Chapter 50: Chapter 49: Let’s Splurge

But just as he reached his front door, his phone buzzed again with an unexpected message...

Taking out his phone, he looked at the message

" ALERT: Your shoes just texted us. They’re tired of being ignored. Give them the upgrade they deserve! 25% off your first order at [NewFeet.com] with code NEWFEET. Don’t make your shoes start a protest! "

But funnily found it was just a random marketing alert. He couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile; it seemed like he was a bit too tense these days and needed to chill

Tossing the phone aside, he went straight to the washroom.

After freshening up, he stood in front of the mirror, considering his outfit for the day. He didn’t need something flashy to show off, nor did he like that. So, after looking through the wardrobe, he pulled out a white, well-fitted t-shirt, a red and black checkered shirt, and paired them with dark, slim-fit jeans.

To complete the look, he slipped on white sneakers. After a moment of thought, he added a simple, sleek watch.

Since it was sunny in LA, he grabbed a pair of black sunglasses that not only kept the glare out of his eyes but also gave him an effortlessly cool vibe.

Looking at himself in the mirror, he couldn’t help but give a slight nod of approval. The outfit was simple and comfortable but still gave off an air of effortless style.

After getting ready, he headed to the garage, where a beast was sleeping peacefully.

His eyes gleamed as he looked at his one-of-a-kind obsidian-colored car, its sleek, muscular lines never failing to stir something in him. No matter how many times he admired it, a deep appreciation always surged within him.

With a satisfied grin, he slid into the driver’s seat. The soft leather instantly enveloped his body. and with a quick twist of the key, the ignition roared to life.

With a deep rumble, the beast growled to life, its roar sending a thrill through his body.

It was finally time for this beast, made for speed and power, to show its might fully.

Pulling the car out of the garage, the tires screeched as he floored the with a strong push, he was pressed back into the seats.

The car surged forward, instantly blurring the world outside the window, and for a moment, he lost himself in the raw power of the car.

After a few exhilarating minutes, he eased up on the throttle as he entered the main road, partly due to the increased traffic and partly to truly enjoy the drive.

He hadn’t had breakfast yet because today, he wanted to start his day with a bang. Now that he had decided to enjoy himself, he planned to do it to the extreme.

It’s not like he was going to be short on the $100k since he already had over $100 million, and don’t forget about the system.

So, he was en route to one of the most famous restaurants in LA, "The Vine," a celebrity-favorite brunch hotspot known for its delicious food and stylish ambiance.

Pulling into a nearby parking spot, he chicly stepped out of the car, looking quite cool—at least, that’s what the people watching him seemed to think.

As he walked in, the staff greeted him with polite smiles. Just by looking at his demeanor, they could tell that he was someone who would spend a handsome amount of money. That’s why they didn’t even step forward to ask for a reservation.

Rex, however, was momentarily taken aback by the restaurant’s interior. It was the first time he’d seen a place that combined both luxury and simplicity so seamlessly.

The restaurant’s interior was a mix of chic and opulent, with plush velvet seating, glossy marble floors, and elegant floral arrangements. The tables, draped with white linens, were adorned with delicate crystal glassware, reflecting the golden glow from the chandeliers overhead. The vibe was exclusive yet casual—a perfect blend of luxury and comfort.

He chose a seat by the window, the sunlight streaming in and casting a warm glow across the room. He took a moment to savor the peace and quiet, basking in the luxury of the moment.

As soon as he turned his attention to the table, a beautiful young waitress hurriedly stepped forward and politely handed him the menu.

"Thank you," he said politely.

If someone is polite and gives you respect, it’s only natural to reciprocate, no matter their status or job or position.

Looking through the menu, filled with dishes with fancy names, he couldn’t decide what to order, so he simply stopped trying and turned to the waitress, who was patiently waiting by his side.

"Hey! What are your signature dishes? "he asked casually.

"We have several signature breakfast packages, sir, each tailored to different price ranges," the waiter responded politely. "Which one would you prefer?"

Without even thinking about it, he said, "Give me your best dishes. Price doesn’t matter, it just has to be delicious."

"O-oh... okay, sir! Just wait a bit; it will be ready soon." The waitress’s eyes widened slightly, as she hurriedly answered and rushed toward the kitchen.

She didn’t confirm or even question him. Just by the fact that he didn’t flinch while looking at the menu and didn’t ask for the price, she knew he was someone who could definitely afford it.

How was she sure? Despite her young age, she’d been working here for years and had seen all kinds of customers. Just by looking at their demeanor, you could tell the difference. Clothes can be faked, but the aura of ease and confidence can’t.

As Rex sat there, waiting for his food, he couldn’t help but notice the curious glances from the other customers. Especially the women. Their eyes lingering on him for just a moment too long. Some even seemed eager to give it a try but ultimately didn’t.

But he didn’t mind, he was slowly getting used to this.

Even though he was wearing simple clothes that didn’t match the vibe of the restaurant, it didn’t matter. He was handsome, absurdly handsome, which made up for it all.

Sitting in a corner, a group of four girls was seated. They were also curiously looking in Rex’s direction, not because of anything else, but because he was handsome—and looking at beautiful things is human nature.

"Hey, do you think he’s some celebrity?" an okay-looking brunette nudged her friend, who was wearing glasses.

"Who knows? But if he was really some celebrity, there’s no way he would be unknown, especially with that handsome face," the girl with glasses replied coolly, looking quite serious.

"Yeah, even if he doesn’t have any skills, he could be famous with that face," another girl with red hair and a bit of freckles chimed in.

"Hey, what do you think?" the brunette nudged the only girl who was busy with her phone, seriously looking at something.

Even though her friends were talking and joking about a guy, she remained absorbed in her phone, her brow furrowed as she scrolled through work emails.

The hum of conversation faded into the background; her focus was unwavering.

Hearing her friend call her name, she finally looked up. Her sharp black eyes met theirs with a flicker of annoyance, as if the world outside her work could wait.

She exuded quiet confidence, with sharp black eyes and sleek black hair that framed her face perfectly.

Her features were angular and elegant, with high cheekbones and a jawline that suggested both strength and grace. Despite the casual setting, she carried an air of authority, dressed in perfectly tailored business attire, with a natural charm that was almost overshadowed by her intense focus.

But her friends were used to her workaholic nature and didn’t mind her annoyance.

"What do you think? Is he some kind of celebrity?" the brunette asked again, pointing toward Rex, who was sitting peacefully, looking out the window with the bright sunshine falling on him, making him even more handsome.

Hearing this, she instinctively followed the direction of her finger and looked toward Rex.

But the moment her eyes fell on him, she was stunned.

Her brows furrowed as she looked intensely, her mind working on overdrive.

Seeing her like this, her friends stopped joking and looked at her curiously, confused by her intense reaction.
