under my pillow and place my feet on the floor, my back cracks as I get out, I move around slowly and mumble as I make my way to the door with mussed hair and sleep heavy eyes.

This is better be worth my time and backache.

I walk down the hall, and a few workers and pack members greet me with smiles, I keep walking till I arrive at the pack’s meeting room, the door is locked, and a guard is standing in front of it.

"Luna" he greets me with a deep bow, he looks disturbed, "dispute?" I ask and he nod, eyes turning hard with his frustration with whatever is happening in there, "I’ll handle it" I say and just in time, I find Jisung coming behind me.

The alpha walks in relaxed and his eyes flickers from the guard to me, and the guard drops his eyes immediately with his scent spiking slightly...ah...I see.

I smirk and Jisung raises a brow, "conflict?" he asks as his eyes drop to the gun in my hand.

That’s right, fight now, matchmake later.

"Hmm, open the door" I say and the young beta rushes to open the door, "you have taste" I whisper to Jisung as we walk in and he scoffs, proud.

"My Lord" I say loudly and the entire room turns to me, they all look tense and one elder stands in front of my husband, frozen mid action at the sound of my entrance and the sight of Jisung’s scowl.

My husband nods at me and I go to sit by his side and Jisung takes his seat on the right side where he belongs next to my husband, the three of us make a mean trio, we always have.

"Continue" my husband says to the elder in front of us.

"My lord, what I’m saying that...the downfall of our world will start with letting a barbarian rule" he says and I lean forward.

Barbarian? Who?

"And not just any barbarian but an enemy!"

Oh...Yujun? I pick my gun to examine it, the bullets are begging to be buried in warm skin, thank goddess I’m a good nurse, I’ll treat him when I’m done.

"And not just that, he’s an omega, weak and-" I don’t wait for him to finish before pulling the trigger, shooting the spot in front of him, showing him how easily I can take out his toes in a second.

"I can kill you and no one will question me, do you know that?" I ask him and he keeps looking at the bullet in front of his feet, mouth open and eyes filled with fear.

"Luna" he says, the room is silent, almost as if it’s frozen in time with my action.

"This is a pack that respects omegas for who they are, gifts of the goddess, how dare you speak down on a male omega?" I ask with anger, and I feel my husband’s anger drop slightly, stepping back for me to handle it.

"Luna...I am only speaking for the good of this pack, other packs are led by powerful alphas" he says, stutter and shaking with every word he says and Jisung sighs.

"The good of this pack is what the Lord of the pack says" I growl and a member that I have always seen with Ki Minho stands up, "Ki Minho was unjustly murdered, and no one cares" he says with all the anger he has been suppressing.

"Define unjustly" Jisung says from his seat, voice rough from years of smoking, and unhidden irritation, "Ki only ever stood for the family and the clan, he spent his life building this place" the foolish man says and Jisung laughs.

"Ki would have died anyways, maybe even by my hands, he dared to shoot the heir of this clan in front of me" Jisung says and the people who knew nothing about it gasp collectively, shocked at the background story of Ki’s crime.

"Y-you are only siding with them because you are weak!" the man, Ki’s supporter says, his eyes are red with the bitterness he has inside of him and I chuckle lowly.

"You! you are only obsessed with them because of the Luna! You are nothing but a spineless motherfucker who wants a warm hole" the man says and my husband raises his hand, "that’s enough"

"No! I will not be silenced like Ki, we need to be like the other clans, I’m tired of the weakness! Of the Luna and his pathetic lovers"

His words die in his throat as I raise my gun and point it at his head.

"Is it enough or not?" I ask him and he bows his head.

"My love life is my business, my husband’s throne is my husband’s business and Jisung’s strength is his business" I say, the man raises his head slightly and my husband tilts his head, a permission and I pull the trigger.

The man’s body falls forward on the desk and the people around him try to jump out of the way to avoid the blood splatter.

The rest of the room stares at me with awe, it’s not the first time seeing me threaten or kill, but they can never wrap their head around the power an omega can have.

"Rebels will be rebels, isn’t it just better to end them?" I ask the rest of the room and go to stand behind my husband.

"Today is my off day, if anyone else has something to say, hurry with it" I say and lean on the seat, resting my arms on my Lord’s shoulder.

When no one responds, my husband looks up at me with adoration in his eyes, "good job" he says and I press a peck on his lips.

Jisung looks at us and gives us a half smile, the most he does, I know he got hurt by the opposers words but...at the end of the day we’re all fine.

I can fight here but I don’t know if I can hold back the impending doom.
