Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 276: DISTRACTION
Elric reached for his gun and
aimed at the person who walked in, but then Payton growled at him.
"Put the gun down. It’s me!"
He said, annoyed. "Can someone put out the smoke? This smoke annoyed the hell
out of me! I just punched my twin, thinking he was the enemy!" Payton
complained as he waved his hand in front of his face to get rid of the smoke.
"Are you sure that was an
accident when you punched your brother?" Elric narrowed his eyes. He lowered
the gun, but he was still at the ready.
Payton complained some more
about how Paxton looked like one of the men who barged into the house as the
fight started when they were twins.
Hazel had no patience to
listen to Payton’s complaint. She snatched Elric’s gun and shoved Payton aside
because he blocked her way.
"NO! Hazel!" Elric couldn’t
believe she managed to snatch the gun out of his hand. "Go get her!"
"Why?" Payton rubbed his left
shoulder. He hit the wall when Hazel pushed him away. "She is great with guns.
I saw it myself. She can help."
Elric glared at Payton; he
didn’t waste his time arguing with him as he went inside.

"Hi, baby girl!" Laurel
squeezed Ashlyn’s body tightly, kissing her cheeks, while the little one
giggled happily. "Miss me? Of course, you miss me." She kissed her some more.
"Have you eaten?"
"Not yet, she has been playing
all day with Peni. I just bathed her." Renna brought a small bowl of food for
Ashlyn.
"Give it to me," Laurel said,
and Renna handed over the bowls. "I need to go out for a while to run some
errands. Can you look after her for a while?"
"Of course, don’t worry. You
can leave." Laurel waved her hand. She was so eager to spend her time with her
niece.
"Please, make sure she eats
her broccoli," Renna said. "She doesn’t really like vegetables."
"Okay."
Renna then left. But when
Ashlyn saw the broccoli in her bowl, she covered her mouth. "No. No boccoli."
She shook her head and moved away from Laurel.
However, Laurel caught her
pants and pulled her back.
"No, you need to eat
vegetables so you will grow up."
"No," Ashlyn said, more
clearly now. She tried to crawl away, but Laurel still held her by her pants.
"No, Ash hates boccoli."
"Ugh." Laurel was torn. "Fine,
I will eat the broccoli, but you will finish all the food, okay?"
Ashlyn stopped crawling away
from her. She looked at Laurel curiously with her doe eyes and waited for her
aunt to eat the vegetable she didn’t like.
Finally, Laurel ate all the
broccoli. "Don’t tell your mother or Renna, okay?"
Ashlyn giggled and then
crawled back to kiss Laurel on the cheek. "Love you, Aunty..."
Ah... Laurel felt she could eat
broccoli for the rest of her life. "Love you too, little muffin."

The screen smoke had faded a
little bit; it was not as thick as before, which allowed them to see their
surroundings more clearly.
The enemy had also switched
their view from the infrared light.
The number of men infiltrating the building was
relatively low, but their unexpected use of this method caught them off guard.
Hazel moved forward, trying to
spot Ranon, but instead, she saw a man sneak behind Desgar. He aimed his gun at Desgar, who was unaware of
the threat as he tied up one of the intruders for later interrogation with
Paxton.
One of the twins had an ugly
bruise on his left eye; probably that was what Payton had done.
Hazel didn’t think twice; she
raised her gun and shot the other man on his right shoulder, causing him to
drop the gun and get Desgar and Paxton’s attention.
"Where is Ranon?" Hazel asked,
and she took the gun that the man had dropped, while Paxton approached her to
tie the man up.
"The third floor. There is
this tattoo guy, who smokes out the buildings."
Hazel immediately left; she
didn’t listen to Paxton, who told her not to approach them. "That man is
dangerous; he killed four of our men!"
Hearing that, Hazel hastened
her steps. She didn’t even realize how she prayed for Ranon to be alright. Her
heart was hammering in her chest painfully. She wanted to move faster than
this.
On top of the stairs, Hazel
heard the fighting sound on her left. There were a few dead bodies on the floor;
some of the men she recognized, but some she didn’t.
