Chapter 274: 274 The higher beings

[El’s POV: ]

"Lucy, what the HELL was that?!"

Friday doesn’t scream like that, and he doesn’t show that kind of expression either. He wasn’t capable of something like that... I had not taught him how to do any of that!

"Lucy we have to go... we should go right this instant! And where the hell did he even contact us from?! Where the hell are those two?!"

This wasn’t good.

He wasn’t joking or anything either!

There was definitely something going on-

"El."

He grabbed my shoulder and shook my body in an attempt to bring me back to my senses... but that wasn’t going to work!

"Why are you so calm, fuck! He said Eva is in danger! Bastard! Don’t you fucking care?!" I grabbed his shoulder as well and started shaking him the same way.

We left the two of them back there with a few important tasks and yesterday, they were supposed to visit a certain place in the outskirts of the empire to find some hidden herbs that we wanted for the enchantment process.

And it was a fucking normal place so there should NOT be anything to make him act like that!

"El! Calm the HELL down!"

"No! I won’t!"

He was shouting at me for no reason now! This fucking bastard!

"We have to go. We have to go right now! Teleportation, yes we have to use the special intercontinental teleportation scroll!

Yes, let’s-"

"Auriel! Will you please calm down?!"

He shouted at me with a very serious voice, his eyes red and, there was an endless tension hidden behind those eyes of his.

"..."

Alright.

This much was enough to stop me for a moment.

"Good. Now listen to me."

He knew better than me this was not a good situation to be all worked up and waste any unnecessary time doing meaningless things.

There was definitely something very unsettling going on, and from how Friday’s voice sounded to how the communication device that should have been permanently connected with ours after a link was established had turned off, he knew better than me this was no good sign.

"First of all, trace where the call had come from. We should decide what to do after seeing what place the two had ended up in."

The place we were standing on belonged to the first conqueror of this world who had left various kinds of artifacts, powers, and hints of his existence and the existence of their special civilization all over this world.

We can access the footage of the areas these relics were in through this place and the special system interface so he knew staying here would be much more helpful than moving hastily.

This bastard... why was he so good at staying cool in jacked-up situations like these?

"Alright..."

I knew why he was doing what he was doing and how he was actually feeling about all of this. So, I couldn’t even refuse him in this situation.

Eva was much more important to him than my own first summons Friday was to me.

He was a being directly connected to me so even if he died in whatever shit was happening with them, reviving him would be much easier than reviving Eva after the ’golden time’ had passed.

If the situation was serious enough to make even a semi-divine being like Friday scream and call us for help like that, there was certainly a chance their lives were in danger right now.

And, if she really dies of whatever cause... he’s gonna get mad. Like, real, scary mad...

’Even I fear that side of him sometimes.’

It was a long, long time ago that he was angry enough to be in that ’really’ angry state, but I know for a fact that if Eva, someone who had taken care of us since we were infants, someone who was practically like a mother to both of us dies... this entire world and the whole of our plans about the future will be in grave danger.

I cannot let that happen though, since that would mean shit will go all the wrong ways.

"Cary! Gimme {Law Negation}!"

[{ What? Why do you need that for something as simple as this, stupid master? }]

"Bastard! Just do as I said!"

I tried tracking the coordinations with the simple method but there were system restrictions completely blocking me from accessing those coordinates.

It was strange, but I did not have time to crack down the entire system interface for some coordinates like this.

There was no time so if I had a chet skill that can directly bypass the strongest firewalls in existence, there was no fucking way I was gonna type some long-ass codes at a time like this!

[{ Stupid master... stop shouting alright. Here. }]

His {Law negation} skill momentarily lessened or erased the system restrictions and it was a completely broken skill.

And, the fact that as his master I can use this skill of his as well, was one of the few good things that made this useless piece of shit worthy enough to keep around.

"Why the hell was that place so strongly restricted anyway? Where the hell are those two-... oh shit."

Thanks to his skill, it did not take long for me to track the coordinates of their call. But, I was left speechless the moment I saw the numbers that came up as a result.

