Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1181: Pleading Is Useless
Joan Graham was crying bitterly, her heart filled with unbearable sorrow, as she held her son’s shoulders, gazing at the man she had shared a bed with for 20 years.
She really hoped that for the sake of their son, he could forgive her.
Since going to prison, he hadn’t visited her even once.
Releasing her son’s shoulders, Joan Graham moved in front of David Dalton, "David, I want to talk to you alone." Her tone was full of pleading.
Terrified that he might reject her.
Justin Kingston and Mia Lane exchanged glances, neither of them expressing an opinion.
Despite the harsh resolution in Justin’s eyes, no matter what the talk was about, she would still have to continue sitting in prison!
Justin would definitely not let her go.
Nor would Mia Lane soften, as there were too many troublesome matters best simplified altogether.
After all, Trevor’s identity had been clarified; releasing this woman wouldn’t lead to a happy family but would only complicate things further.
People with a malicious heart are unlikely to change for the better and only make trouble.
David Dalton didn’t speak; he simply furrowed his brow and then turned to leave.
Joan Graham cast a wary glance at Justin Kingston, who gave her a warning look.
But Joan, since she had come out, she didn’t want to miss this only chance; survival was an instinct.
Her gaze steadied, she wiped away the tears on her face, composed herself emotionally, and followed David Dalton outside.
Justin Kingston turned away, but Mia Lane pulled him to a stop, "Give her a bit more time, Dad surely has a lot to say to her too."
Justin stated, "I won’t spare her; making her stay in prison is the greatest mercy I can give her."
"I understand," Mia Lane told him, "I don’t wish for her to come out and stir trouble either. Reasonably and emotionally, I stand with Trevor."
At the corridor’s end, there was a small corner on the balcony, where there weren’t many people, usually quite quiet.
Some green vines climbed on the railings, and a cool breeze occasionally blew through.
David Dalton stood silently before the railing, hands behind his back.
He took a deep breath, listening as the footsteps grew closer, his brow furrowing ever tighter.
"Husband..." Joan Graham grabbed his hand and knelt directly before him, appearing sincere, as if truly repentant.
At the doorway not far away, watching, Mia Lane felt her chest slightly tighten.
Justin Kingston stared deeply at the scene, his inner emotions calm and unwavering.
He merely glanced at his watch, estimating to give her five more minutes before sending her back to prison.
"Husband... I don’t want to go back to prison anymore."
Joan Graham choked on her words, pleading with him, "The environment there is terrible, it’s dark and foul, there’s tons of work to do during the day, and the food is terrible..."
Recalling these days, she trembled, blubbering, "Husband, for the sake of me having given you a son, please help me just this once!"
She looked up at the man whose brow remained tightly furrowed, yet unmoved, crying as she continued, "Ethan is your only son; he has a chance to heal, but without his mother’s presence, his personality won’t be complete..."
"With a mother like you, his personality won’t be complete," David Dalton suddenly retorted.
Joan Graham cried, shaking her head, "Husband... I really know I was wrong."
"Joan," David Dalton looked down at her, a wave of anger rising within, "if you’re just here to tell me this, I’m telling you, you’re wasting your breath."
The woman couldn’t see a trace of former affection in his eyes; all that remained was distance and disgust.
"I thought you’d be remorseful," David Dalton was extremely disappointed in her, his face growing cold and severe, "Joan, you’ve let me down so badly!"
"..." The woman’s heart plummeted, as her last shred of hope was shattered.
