Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 330: Shy
As soon as she got off the car, Seraphina Sinclair felt the cold wind blowing against her. She tightly wrapped herself with her leather jacket and exhaled softly, "Where’s the address? Let’s get going quickly."
"Come here." Desmond Fairchild reached out his hand and pulled Seraphina into his embrace.
The warm coat draped over Seraphina, instantly making her feel much warmer.
"I’m not actually that cold, you don’t have to do this." Seraphina felt a bit embarrassed and reached out her small hand, intending to push Desmond away.
However, Desmond’s large palm firmly locked onto her shoulder. His authoritative voice came from above her head, "Don’t move around if you don’t want to catch a cold."
This statement made Seraphina quiet down instantly. After all, they had already done more intimate things, why care about this?
Just released from the hospital after a miscarriage, the doctor had specifically instructed her not to catch a cold recently. For the sake of her own health, Seraphina could only allow Desmond to hold her in his arms.
The two walked closely together, step by step forward. Although their speed couldn’t be considered fast, they were still progressing steadily.
Quentin Jennings opened the way ahead. After walking for a long time, he breathed a sigh of relief, "Finally, after a long walk, we’re here. It’s just ahead."
"This is a village. How will we know which household is theirs?" Seraphina looked around; the village surprisingly housed over a hundred families, larger than she expected.
"The information we received earlier included pictures of the house. Most of the villagers know each other; just find someone to ask, and we’ll find out." Quentin knew Seraphina might not be familiar with this place. Even during her toughest times, she probably hadn’t stayed in a village before.
The mountain road earlier was rugged, and Desmond and Seraphina had already separated by then. Now that they’ve entered the village, the path has become much smoother.
Seraphina tightened her coat and softly said to Desmond, "How about you wear it? The temperature in the mountains is low; don’t catch a cold."
"Compared to me, your health is worse. Don’t take it off." Desmond pressed down on Seraphina’s hand, stopping her from removing her coat. His deep eyes flickered slightly, revealing his contemplations.
"But..." Looking at Desmond’s thin shirt, Seraphina showed two parts of concern.
Earlier, Desmond had been hospitalized due to exhaustion, and it’s uncertain if his body has recovered. If he catches a cold again, it would be quite dangerous.
"Why don’t we do as before? Neither of us will get cold that way." Seraphina contemplated deeply before making this decision.
Desmond gazed at her intently as if trying to see through her, finally retracting his gaze with a knowing smile and saying, "If you don’t mind being talked about by others, I have no objection." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Suddenly, Seraphina realized they were in the village now, unlike the unfrequented road earlier. This village had more than a hundred households; how embarrassed she would feel if someone saw them.
She pondered and shook her head, "Then forget it, I’ll just let you be cold for now."
Desmond remained indifferent, as he didn’t intend to argue over the coat with Seraphina anyway. Wearing it in September was solely for her sake; otherwise, during such climate needing air conditioning, he wouldn’t wear this much.
Quentin walked alone at the front, ignoring the affectionate scene behind him.
Although these two claimed they hadn’t reconciled, their relationship seemed quite intimate. Feeling helpless, Quentin said, "I’ll head up and inquire, you guys take your time coming over."
Desmond’s dark eyes deepened slightly; this guy had a bit of tact.
Pomelo’s parents were well-known in the village, one of the few young couples working in the big city. Just a little inquiry led to their specific location.
The trio twisted and turned through alleys until they finally arrived at their doorstep.
From the outside, it looked like a small house, the two large doors shabby, and various year-pasting pictures telling of its long history. The rusted, mottled lock gave an unmistakable sense of time.
Seraphina could hardly imagine that buildings like this still existed today.
Many villagers already built small western-style homes; even the worst ones were brick houses with red tiles. Such old wooden huts were rare.
Quentin went to knock on the door, waiting for a long time without any response.
Just as they thought no one was home, a hoarse voice came from inside, "Who is it?"
"Hello, is this Wyatt Young’s residence?" Quentin politely questioned through the door.
The wooden door slowly opened from inside, making creaking noises. A face full of wrinkles appeared before them, with gray-white hair messily pinned up, and eyes that lost their original spark.
"What do you want with Wyatt Young?" The old woman spoke with somewhat broken Mandarin.
"We have some matters to discuss with him. Is he home?" Quentin displayed unprecedented politeness.
Usually seen as a playboy, it was surprising that he appeared cultured in front of the elderly.
Quentin smirked, showing what he thought was a kindly smile, "It’s not a big deal. It’s regarding his daughter in Bayside City, so if he’s home, we hope to talk with him."
"He’s not here, you should leave." The elderly woman was highly guarded, unwilling to open the door to let them in, and even urged them to leave.
Having journeyed here, they naturally couldn’t leave like this.
They needed to find Wyatt Young and get some clarity.
Seraphina lightly called Quentin, "Let me talk."
Quentin nodded, stepping back to allow Seraphina to negotiate.
Seraphina had a beautiful face, and when she smiled, she looked very amiable.
With a gentle smile, she spoke softly, revealing two parts warmth, "Ma’am, we’re not here to cause trouble. Although I don’t know your relationship with Wyatt Young, we really just want to ask him about Pomelo’s matters."
"Who is Pomelo? I don’t know." The old lady waved at Seraphina, indicating she didn’t know any Pomelo.
But Seraphina didn’t miss the flash of panic in her eyes; her expressions clearly meant otherwise.
Desmond quietly glanced at Quentin and whispered, "Have them check immediately on Wyatt Young’s recent happenings."
"Alright, I’ll do it now." Quentin nodded.
Seraphina wanted to say more, but the old woman closed the door, seemingly impatiently saying, "We don’t know any Pomelo, stop coming here."
What’s going on here?
The data couldn’t be wrong, and locals confirmed Wyatt Young lived here, so why did they refuse to acknowledge Pomelo?
Pomelo was their biological daughter.
Seraphina looked at Desmond, her eyes filled with confusion, "What do you think is going on here?"
