Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1272: Who Is This Girl?
Janelle Mills came downstairs and arrived at the ballroom on the first floor. As she descended the last step, her gaze landed on the familiar figure at the door.
Hearing the footsteps, Demi turned her head, "..." Her calm eyes seemed as if she had been waiting for her all along.
Janelle pursed her lips, feeling quite apologetic, and walked towards her good friend.
"Janelle, come outside with me to enjoy the sun?" Demi invited her, "Auntie is already making breakfast."
"Okay."
Janelle followed her into the yard, seemingly having a lot to say but unsure of how to start.
She could understand Demi’s feelings right now, just like when she was once attracted by his photo and resume, only to be played by Trevor.
She was very angry at that time too.
"Demi, I wish you happiness." Janelle broke the silence in the yard, "Not just on your birthday."
"Thank you." Demi turned her gaze, softly asking, "You two aren’t together, right?" It was her intuition.
"..." Janelle was slightly stunned and stayed silent.
She didn’t want to lie.
Nor did she want to ruin the act from last night.
The two girls walked on the lawn, with Demi looking up at the clouds dyed red by the morning light. They were very beautiful.
Though she wasn’t very old, she had her own judgments; after all, kids these days mature early.
"Because you two carpooled here," Demi analyzed, "You didn’t arrive together, just happened to meet, and you even wanted to transfer him the fare."
Janelle suddenly didn’t want to act anymore, "Yes, we’re not together." Since there’s backup now, she might as well admit it.
Demi wasn’t surprised.
But Janelle also didn’t want to hide anything, "Demi, but I like him, just like you like him."
Demi was slightly startled, then smiled gently at her, "Then tell me, when did you start liking him? Last night?"
"I have known him longer than you have," Janelle met her gaze and answered honestly, "He has a girlfriend, but it’s not me."
"..." Demi’s smile slightly froze, "That’s impossible!" The information didn’t show that.
"It’s true, I’ve seen her."
Seeing her friend’s certain expression, Demi couldn’t help but feel sad, "Who is she?"
Janelle thought of the image of Jocelyn Morgan, on the day she met her, she wore a beautiful evening gown and left a particularly good impression.
"She is a girl who is worthy of him, and he particularly likes her." For a moment, Janelle also felt envious, with a light sting in her heart, "I will wish them well and not upset this balance."
And what about Demi?
Demi smiled and said to herself, "I don’t even know what I like about him, just saw a few photos, read some of his credentials, listened to Dad talk about his stories, and fell head over heels."
She continued, "Although I’m outstanding myself, I know very well that he doesn’t like me, so I shouldn’t keep pining for him."
These two good friends, even though neither of them had dated Trevor, seemed as if they had both experienced a colorful affair of love, exhausting all their energy.
Sometimes thinking about it is quite sad.
Soon, a servant came over to call them in for breakfast.
Justin Kingston, Mia Lane, Trevor, and William also came downstairs.
In the large dining room, Mrs. William was also present. In short, everyone was there, and the atmosphere felt a bit odd.
Even though William apologized to Trevor, and Justin and the others forgave him.
But this was no small matter, so the atmosphere was inevitably awkward.
At the dining chairs, Demi dared not look at Trevor.
Justin and Mia’s gaze fell on Janelle’s face, the couple both puzzled—
Who is this girl?
After all, she was in the same room with Trevor, and there was only one bed inside.
