Untamed: The Alpha-Chapter 537 HOW CAN YOU DO THAT?
Chapter 537 HOW CAN YOU DO THAT?
Rhea had been sleeping for a whole day and before Knox brought her here, she did not eat anything, therefore, it was out of her control when her stomach growled.
Despite her fear and embarrassment, she had to admit it. "I am hungry," Rhea said timidly.
"What?" Knox was in disbelief. This was so absurd. The two of them were in the middle of an intense discussion, but she declared that she wanted to eat. It was so out of the blue.
"My tummy hurts. I am hungry," Rhea said. She was crying again, but this time she cried because she realized how hungry she was. "I am thirsty…" Crying had drained her energy and made her throat hurt too.
Knox blinked his eyes. This was ridiculous. Was a child around her age so ignorant? 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝘰𝓋𝘦𝘭.𝑐𝘰𝓂
"What do you usually eat?" Knox asked with a frown.
"The food that mommy usually cooks."
"Aside from that."
Rhea tilted her head. "Food that daddy usually cooks."
Whom she meant by daddy must be Sebastian, since she took Sebastian's last name. The thought of someone else being called 'daddy' by his own child made Knox's blood boil in annoyance and his emotions appeared on his face, which made Rhea shudder.
"Rhea can eat anything. Rhea is not a picky eater…" she said sullenly, because she thought Knox was angry again at her because of what she said.
Knox didn't like this, he didn't even do this when Zuri was little, but then he didn't have any other choice.
It took only a flick of his fingers to make a bowl of salad to appear out of thin air.
At first, Rhea was impressed by this magic and clapped her hands, but when she saw what was inside the bowl, her nose scrunched up.
"I want to eat human food," she said in a disappointed voice.
"Vegetables are good for you," Knox replied, as he leaned his back against the headrest of the bed, watching his daughter stare at the bowl of salad with distaste. Somehow, this reminded him of July, she also hated eating vegetables.
"I want meat…" Rhea whimpered.
"You said you are not a picky eater."
Rhea couldn't refute that and she looked like she was about to cry again as she forked the salad into her mouth.
"I feel like I am a goat…" Rhea mumbled under her breath, as she munched on her salad, looking miserable, but Knox enjoyed the sight. He did this to July too after he found out she didn't like vegetables at all.
But, after Rhea finished half of the salad, Knox made a plate of steak appear out of thin air, like he did with the salad bowl. It made Rhea's eyes shine brightly to see this and she ravished the meat happily.
Knox didn't realize this, but there was a soft smile on the corners of his lips when he watched her happy expression as she munched on the meat.
"I want a glass of warm milk, can you flick your fingers again?" Rhea asked enthusiastically. She seemed to forget that she was being kidnapped and also the fact that she was afraid of Knox just a few minutes ago.
===========================
"What do you think I should learn here, Chaos?" Zuri buried her face in the crooke of his shoulder, as they laid on the bed.
The woman named Tia, who declared herself as her grandmother, put her and Chaos in different bedrooms, but Zuri sneaked out of her room and ended up on Chaos's bed.
"We are wasting our time," Zuri said. She had been trying to persuade him to go back to the East Draghar, but Chaos didn't listen to her at all. He insisted that she needed to learn something from her mother's former pack. "This place is weird."
Chaos hugged her body and closed his eyes. "Sleep, Blue…" he said in a tired voice.
"I don't want to sleep, I want to go back," Zuri said sullenly, but the warmth from his body was so comforting. After all, this place was extremely cold. Even after Chaos covered her with his power, Zuri still felt so cold.
Right now, they were inside a castle-like place, the only building in this deserted place. She wondered how they could live in this kind of situation and what was even stranger was the fact there were no men in this place.
"Chaos?" Zuri lifted her head and then looked at Chaos's sleeping face. "Are you sleeping?" She nudged his cheek, but he didn't open his eyes. He looked exhausted, it seemed he had drained his energy when he teleported them here.
And no matter how much Zuri hated to be here, in this condition, Chaos wouldn't be able to take them back to East Draghar.
"What is actually your plan?" Zuri rested her head against his chest and closed her eyes. "At times like this, I really don't understand you, Chaos."
Zuri closed her eyes, as she listened to his heartbeat, which lulled her to sleep, but then she woke up when the temperature dropped.
"Why is it so cold?" Zuri rubbed her face and then lifted her head, she was still in the same position as before and Chaos was still fast asleep. He didn't seem to be bothered by the coldness, but she realized that something was wrong.
Chaos's body was so cold.
Zuri felt the coldness because Chaos's magic no longer worked and now his body was so cold.
"Chaos?" Zuri shook his body, she then sat down and looked panicked when Chaos didn't respond to her. "Chaos! Wake up!" Zuri's eyes widened in fear. She leaned over and pressed her ear against his chest. She still could hear his heartbeat and the warmth of his breath, but they were so weak, as if Chaos slipped out of her fingers.
No way.
There was no way he would die, right? He wouldn't die. He was an immortal.
"What actually happened to you!?" Zuri shook his body harder this time. "Chaos!"
Because there was no response from Chaos, Zuri got off the bed and rushed out of the bedroom to find Tia. She must know something about this.
When Zuri ran down this long corridor, she looked at the windows and the sky was still dark, but even if it was in the middle of the day, the sky still looked so gloomy here.
Zuri didn't like this place. From the coldness and the sky also the people from this pack, those things made her desperate and feel so down.
"What are you doing here?"
A white wolf approached her, but when she was close, she shifted into her human's form. She looked so young, probably around the same age as Zuri, but then you couldn't guess the age of a shifter, since they would look young even when they were a few hundred years old.
"I need to meet with Tia," Zuri said hastily. She was in a hurry, but this young woman was so calm, which made her anxiety rise up.
"You meant luna Tia," she corrected her. She flinched when Zuri used her grandmother's name when she spoke.
"Yes, luna Tia." However, she didn't have time to argue with her. There was something wrong with Chaos, and Knox was not here to help her figure out his condition. "I need to see her."
"She is sleeping now, you can come back in the morning," the young woman said lightly. She was clad in a thick overcoat that looked too big for her, yet she could move easily to block her way.
Zuri tried to calm down, since these people didn't even pretend to care about this matter. "This is an urgent matter and I need to see her right now."
Anger started to rise up in her blood and her claws emerged from the tips of her fingers. She didn't want to shift into her beast, because she didn't want to escalate this matter further, but this young woman didn't give her any other choice.
"No, she is sleeping, come back in the morning," she said in a stern voice.
"I can't come back in the morning, Chaos's condition is so weird right now and if we delay this problem, something even worse can happen." Chaos had lost it twice and both times left so much damage, he destroyed everything around him and Zuri didn't want something like that to happen.
Moreover, she didn't want to deal with him again when he was like that, the memory of when she stabbed him was still fresh in her mind.
"Let me see her," Zuri said firmly, as she approached the door behind the young woman, but she grabbed her hand and pulled her away.
Zuri was familiar with this kind of situation, she then twisted her hand and managed to free herself from her grip, but when she was about to approach the door again, she couldn't step forward, as if there was an invisible wall in front of her.
"What is this?" Zuri was stunned, she tried to approach the door again, but she was blocked by this invisible wall.
She was sure that this was a protection barrier, but who had done this?
Zuri shifted her attention toward the young woman, she was in disbelief to see her muttering something under her breath, it seemed like she was chanting a spell.
"What is that? How can you do that?" Zuri narrowed her eyes.
As long as she knew, if you were a shifter, there was no way you could have other supernatural powers.
