Turning Antagonist to Protagonist: He is Both Soft and Fierce-Chapter 382 - 376: You Owe Me, Not the Other Way Around (Part 2)
These dishes were cooked by him.
She handed the chopsticks to Lin Ling, "No picky eating, eat two bowls."
Lin Ling nodded obediently.
Seeing them eating, Song Tingfan picked up his chopsticks and ate. For a moment, no one spoke, only the sound of Lin Ling chewing.
After the meal, Song Tingfan cleaned up the dishes and went out. He soon returned and started handling matters by the table without doing much else.
Lin Qiao wanted to ask about Xu Dagui. Xu Dagui’s injuries were too severe, but she feared the villain would "go crazy" and scare the child, so she sent Lin Ling outside, "Ling’er, go play outside, there are birds."
Lin Ling, intrigued, tilted his head and indeed saw a bird, happily running out.
"Don’t go far, just stay at the doorstep."
Lin Qiao quickly instructed and watched for a while, only relaxing when she saw he hadn’t gone far.
"Song Tingfan, I want to see Xu Dagui. His injuries are too severe. If anything happens to him, I’ll never forgive you."
Song Tingfan...
Hearing his full name, Song Tingfan pressed his pen harder, and soon a blot of ink spread on the paper, "He’ll be fine."
He did not agree to let her see Xu Dagui.
If she had no ties with Xu Dagui, Xu Dagui would have been dead long ago, let alone having a doctor treat him now.
Lin Qiao didn’t quite believe him, "I want to see with my own eyes."
Song Tingfan put down the pen and ink, turned his head, and stared at her gloomily, somewhat angry, "If you mention him again, I can’t guarantee his safety."
First Xu Dagui, then Xu Dagui again, as if her heart only had Xu Dagui.
Fortunately, Lin Qiao didn’t know what he was thinking, or she’d roll her eyes at him twice. Any normal person would worry about Xu Dagui’s injuries.
Lin Qiao choked, "..."
She ground her back teeth, thinking the villain was like a stone in a pit—smelly and hard, wouldn’t listen to anything.
She slightly annoyed said, "Don’t bully people too much. If you don’t believe me, then just kill me."
She craned her neck, daring him to strangle her.
Ever since she explained it, she wasn’t scared like before, ready for the worst, at most death.
Cough, if possible, she’d rather not die.
Song Tingfan looked at her for a long time without speaking. Just as Lin Qiao was about to back down, she was suddenly lifted off her feet. In panic, she grabbed hold, but soon she was placed on the bed.
The man looked down at her, speaking lowly, "If there’s nothing else, just go to sleep."
Lin Qiao: "..."
She sat up and glared at him, "Song Tingfan, I was serious with you. If you don’t believe me, then just strangle me. What does locking me up like this mean? I’m not your servant."
Being locked up every day, even if treated well, she couldn’t stand it.
The woman’s attitude was completely different from her previously gentle manner. Song Tingfan pressed his lips together, "I’m not locking you up. If you want to go out, just go out."
"Then I want to go out now."
Lin Qiao didn’t believe him, immediately getting off the bed to test, only to be pulled back instantly. The man said deeply, "No way."
He paused for a moment, "Wait for the Emperor’s marriage decree tomorrow, then you can go out."
A marriage granted by the Emperor was different from an ordinary marriage. The government would imprint a gold seal in the household records, forbidding remarriage.
Of course, this only applied to women.
Upon hearing this, Lin Qiao didn’t understand. She subconsciously thought he was afraid she’d mess up the marriage the Emperor granted him.
An inexplicable ache tugged at her heart, but she quickly reasoned, "Just write a divorce letter for me now. The child stays with me. I won’t cause trouble."
"If you don’t bother me, I won’t bother you. If you don’t trust me, you can have someone send us out of the Capital."
"You’re a General, I wouldn’t be foolish enough to go against you." Finished, she shook off his hand.
Song Tingfan stayed silent, after a while, "Once the marriage decree comes down, you can leave."
Finished speaking, he released her hand, walked out, soon returning with Lin Ling, and closed the door.
Clearly, he intended to sleep here.
Lin Qiao glanced at him and didn’t bother further. If he said tomorrow, then it would be tomorrow; another day wouldn’t matter.
She held Lin Ling and got onto the bed, removing his outer garments. Seeing him sucking in his belly, she couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to pat his stomach, "I’ve seen your tummy before, no need to suck it in."
As she touched, Lin Ling’s round stomach revealed itself, and he, somewhat embarrassed, quickly covered it with his hands, "No, don’t look."
"Mommy’s bad."
A mischievous glint appeared in Lin Qiao’s eyes as she reached out to pinch his chubby belly. Lin Ling quickly backed away, only to be tripped by the blanket, tumbling backwards.
Falling on the bed didn’t hurt.
The woman giggled, "See? Talking bad about Mommy gets you punished." As she spoke, she helped him up.
"I didn’t talk bad about Mommy, it’s clearly Mommy..." bad.
