Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 265: THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING
"They are aggressive with their attack," Hazel said as she fed Ashlyn. They were having dinner while talking about the recent event.
Ranon finished his food and then took over Ashlyn so that Hazel could eat.
"Hmm. They’re not only targeting the boxing club, but they’re also actively attacking the business side," Ranon said. He then explained to Hazel how the stock price had declined following the recent attack on him. If this situation continued, it could become a serious issue.
"Have you found out the person who has been in contact with Axel Duncan in the Leighton family’s house?" They had previously discussed this issue and formed some assumptions, but it would be premature to reach a conclusion so early.
"Not yet. But I am going to visit tomorrow."
"I am going with you," Hazel said.
"You will?" Ranon raised his brows. "I thought you didn’t want to step inside unless it is necessary."
"Well, this time it is necessary," Hazel said. She wiped the sauce from Ashlyn’s lips as Ranon tried to coax her to eat more. "I think it’s a great idea to bring Ashlyn too, so that she can meet with her uncle."
"No way," Ranon said. He frowned in disagreement. His protective instinct kicked in, but Hazel is the rational one here.
"He will not do anything. Moreover, we only made an assumption; it is not a fact. It will be more natural if we visit him as a family." Hazel smiled at Ranon.
"No. I am not going to bring the two of you."

"Hi, Alfred. How are you?" Hazel greeted the head servant in the Leighton family’s house. He was delighted to see Hazel, especially Ashlyn.
"I am fine, Mrs. Leighton. It has been a while. She gets chubbier," Alfred said as he carried Ashlyn to the living room, walking next to Hazel.
"She is a foodie," Hazel replied.
"Yes, I wonder where she gets that from," Alfred teased.
Ashlyn stared at him and then smiled, showing her four bunny teeth. She was dressed in the same color as Hazel.
Recently, Hazel had become obsessed with the idea of having matching dresses with her daughter. She considered dressing Ranon the same way, but then she changed her mind.
"Ranon, Hazel." Daniel wheeled his wheelchair toward them, and his smile grew brighter when he saw Ashlyn. "Hi, little one." He stretched out his arms and took Ashlyn from Alfred.
Hazel noticed how Ranon breathed deeply.
Theoretically speaking, Hazel was right. If Daniel were indeed pretending, he wouldn’t drop the act at this moment.
Then they had lunch together. Hazel kept looking around because usually Ema would appear out of thin air whenever Ranon was nearby. But this time, that woman didn’t show herself.
"Ema is at her sister’s house. She visits her often nowadays. I think it’s her way to cope with the situation."
Daniel explained to Hazel later on. He was quite observant to notice that. Hazel smiled at him.
"I feel a little off because she usually breathes down my neck..."
Hearing her answer, Daniel laughed because he knew exactly what Hazel meant by that. He reassured her not to worry. He didn’t mention anything about Ranon’s arrival, knowing that would be the reason for her not to go to her sister’s house.
"You are the best brother-in-law."
"Well, it’s hardly a competition, since you only have me and Eilon as your brothers-in-law."
Hazel found it easy to talk to Daniel. He was calm and collected. He looked kind and genuine; therefore, it was hard to think he had a hidden agenda.
But then, given the life she lived, she understood that this type of person was someone you have to put your guard up the most with.
They could be insanely charming.
Later, when Eilon came from school, he looked so happy to see Ashlyn. He showed her all of his drawings, and they doodled together.
Ranon took his family to leave when they had had their dinner, and Ashlyn had fallen asleep. She curled her small body against her father’s chest.
"I will try to visit often," Ranon said to Daniel as he accompanied them to the front door. "The people that I talked about will be here tomorrow morning."
"You don’t need to do that; there are already a few guards here."
"I insist." Ranon used the current situation as an excuse to put his men around the house. It would help them to watch Daniel’s or anyone’s movement in this house.
No one would be suspicious of Ranon’s decision.
"Fine," Daniel said. He was smiling and didn’t seem to feel worried about it. "You too. Be careful, and stop offending bad people."
Ranon furrowed his brows. "Then they need to stop being a problem."
Hearing that, Daniel laughed. He waved at Hazel as the two of them entered the car.
"Did you get it?" Hazel asked once they were in the car.
Liam and Lane, the twins, had just recently become Ranon’s personal chauffeur and bodyguard, since he gave Rick to Hazel to work together with Elric.
"Yeah, I got it when he was playing with Ashlyn."
Hazel giggled. She nudged Ashlyn’s chubby cheek; her lips were slightly ajar as she pressed her face against Ranon’s chest. "I told you. She is helpful."
Ranon gave his wife a look; she was less stern than he was in this matter.

