URBAN VILLAIN SYSTEM-Chapter 27: Dealing With A Clown
The Frost family training ground...
The training ground is a large open field, covered by tall Russian willow trees.
The air was cool, filled with the faint scent of water and fresh leaves.
Several young members of the Frost family had gathered, most of them young women, laughing and forming teams for a casual game of Martial football.
At the edge of the playground Lily Frost stood in silence. She wasn’t participating, merely observing. But all the youth were giving side glances to her.
The topic of her upcoming marriage had already spread among them.
Whispers floated through the air, careful and restrained, yet filled with curiosity and quiet ridicule. Some suppressed laughter, others exchanged knowing glances, but no one dared to speak openly while Lily was present.
Only one person didn’t bother hiding his intentions.
John Frost...
The son of the Fifth-Elder walked forward casually, spinning a heavy metal ball in his hand as if it weighed nothing. The ball itself was forged from reinforced iron, far beyond what an ordinary person could even lift, yet in his grasp it seemed no more than a toy.
Without warning, he tossed it lightly toward Lily.
She caught it effortlessly.
"Sister," John called out loudly, his tone relaxed but direct, "you deserve better than this."
Lily raised an eyebrow slightly, her gaze shifting toward him. She had expected this. Among all the family members, John had the most to lose from her marriage.
"Better?! Then tell me, brother... Who do you think I should marry?" she asked calmly.
John didn’t hesitate. "Anyone but Tony Clark," he said bluntly. "If you truly want, there will be a line of geniuses from across the world waiting for you. People worthy of standing beside you."
His voice lowered slightly as he stepped closer.
"But Tony?! He’s nothing but a disgrace. Even his own family barely tolerates him. Lazy, arrogant, and completely talentless despite his background. Do you really think someone like him can stand beside you?"
Lily didn’t respond... Her silence only encouraged him.
"If trouble comes in the future," John continued, "What will he do? Protect you? Support our family? No. He’ll only drag you down. He’ll become a burden... both to you and family."
For a moment, Lily remained still, her expression unreadable.
But inside... She understood everything. This wasn’t a concern... This was fear.
John wasn’t worried about her future. He was worried about his own. If she secured her position as the next family head, his chances would vanish completely.
Seeing her silent, John pressed further, his-tone shifting into something almost persuasive.
"If you’re open to suggestions," he said, "the Ninth Prince of the British Imperial family, Edward Smith is a close friend of mine. He’s talented, influential, and destined for greatness. He’s someone who can truly match you."
He smiled slightly, as if presenting the perfect option.
"With him, you gain power, status, and a future far beyond this place. The elders would support it as well. You deserve someone of equal standing... not... A Black Suitcase!."
He didn’t say Tony’s name this time... He didn’t need to.
Lily’s lips curved faintly. "Thank you for your concern," she said at last, her voice calm but firm. "But don’t repeat this again."
John blinked.
"Tony Clark is my future husband," she continued, her-tone turning colder. "This matter has already been decided. Unless I ask for your opinion, keep it to yourself."
The shift in her tone stunned him... For a moment, he simply stared.
"Sister... you’re not serious, are you? You can still change this. Why ruin your life for something like this?" he asked.
"My decision does not require your approval," she replied. "And my position within this family is not as fragile as you seem to think."
John’s expression darkened slightly, though he quickly masked it.
"You’re tying yourself down because of family responsibility," he said, forcing a smile. "But before the marriage is finalized, you still have a choice. Don’t waste it."
Lily’s patience snapped.
"That’s enough," she said coldly. "My engagement is confirmed. The elders support it. I have no intention of changing it. Stop interfering."
John clenched his jaw... He had pushed too far. Still, he wasn’t willing to back down.
"Then at least think carefully," he said, his tone lowering again. "That man may not even keep his position as the Clark family’s prince. Even with this marriage, his future is uncertain."
Before Lily could respond...
A voice cut through the air.
"Have you finished?"
Both of them froze.
Slowly... They turned.
Tony stood a short distance away, his hands casually tucked into his pockets, his expression relaxed but his eyes carrying a faint, dangerous edge.
No one knew how long he had been there.
But it was clear... He had heard enough.
John stiffened slightly before quickly forcing a smile. "Ah, Tony! I didn’t expect you here," he said, his tone shifting instantly. "We were just discussing your engagement. I was actually praising you..."
Tony didn’t let him finish.
He stepped forward, closing the distance without hurry, his gaze fixed on John.
The metal-ball was still in Lily’s hand... Tony took it from her casually.
Then... He tossed it back toward John.
Not violently.... But with enough force to make the intent clear.
"Take your game somewhere else," Tony said calmly. "And next time, don’t talk behind someone’s back if you can’t say it to their face."
John caught the ball, but his expression froze. For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond. No one had ever spoken to him like that.
Lily’s eyes flickered slightly, surprise passing through them before disappearing just as quickly.
Tony didn’t even look at her... His attention remained on John.
John’s grip tightened around the ball... His smile had completely vanished.
"Stop acting mighty... you don’t have enough strength to back yourself," John said quietly.
Tony’s lips curved faintly.
"To deal with a clown, I don’t need to use my strength." Tony said casually.
The two stood facing each other, the tension between them thick enough to be felt by everyone present.
Then... Tony stepped slightly closer.
His voice dropped, just enough for John to hear clearly.
"If you want to interfere in my matters," he said, "at least have the courage to do it openly."
John’s jaw clenched in frustration.
All the Frost family ladies stared with interest. John felt he will look weak if he turn back.
