Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1257: The Lady Begins to Grow Suspicious
Bringing up the topic of blind dates again!
This made Janelle Mills extremely embarrassed; the first time she went on a blind date, it was a disaster, and the man who caused it was right beside her.
A capital "awkward"!
Trevor raised an eyebrow and asked, "How old are you, really? Why are your parents pushing you to go on blind dates?"
"Their goal isn’t for me to get married soon; it’s about who gets to have control over the matter," Janelle was well aware and felt helpless, "My mom doesn’t want my dad to interfere, and my dad doesn’t want my mom to interfere either!"
Trevor felt a bit sorry for this girl, "How have you grown up between this tug-of-war?"
"Just playing both sides, saying what people want to hear," she candidly admitted. At this moment, she might have regarded Trevor as a friend.
She took the initiative to clink glasses with him, "Come, cheers!" Her smile was warm and charming.
Not far away, Mrs. William’s expression changed slightly, feeling a bit anxious for Demi.
What were they talking about?
Did they just take a video call together?
"What are you looking at? Aren’t you going to go in and dance, dear?" William approached, following his wife’s gaze, and saw the two by the fountain.
The wife spoke very directly, "I think Janelle and Trevor have an unusual relationship; I just heard from the butler that they came here in the same cab today."
But William didn’t take it to heart, "Maybe it’s just a coincidence; carpooling is normal, especially since it’s so far and along the way."
The wife turned her eyes, looking at him with discontent, how could he not have a sense of crisis?
"Come on now." William put his arm around her shoulder, comforting her, "If Janelle has a boyfriend, surely our Demi would know."
"That’s true..." So the wife wasn’t sure where the problem lay.
At this moment, Demi had been searching for Janelle Mills.
Wearing a gown, she only saw the two by the fountain when she reached the entrance of the banquet hall.
Just about to step out, she saw her parents and quickly greeted them with a cheerful, unguarded demeanor, "Hi Dad, hi Mom!"
"Wait a second!" Her mother grabbed her daughter’s arm, stopping her in her tracks, and asked, "What’s the deal with Trevor and Janelle?"
The girl was slightly startled, glanced at their backs, and replied with a smile, "If they aren’t fighting and can get along, that’s good enough; it’s a mutual dislike kind of relationship, I guess."
After speaking, she ran towards them!
The mother didn’t quite understand her daughter’s previous remark.
"Janelle, come join me for a piano performance! Do you know ’Castle in the Sky’?" Demi extended an invitation.
Janelle answered confidently, "Yes, I do."
This surprised Trevor; he didn’t know she could play the piano.
Just like that, Janelle was pulled into the banquet hall by Demi.
Trevor also started to move.
On the stage under the spotlight, two white pianos were placed side by side.
Surrounded by flowers, under the gaze of guests, Demi held Janelle’s hand, and they walked onto the stage side by side.
First, they bowed respectfully to everyone, then sat down on the chairs.
As Trevor walked in, the piano performance officially began. He saw the two girls on stage, their fingertips seemingly casting magic, dancing across the black and white keys.
The melodious and pleasant music ensued, sometimes lively, sometimes gently slow... their coordination was truly flawless.
Trevor’s gaze fell on Janelle Mills, and his cool, handsome face suddenly had a hint of softness.
The attentive Mrs. William looked at Trevor again, continuously observing his expressions.
"Still thinking about this?" William came over again, stood beside his wife, and also looked at Trevor.
The wife whispered in English, "Don’t you feel like Trevor has been watching Janelle all along?"
