Chapter 237: Training XIII

The boar lunged toward Mu Chen, its tusks slicing through the air.

"Yue—now!" Ling shouted.

Yue picked up some loose rocks and threw them at the boar’s left side. The creature twisted sharply, trying to follow Mu Chen.

"Good! Keep it moving!" Ling barked.

The boar staggered slightly as its injured leg slipped on the uneven ground. Ling’s eyes narrowed.

"Han Yi, Lei Feng! Behind it—push the ground under its back leg! Make it slide down the slope!"

Han Yi froze.

"...PUSH?! I’m too small to push a mountain pig!"

"Just do it! Quick!" Lei Feng yelled.

They both scrambled behind the boar, digging their heels into the dirt and shoving with all their strength.

The boar roared and lunged forward at Mu Chen, exactly where Ling wanted it to go. Its momentum carried it over the loosened soil.

"NOW!" Ling shouted.

The slope gave way under the boar’s weight. Its back hooves slipped, and the beast tumbled down the incline, rolling into a cluster of rocks.

The group froze as dust and dirt settled. The boar groaned, trying to rise, but its injured leg and the fall kept it down.

Han Yi sank to the ground, shaking.

"...I survived... and I’m still alive... somehow..."

Mu Chen exhaled, wiping sweat from his forehead.

"...We did it. Together."

Yue lowered her arms, trembling but relieved.

"...It’s not getting up... I think it’s finally done." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Lei Feng sank to his knees, exhausted.

"...We actually beat it. All of us... working together."

Ling stepped forward, eyes scanning the boar carefully.

"It’s down. Stay alert, but this challenge is over. You survived."

Han Yi flopped onto his back dramatically.

"...Next time... can it be something... smaller? Like... a squirrel?"

Mu Chen smirked.

"As long as the squirrel isn’t as big as a house."

The group laughed weakly, the tension finally easing.

They looked ahead at the open plains, the fallen boar behind them.

The group took a moment to catch their breath, letting the dust settle around them.

Han Yi sat up, still trembling.

"...I can’t believe we made it... I really can’t..."

Mu Chen patted him on the back.

"...Believe it. We survived the impossible. That counts for something."

Yue wiped sweat and dirt from her face.

"...I never thought we’d work together like that... but we did. Somehow, we did it."

Lei Feng slowly stood, brushing himself off.

"...Every step, every move... we depended on each other. That’s why we lived."

Ling nodded, her eyes scanning the horizon.

"This is what survival teaches. Even when danger seems unbeatable, teamwork and focus make the difference. Remember this feeling—it’s your strength now."

Han Yi groaned again.

"...Strength? I think my strength left when the boar charged, but... maybe it’s coming back slowly."

Mu Chen stretched his stiff arms.

"...We survived, and that’s enough for today. Tomorrow, the path continues. We don’t know what’s ahead, but we know we can handle it—together."

Yue glanced toward the distant hills.

"...Whatever comes next... we face it as a group. No one left behind."

Lei Feng nodded, determination flickering in his eyes.

"...Together. That’s how we survive... that’s how we keep going."

Ling turned back toward the trail.

"Rest for now. Keep your energy. Tomorrow, the journey continues. One step at a time. Always together."

The group slowly started moving again, leaving the fallen boar behind.

The sun was beginning to dip lower, casting long shadows over the plains. The group walked slowly, tired but alert.

Han Yi limped slightly, rubbing his sore arms.

"...I think every part of me is broken... but at least I’m still alive."

Mu Chen glanced around, scanning the tall grass.

"...We need to keep our eyes open. The plains may look calm, but danger can hide anywhere."

Yue adjusted her pack and kept close to Ling.

"...I never want to face something like that boar again... but I feel... stronger somehow."

Lei Feng stayed quiet, walking steadily.

"...I still feel scared, but... I think I can handle more than I thought."

Ling led the way, moving with purpose.

"Today we survived a giant threat together. Tomorrow, we may face something new. Stay focused, stay close, and help each other. That is how we survive."

The group nodded, moving as one. Each step forward was careful but confident.

As night approached, the plains opened up into a small valley with a stream running through it. The sound of water was calming after the tension of the battle.

Han Yi sank to the ground near the stream.

"...Water... finally something that doesn’t want to kill me."

Mu Chen knelt and drank from the stream.

"...Simple things feel amazing after what we just went through."

Yue washed her hands, looking at the reflection in the water.

"...We survived. Together. And we’re still here."

Lei Feng smiled faintly.

"...Every trial, every danger... we survived it because we didn’t give up. We can face more."

Ling set up a small camp near the stream.

"Rest tonight. Tomorrow, the journey continues. Remember what you’ve learned: focus, teamwork, and one step at a time. That is how we overcome whatever comes next."

The group settled down, exhausted but safe for now. The plains were quiet, but they all knew the world still held challenges.

Night fell fully, and the stars began to shine above the valley. The air was cooler now, and the sound of the stream lulled them into a quiet peace.

Han Yi lay on his back, staring at the sky.

"...I can’t believe we survived today... I feel like every bone in my body is yelling at me."

Mu Chen leaned against a rock, eyes half-closed.

"...Even so... I can’t remember ever feeling this tired and proud at the same time."

Yue curled up on the grass, wrapping her arms around her knees.

"...We really are stronger than we think... together."

Lei Feng looked toward the distant hills, his face calm.

"...We’ve faced death, fear, and impossible odds... and we’re still moving forward. That counts for something."

Ling walked quietly among them, checking their gear and keeping watch.

"Rest now. Tomorrow, we leave this valley and continue our journey. We don’t know what lies ahead, but we know we can face it—together."

The group settled into uneasy but needed sleep, the events of the day weighing on their minds and bodies.

Somewhere in the darkness beyond the valley, the wind shifted, carrying distant sounds—unfamiliar and strange.