However, she didn’t have time
to think about it. She rushed into the room where the fighting sound was coming
from and saw that Ranon was fighting a man in a black outfit. Indeed, the man
had a striking red rose tattoo on his neck.
Hazel didn’t know who this man
was, but...
He was indeed an outstanding
fighter!
The first thing that Hazel
realized was the weird angle of Ranon’s left shoulder. The tattoo man must have
dislocated his shoulder during the fight, but Ranon’s opponent was not in good
condition either.
The tattoo man had the left
side of his head bleeding, and upon closer look, Hazel noticed he had lost his
left ear.
"It has been a while since we
had a match, Ranon. I thought you had forgotten how to fight, since you have
been sitting behind your pretty desk all the time."
Ranon said nothing because his
eyes caught Hazel’s figure behind his opponent. He looked furious with her, as
if he wanted to fight her instead.
Hazel would deal with Ranon
later. She aimed her gun at the tattoo man, but all of a sudden, he turned
around and threw a knife at her.
This movement caught Hazel off
guard, but thankfully, her reflexes were good enough to deflect the knife, as
it only grazed her arm.
Meanwhile, Ranon had pinned
the tattoo man to the ground, ignoring the pain from his dislocated shoulder,
and he punched the side of the man’s face, the spot where he had missed his ear.
He roared in pain as Ranon
continued to punch him. He
managed to shove Ranon aside and snatch a gun that had probably fallen during
the fight.
Yet, before he could take it,
Hazel had shot his hand, but all of a sudden, someone grabbed her hair when she
was about to aim at the tattoo man’s head.
The second man who grabbed
Hazel’s hair shoved her head against the table, but she kicked it away before
her forehead could hit it, twisted her body, tripped the man, and shot him
between his eyes.
However, when Hazel looked
over at Ranon and his opponent, she watched as the tattoo man ran through the
window and then jumped from the third floor, and this shocked her.
"What the fuck?" Hazel
immediately went to the window to see if the man had died from falling, but
Ranon quickly grabbed her arm.
"Stay away from the window!
There are snipers!" He said angrily. His eyes were ablaze with rage. "What do
you think you are doing?! I told Elric to get you out of here!"
"I am worried about you!"
Hazel shouted back; she didn’t appreciate being shouted at.
The adrenaline was still very
high, and both of them tensed up from worrying about each other, but finally it
was Ranon who stepped down first.
He said nothing, but he hugged
her with his uninjured arm.
"Don’t do that
again," Ranon said. Gayle Lennox was excellent with knives. Ranon had seen
him take someone’s life with a single throw of his knife a few times.
Therefore, for a split second
there, Ranon thought Gayle had gotten Hazel...
"No, I’ll do it
again," Hazel said stubbornly. She wouldn’t make a promise she didn’t
intend to keep, but Ranon didn’t appreciate that. "You know I can hold my
ground."
"That’s not the point, Hazel!"
Ranon was furious now, and when he raised his voice, he made Hazel startle.
Ranon was rarely angry with
her; even when he was, he had never raised his voice. He looked as if he wanted
to strangle her.
"Come, I will fix your
shoulder," Hazel said to diffuse the situation.
Ranon glared at her for a
moment before he lowered his body and sat down so it would make it easier for
Hazel to do it.
Hazel moved to his side and 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
felt it. He indeed had a dislocated shoulder. "This is going to hurt," she said
in warning. "Do you want to count to three?"
Ranon didn’t say anything. He
was still upset with her, so Hazel took the initiative to count.
"One, two, three." Hazel used
all of her strength to fix it. This treatment was only temporary; they still
needed to go to the hospital. "Your pain tolerance must be very high."
Hazel didn’t say that in a
condescending tone, but she was impressed. Even some of River’s men who looked
tough would make at least a grunt when she did this.
But Ranon acted like nothing
happened.
"How is it downstairs?" Ranon
stood up and grabbed Hazel’s hand. Neither of them noticed the cut on her arm.
"They took care of them. I
think it is fine now." Hazel tried to hear the sound from downstairs, but the
commotion had ceased. "I heard Arthur was shot."
"He is there with his daughter
and the child." Ranon nodded to the room on his left. He stopped walking and
then looked at Hazel. "Did you put someone to be in the room with Arlo?"
