Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 362 - 283: High Tier Tyrant Demon, Generous Kill Rewards!
Tongues of flame leaped from the dense forest, licking every inch of land like a demon’s tongue. A crackling roar filled the air as they burned, turning everything in their path to ashes. Panic-stricken Beasts fled in all directions, trying to escape this Land of Death. Their figures flickered in the firelight, adding more instability to the already tense atmosphere. In the sky, the once-warm sunlight was obscured by rolling columns of thick smoke, shrouding the entire world in a darkness that heralded the arrival of doomsday.
The surviving Shelter guards took a deep breath, firmly gripping their weapons. The Demon Army was about to arrive.
A cacophony of ear-piercing screams sliced through the silence of the forest as the first wave of invaders swarmed out from the dark depths of the woods. This was an evil legion of Little Inferior Demons, wielding sharp steel forks. They moved swiftly, like countless agile cockroaches, darting and leaping among the branches and vines. Their steel forks glinted coldly in the sunlight, each swing accompanied by a malicious whistle, as if intent on piercing any creature blocking their path.
Behind them, a group of towering, burly Horned Demons covered in fiery red scale armor slowly strode onto the battlefield. Their every step landed with the weight of a moving mountain, bringing with it a heavy sense of oppression. The size of these Horned Demons dwarfed that of an ordinary human, their muscles bulging like meticulously carved sculptures, with explosive strength contained within every inch of their skin. Horned Demons didn’t need complex tactics; their two-hundred-pound frames of solid muscle and hard scale armor were enough to make them the most terrifying killing machines on the battlefield.
As a wave of scorching heat swept through, the Fiery Demons entered the scene with an elegant yet dangerous demeanor. These seemingly slender creatures had complex black-and-red Demon Patterns covering their limbs, which subtly writhed with their every breath, releasing an unsettling energy. Fireballs danced lightly on their fingertips. They would spiral and swirl one moment, then suddenly shoot out the next, creating searing trajectories that instantly ignited the surrounding undergrowth and turned it into a sea of fire.
A group of Flame Demon Children followed closely around the Fiery Demons. These young creatures, though still immature in strength, had inherited the Talent to manipulate flames. Unlike the wild abandon of the Fiery Demons, the flames of the Flame Demon Children were more restrained and precise. They could condense the power of fire to form slender flaming arrows, which they shot at their enemies with astonishing speed.
Among this demonic horde, the most eye-catching were the dozen or so enormous Dog Demons. They were as sturdy as calves, with knotted muscles and an overpowering, wild aura. These ferocious Magic Beasts lowered their heads. The saliva dripping from their mouths was highly corrosive; upon contact with the ground, it sizzled into puffs of gray smoke that emitted a suffocating stench.
The cacophonous cries of the demons suddenly became high-pitched and deafening as an exceptionally tall and burly figure gradually emerged. It was a fiery red High Tier Demon, like a nightmare forged from the hottest magma of the Abyss.
The demon was of an unbelievable size, clad in immensely heavy Metal Armor, every inch of which was inscribed with intricate and profound evil Runes. The armor’s texture looked like well-forged bronze, but a scorching heat radiated from beneath its cold metal surface, threatening to burn everything it touched to ash. The most striking feature was the pair of gigantic, blood-red bone wings that extended from a space intentionally left in the back of its robust armor. The wings were not only broad but also pulsed with power. When unfurled, they resembled two gallows stained with blood, every bone glimmering with an eerie sheen, as if each was formed from the wailing of countless souls. When these wings fluttered lightly, the air temperature seemed to drop instantly, as if even time itself had frozen.
The demon’s head was an unspeakable amalgam. It had the cold ruthlessness of a crocodile, with two sharp, blade-like horns pointing skyward from either side of its forehead. The venomous sneer of a slaughterer hung on its lips. A malevolent glare burned in its blood-red eyes, an evil light far beyond what any natural being could possess.
"Is this... the leader of the Demon Battle Group, the Tyrant Demon?" Lu Renjia’s voice trembled as he spoke, almost as if to himself.
The Tyrant Demon was an elite Bronze-level Unit from the Abyssal Demon battle sequence, with a Combat Power Coefficient far exceeding Black Iron-level main combat Units like the Horned Demons or Dog Demons. Even though the power of this Tyrant Demon leader was limited to the Apprentice Upper-level for this Shelter Defense Battle, its inherent strength still made it a formidable presence.
At this thought, Lu Renjia’s expression turned grim. He knew very well that the Tyrant Demon was not just the core force of the Demon Legion but also their greatest threat in this battle.
He turned to Fang Zhou and said, "Master Fang Zhou, this Abyss Difficulty Shelter Defense Battle is probably the highest level of difficulty. This Tyrant Demon is the leader of the Demon Battle Group, making it far stronger than the Horned Demons or even the Black Armored Abyss Knights we’ve faced before. With the strength we have now, trying to slay this Bronze-template Tyrant Demon will be extremely difficult."
Fang Zhou nodded slightly, his expression remaining calm.
Come what may, we’ll face it.
Having chosen the Abyss Difficulty Shelter Defense Battle, Fang Zhou naturally had no fear of failure.
By now, the demons had finished gathering outside the dense forest. The Little Inferior Demons and Horned Demons paced anxiously, eager to slaughter and drink human blood. However, the more intelligent demons, like the Flame Demon Children and Fiery Demons, appeared much more composed. They stood at the back of the formation, their deep, malevolent gazes assessing the last of the human Shelter’s resistance.
The Tyrant Demon, which had appeared last, suddenly raised its head and let out a roar. It was a unique command composed of dozens of words in the demonic tongue, filled with incredible evil and blasphemy. The sound alone made every human Warrior’s body tremble. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Upon hearing this chilling command, all the demons ceased their restless fidgeting and unleashed a series of terrifying shrieks. These sounds blended into a horrific wave of noise that rolled toward the human forces. Immediately after, the horde surged forward like a red tide rising from the ground, crashing toward the human troops with unstoppable speed, as if intending to drown everything in a blood-colored wave.
"Raise your spears! Prepare to engage!"
The voice of the middle-aged Warrior NPC, the Commander of the Civilian Corps’ Long Spear Formation, rang out on the battlefield, piercing through the demons’ roars and the Warriors’ own heartbeats. He raised his Bear-Headed Battleaxe high, its sharp blade glinting coldly in the sunlight. His eyes were fixed on the chaotic wave of the Demon Army charging toward them.
Beside him, Olaf commanded the Long Spear Skeletons with tense, orderly precision. Though fleshless, the skeletal soldiers moved with extraordinary coordination, as if driven by an invisible force. They advanced to fill the gaps between the Shelter guards, making the entire defensive line more solid—a blue-and-white wall of steel standing tall against the Demon Army.
The red tide of demons crashed down upon them with lightning speed. The Little Inferior Demons and Horned Demons shrieked deafening roars and demonic curses as they sprinted forward. They waved their steel forks in the air, their sturdy arms brimming with power, ready to unleash it all on impact.
