"Don't worry. I'll definitely rescue Zirou unharmed. You can stop worrying," Zhang Guodong offered reassurance. But in his heart, he had no confidence at all, uncertain if he could actually rescue Zhang Zirou. Still, Tang Lingwen was a woman, and at a time like this, a woman desperately needed a strong shoulder to lean on. Zhang Guodong's words undoubtedly gave Tang Lingwen a sliver of hope.

The atmosphere in the conference room was tense. Just then, a major walked in without knocking, freezing for a moment when he saw the situation inside. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"Major, why didn't you knock?" Liang Kai demanded, his face dark.

"My apologies, Chief of Staff! We've just acquired Okamoto Daiki's position, so I came to report immediately," the major said, saluting first and then speaking loudly.

At his words, everyone in the room was stunned. Zhang Guodong spoke first, "Where is he? Spit it out!"

"They're currently heading south on Hongwu Road. This image was captured by a surveillance camera." With that, the major handed a photograph to Zhang Guodong.

Zhang Guodong scrutinized the photo. The man in the picture was indeed Okamoto Daiki! A murderous glint appeared in his eyes.

"Kang Cheng, take a few men and go after him!" Zhang Guodong said urgently, glancing at Kang Cheng.

"Wait a minute," Lin Kuang, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly spoke up just as Kang Cheng was about to agree. At that moment, all eyes in the room fell on him.

"I'll go. Get me a car and two guns," Lin Kuang said, rising to his feet. It isn't that I don't trust Kang Cheng; I just believe I'm the strongest one here. Besides, my involvement will guarantee the highest chance of success.

Hearing this, Zhang Guodong paused for a second before nodding emphatically. "Alright, Lin Kuang. We're counting on you," he said, his gaze serious.

Lin Kuang just smiled and shook his head. "Don't mention it. This is what I'm supposed to do. Just hurry and get things ready."

"Liang Kai, arrange a car for Lin Kuang. Kang Cheng, take him to the armory for weapons," Zhang Guodong ordered swiftly.

Liang Kai and Kang Cheng acknowledged the command and left quickly, with Lin Kuang following Kang Cheng. Once they reached the armory, Lin Kuang selected two domestic Type 92 pistols and two extra magazines, choosing to travel light.

When they left the armory, Liang Kai was already waiting with a black Audi that looked like any other ordinary car.

"Instructor Lin, the car is equipped with communication gear. Our people will provide real-time updates on Okamoto Daiki's position. Please be careful," Liang Kai said earnestly.

Lin Kuang nodded, got in the car, and drove off.

After leaving the military region, Lin Kuang turned on the car's GPS and sped onto Hongwu Road. He drove with incredible speed, enacting a real-life version of *The Fast and the Furious*. Other drivers cursed at him, but Lin Kuang couldn't be bothered to care. Rescuing her is all that matters right now. With that thought, he kept accelerating, pushing the car faster and faster until the speedometer's needle pointed to two hundred. Even then, he had no intention of letting up on the gas. The Audi tore down the highway at a terrifying speed, yet Lin Kuang's superb driving skills were on full display as he navigated the road without a single accident.

A full half hour later, the onboard communicator in the Audi finally crackled to life. "Instructor Lin, continue straight ahead. Turn left in one kilometer."

Hearing this, Lin Kuang glanced at the GPS but didn't decrease his speed of over two hundred kilometers per hour in the slightest. As he reached the one-kilometer mark, he slammed on the brakes while stomping on the accelerator. Like a ghost in broad daylight, the black Audi carved a beautiful arc on the road, drifting perfectly into the turn. Lin Kuang was pushing the car to its absolute limit.

"Instructor Lin, turn right one kilometer ahead, then continue straight," the voice came through the communicator again.

Lin Kuang glanced at the GPS again, his expression calm as he sped through the next intersection.

Following the directions from the Nanjing Military Region's dispatcher, Lin Kuang weaved left and right for nearly an hour before he finally spotted the black Land Rover up ahead. Zhang Zirou was inside. Seeing the target vehicle, Lin Kuang felt a sense of relief. Now, the rest is up to me. With that thought, he abruptly slowed down, resuming a normal driving speed.

In the Land Rover ahead, Okamoto Daiki sat in the back seat. Beside him was Zhang Zirou, her hands and feet bound. Her mouth was sealed with tape, leaving only her large, terrified eyes visible.

Okamoto Daiki sat quietly, but his expression was grim. I can't believe my identity has been exposed. The thought of it is incredibly irritating. Now that Zhang Guodong knows I'm behind this, my only option is to see the mission through to completion, then return to the Island Country and go into hiding. Someone else will eventually come to take over matters here in Nanjing. I am extremely reluctant to leave Nanjing. Here, I'm my own master and enjoy complete freedom. If I return to the Island Country, I will lose all of that, a life I have no desire to experience again. But there's no other choice. It's my own fault my identity was compromised; no one else is to blame.

Of course, what Okamoto Daiki didn't know was that not only had his cover been blown, but he was also being followed.

Lin Kuang's tracking abilities were extraordinarily powerful. After all, the title "Wolf King" wasn't just for his prowess in jungle warfare; it was earned from an overall ranking of comprehensive skills. During his usual missions, he had honed his tracking and counter-tracking skills to perfection. Just like now, he would sometimes appear behind the Land Rover, then veer off onto another street, but he never once let the target out of his sight.

Lin Kuang continued to tail the Land Rover for another full hour before it finally entered a suburban area. He didn't know the exact location. It was surrounded by trees, the roads were uneven, and there were some abandoned factories scattered about.

By now, the sky had grown dark. I can't keep following in the car, or they'll definitely spot me. With this in mind, Lin Kuang pulled his car over into a grove of trees and got out. Glancing at the bright headlights ahead, he broke into a sprint, weaving through the woods as he kept pace with the Land Rover.

Due to the terrain, the vehicle wasn't moving very fast. With Lin Kuang's physical prowess, keeping up was easy and not at all strenuous. The vehicle drove for about twenty more minutes before finally stopping. To its left was an abandoned oil factory with a dim light glowing inside.
