Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 477 - 347: Skeleton Battle Group, Clone’s Evolutionary Path
Furthermore, there were some even larger creatures. Their bodies were up to two meters long, and their massive, unfurled claws spanned an area of nearly five meters. Although the legs of these Giant Beasts looked relatively slender, they were still Mutated Undead Creatures, and their oppressive aura was not to be underestimated.
These creatures rested quietly in the canyon, as if waiting for prey to arrive. The area surrounding the canyon was blanketed by a dense layer of bones from Undead Creatures. Some of these bones were intact, while others were fractured and scattered across the purple ore-dotted ground—a testament to the ferocity of these Mutated Stiffened Spiders. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
To Fang Zhou, who watched from a distance, these Mutated Stiffened Spiders were nothing more than a tempting feast. He licked his menacing lips, his heart filled with greed and anticipation. Using his Skeleton Monarch Skill, Soul Link, Fang Zhou recalled the dozen or so Skeleton Teams that were scattered and hunting in the distance. The presence of his two top commanders, the Mutant Beheading Giant Sword Skeleton Warrior Tidamia and the Mutated Skeleton Divine Archer Verus, especially bolstered his confidence.
Fang Zhou remained hidden for a while, observing the more than twenty Mutated Stiffened Spiders ahead. These spiders were different from the Mutated Zombie Wolf Pack that had gone out to hunt earlier. They barely budged, lingering motionlessly in the deep canyon for long periods. It would be difficult to gradually hunt them from the outskirts to weaken their numbers, as he had with the Mutated Zombie Wolf Pack.
Fang Zhou frowned, but his expression quickly smoothed over as a new tactic took shape in his mind. After another moment, all sixty-odd skeleton servants had gathered by his side. Looking at his powerful subordinates, a sinister smile spread across Fang Zhou’s lips.
If I can’t win by strategy, then a direct assault it is.
BOOM!
As Fang Zhou activated the Berserker Heroic Spirit Mark deep within his soul, a terrifying force erupted, transforming a skeleton holding a Giant Axe into the Berserker Heroic Spirit Olaf.
CRACK! CRACK!
Olaf’s appearance caused the morale of the entire Skeleton Legion to skyrocket, and a potent battle lust filled the air. Under Olaf’s command, he and Tidamia spearheaded the charge. A phalanx of several dozen Close Combat Skeleton Warriors formed up, lifting their bony legs as they advanced toward the swarm of Mutated Stiffened Spiders in the canyon. Behind them, more than a dozen skeleton archers led by Verus followed closely behind the army’s advance. They were ready to nock their arrows and unleash a merciless Arrow Rain upon these unknown foes as soon as they were in range.
Under Olaf’s command, the phalanx of more than sixty skeleton servants rapidly advanced on the Mutated Stiffened Spider swarm. At Verus’s command, the skeleton archers launched the first volley of Arrow Rain.
The sound of swishing arrows echoed in the silent canyon as they poured down like a torrential storm. The four slightly smaller Mutated Stiffened Spiders on the canyon’s outermost edge crackled under the sudden, dense barrage. Their slender legs snapped first, followed by their massive pincers. In the blink of an eye, the limbs of these four Mutant Beasts were shot clean off, leaving only their conical bodies. A loud, metallic scraping sound rang out as they were pierced through.
However, the bodies of these Mutated Undead Creatures were exceptionally solid. Aside from the four on the outer edge who became the first casualties, the other Mutated Stiffened Spiders did not suffer any substantial damage from the first volley of the Arrow Rain.
Within the canyon, the Mutated Stiffened Spiders began to riot. One after another, they emerged from beneath the dark rocks and surged toward them in a great tide. There were more than twenty of them in total. Although most of them were the "smaller" variant—with bodies half a meter long and four pairs of legs extending over a meter—their collective presence was formidable when gathered.
Seeing this, the skeleton archer phalanx unleashed another volley of Skeleton Arrow Rain. A continuous stream of swishing arrows streaked across the sky like meteors, aimed at the swarm of Mutated Stiffened Spiders.
Meanwhile, Olaf’s aura grew even more brutal. With a swing of his Giant Axe, he and Tidamia led the Close Combat Skeleton Warriors straight into the spider swarm. They charged like war chariots, ramming through the swarm and sending the Mutated Stiffened Spiders flying. Under the enormous impact force, many of the smaller Mutated Stiffened Spiders were sent airborne, their legs snapping as they slammed against the canyon walls with sickening thuds.
For a moment, the canyon shook, the mist churned violently, and the air filled with the roars and clashes of battle. The fight between the Skeleton Army and the Mutated Stiffened Spider swarm reached a fever pitch, with both sides displaying astonishing combat power.
However, these Mutated Stiffened Spiders were not easy adversaries. The pincers of these Mutated Undead Creatures were exceptionally sharp, imbued with an eerie black-blue energy that gave off a piercing aura. Covered in this power, the pincers were sharp enough to easily tear through the bony bodies of ordinary Skeleton Warriors. This was especially true for the two strongest among them; as Tidamia charged past, their gigantic pincers clamped shut with a sonic boom, ripping through the heavy bone armor on his body and leaving four massive wounds.
Furthermore, these Mutated Stiffened Spiders were highly agile. Even when their massive bodies were sent flying, they could use their eight legs to paddle through the mist, quickly righting themselves before they hit the ground to rejoin the battle.