"What is your plan?" Olivia asked Lyle. She came into his apartment, and that was the first thing she said. "Are you still trying to kill Hazel and her husband?"
Olivia was pissed when she saw the news. She didn’t know that her family was going to use a bomb in their attack; that was not their style. Even more when she learned they aggressively attacked the Leighton company and some places related to him in the past few weeks.
But even Olivia thought that was cowardly.
"I don’t know. I am out of this mission. Kyle didn’t want me to get involved in this matter anymore," Lyle said. He sat down on the sofa, looking very bitter.
"What’s going on?" Olivia sat down next to Lyle.
"Even if I tell you, you will not understand." Lyle slouched on the sofa. He sighed deeply. "Tell your friend that this is only the beginning."
"What do you mean by that?" Olivia was on alert.
"Kyle kicked me out before I could learn more about his actual plan. He is handling this mission by himself, but I know he has been preparing the final blow. This is only a distraction."
"What else do you know?" Olivia leaned over. She was nervous to hear more, but Lyle didn’t know much aside from that.
"Tell her and her husband to be careful. This mission is out of my hands now," Lyle said in the end. He didn’t like the fact that they joined hands with the Denvers.
When the Lozens put the Denvers out of business, the McKennas also helped in the process. It was not always a good thing to keep your old enemy too close.

"Hmm, understood," Hazel said before she hung up the call from Olivia and then climbed on the bed to join her husband and her daughter.
Ashlyn’s bedroom was almost finished, and she was going to start sleeping alone. The plan was to give her the room as a birthday gift for her first birthday. That day was two days away.
They wouldn’t celebrate it in a huge party. Instead, they would have a family dinner in the Rose family’s house. Ashlyn was too small to remember this anyway.
After all, the situation was not conducive to exposing her even more.
"There is not much Olivia can get from Lyle," Hazel said as she snuggled into Ranon’s arms. She was lying down next to him. She had stacked pillows next to Ashlyn so that she wouldn’t fall off the bed. "But she said this was only the beginning, and they had a bigger plan."
Ranon listened to her. He wrapped her in his arms and kissed her forehead.
"What else do you think they are going to do?" Hazel wondered. She was not familiar with this move, nor was Arthur.
Rye had regained consciousness, but he was still hospitalized. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"I think the only way forward is to take the Denver out." Based on what Olivia said, some of the McKennas also disagree with this decision. We can use this to our advantage."
Ranon listened to her suggestions and ideas while playing with her hair.
"Are you listening?" Hazel frowned when Ranon didn’t give her any reaction.
"I am." Ranon stared into her eyes. "But I want to talk about something else."
"What do you want to talk about?"
Ranon was silent for a moment before he spoke again. "There are several things in this world that can’t be explained by logic." Ranon traced her jaw. "Are you one of them?"
Hazel took his hand and kissed his knuckles. "Yes."
"Okay." Ranon hugged her a little bit tighter.
They didn’t talk anymore as they hugged each other silently, but the comfort they felt in each other’s presence was more than any reassuring words they could offer.
Soon enough, they fell asleep.
But close to morning, Hazel felt her chest was so heavy, as if there was a brick that weighed her down. But when she opened her eyes, it was not a brick; it was her daughter.
Somehow, during the night, the little one managed to go over to her side, bypassing her father, and clutched to her, and now Ashlyn was blissfully sleeping with her bum on Hazel’s face.