[{ Where are so shocked, stupid master? Where-... oh, ok. }]

"El..."

Even Lucy and my dumb bastard Cary knew the location of these geospatial coordinates. There was no way any individual who knew about this world, the realms, and the Worldline wouldn’t know this place. This was one of the major realms where some of the most shitty things happens on the daily bases, so, fuck this shit.

[{ One could only think of a sudden dungeon break that would have led them to that place, however, one is certain if they are left there for any longer than a few hours... the [Miasma of Void] will change them forever. }]

"Shit..."

[#03°12.4454’ Z, #03°13.5930’ Y, #03°15.4412’ X.]

The #03 in this means [Hades]. Not that shit god Hades but the realm called Hades that borders [Gehenna], [Abyss], and [3rd Root] at the same time.

It’s one of the most fucked up realms out of all the Twelve Major realms of the Worldline and, I have never really liked that shit place.

’A special kind of energy from [Abyss], the Miasma filled these realms along with the deep life force from one of the major roots of the [World tree], that resulted in an eternal conflict of different energies, which ultimately blocked everyone from using the atmospheric Mana.’

It wasn’t like that place did not have Mana or anything but the way the Miasma and the purest kind of Mana from the third root created a conflicting eternal atmosphere, it was impossible for anything to use what was present in the atmosphere.

At least, they could not use any of it unless they were as good as me.

And, since Geghenna’s sole river, the [River of Soulfire] flowed right across this realm, this small but the most fucked up place was something I never wanted to visit in this life possible.

It was difficult to get back from that shit place anyway, so... this was bad.

It was the actual worst-case scenario. And one that we couldn’t even have thought about...

"El, can you please find out how the dungeon break occurred?"

"Hmmm? What do you... wait. Could it be...?!"

He knew better than me just how fucked up this situation was. Just how great the chances of their deaths were and how there was a good chance they were dead already... oh, wait, no.

They weren’t dead yet. The link to our oath with Eva was still in place so she was definitely, at the very least, alive in that place.

’Anyway, all that aside, Lucy suspected there was outside interference that caused the dungeon break that led to this whole mess.’

It was a very plausible scenario since there is no way a sudden dungeon break would occur and lead some specific people who could have reacted to any simple kind of dungeon break to one of the most fucked up places in this entire Worldline.

This was definitely fishy... so, I checked.

It was difficult to bypass the system security interface without the proper system authority. But thanks to Cary’s skill and the cooperation with the Voice of this world who was supporting us directly, I figured it out.

"Lucy... look at this..."

What happened to the two of them, three of them actually, was not a coincidence.

"..."

[{ Hump. Those bastards... }]

[{ One has never understood why the divinities see any need to interfere with mortal worlds. It is not like those beings are in charge of the mortal realms, so why would they ever do something as lowly as this? }]

"Jealousy and insecurity, Anna... jealousy and insecurity."

His voice was heavy now.

The way he said that clearly showed how enraged he was at this moment.

He did not like this...

Just the fact that some higher beings tried to mess with us was enraging for him, but they went a step ahead and tried messing with our people to indirectly fuck us over while thinking we would never find out they were the actual perpetrator behind this whole ordeal.

"El..."

He had that look of anger in his eyes that I knew very well.

"Can you please go and bring them back?"

"Hmmm? But I..."

He wasn’t looking at me but instead up in the sky.

He knew even though we had restricted the higher beings from spectating us directly with our authority, they could still see us all thanks to the other people present on this island with us.

They just couldn’t interact with us directly. Not until this moment.

[Ding!]

[You have set the personal streaming setting to Public.]

[The higher beings can interact with you now.]

They messed up wrong this time... they managed to pull the worst nerve of my bastard that even I couldn’t with all my methods.

They had written their own death certificates with this...

[Ding!]

[Unique skill: {Multimedia streamer} has been activated by ID: Lucifer.]

This petty bastard of mine wasn’t going to leave a single one of those higher-being bastards.

They were screwed...
