Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1132: I’m Warning You, Cecilia Dunn!
"He already hooked up with another woman at a hotel! And you still let him sleep over at your place?! Cecilia Dunn! You deserve to be cheated on! You’re asking for it!"
Jocelyn Morgan’s agitated voice came through again.
"So my kick was for nothing, wasn’t it?" She was earnest but utterly baffled, "He already made a fundamental mistake! This kind of scumbag should be hacked to death by readers in a novel!"
"What did I tell you yesterday? You said you wouldn’t forgive him, but your actions are not just forgiving; they’re enabling!"
Even through a closed door, Ian Shelby could sense her burning fury.
The phone call seemed endless.
He glanced at the breakfast he had brought over; if not eaten soon, it would go cold.
So, Ian Shelby raised his hand to knock on the door.
Soon after, Jocelyn, still on the phone, lifted the blanket, put on her shoes, and came over to open the door. Thanks to some special medication, her knee injury had improved, and she could put her right foot down.
"Cecilia Dunn, I’m telling you! If you accept Howard Sawyer today, you’ll have a miserable life after getting married!"
"What ’can’t let go of eight years of feelings’? Feelings are bullshit! He’s scum to this level, and you’re still talking feelings with him!"
Opening the hospital room door, Jocelyn turned and sat back on the bed, still angrily on the phone, so absorbed that she didn’t notice her messy hair and untidy clothes.
Just as Ian Shelby stepped into the room with breakfast, he caught Vera Ford’s eye as she exited the elevator. Her footsteps halted, staring for a few seconds.
The thought flashed through her mind: was the food he carried meant for her?
Vera pressed her lips together, stepping forward in her high heels.
Inside the hospital room.
Ian gently placed the breakfast bag on the bedside cabinet, still listening to her call—
"I’m warning you, Cecilia Dunn! Get your head straight! Stop talking nonsense! Break up with him, now!"
Ian glanced over at her, frowning lightly, her hair was incredibly messy, downright unruly—while talking on the phone, she was pulling at her hair, leaving a trail of it on the pristine bedding.
"I can’t be bothered to talk to you anymore! One last word! If you insist on staying with him, then we’re done!"
At the door, Vera paused, intentionally or unintentionally eavesdropping.
Then Jocelyn angrily hung up the call.
Ian spoke calmly, "Haven’t you heard? ’Better to break ten temples than ruin one marriage.’ You can’t even manage your own affairs, why worry about others’?"
The gentle, melodious male voice startled Jocelyn from the bed’s edge; she quickly looked up, "Ah—!" As if she’d seen a ghost.
With a shriek, she abruptly stood, "How did you get in?!"
Ian, startled by her reaction, nonchalantly reminded, "You opened the door yourself."
"..." She recalled being so engrossed in her call she hadn’t noticed!
This hair! These clothes!!
So! Awkward!
"Here’s breakfast." Ian pointed with his hand, "Eat it while it’s hot. I’ll go do rounds and check on your injury shortly."
Jocelyn noticed he wasn’t wearing a doctor’s coat; he must have just arrived, hadn’t even gone to his office, and came straight to deliver breakfast?
"Alright, thank you." She was still a bit embarrassed.
"Where’s the laptop?" Ian glanced around, not seeing it.
Jocelyn turned to retrieve a thin laptop from under the covers, a move that shocked Ian!
"It’s out of battery." She looked at him, blinking innocently.
Ian reached for the laptop without a word, turned, and left, with Vera quickly dodging outside.
Jocelyn watched his tall, elegant figure walk away, pressing her lips again, and realized she had let him in the door herself?
And allowed him to blatantly listen to her phone call with her best friend??
This was too incredible!! Unbelievable!
