True Solution of the Sword Dao-Chapter 57 - 53 Task 1
Chapter 57: Chapter 53 Task 1
Chapter 57 -53 Task 1
Lin Fei couldn’t help but laugh and cry as she stood behind, then watched her mother haggle tenaciously with the shop assistant. After a moment of surprise, the other customers stopped paying attention to the commotion, but the shop assistant still maintained a somewhat forced smile while bargaining with her mother.
Lin You’s cheeks were flushed as she stood at the very back, occasionally glancing around embarrassingly as if afraid of being noticed. On the other hand, Lin Fei stood indifferently at the entrance of the shop, watching the customers coming and going.
As usual, it typically took Jiang Feng, her mother, about ten minutes to deploy her killer haggling tactics. This time provided Lin Fei with an opportunity to continue the analysis and calculations in her mind.
In the Qi Cultivation chapter, she was still at the second picture of The First Layer, First Realm. Breaking through to rank D was largely due to the fusion of former Sword Master Yan Shi’s mark. The abrupt integration of an almost perfected system of swordsmanship into Lin Fei’s still-forming system was undoubtedly an overwhelming advantage. So much so that now Lin Fei somewhat doubted whether the swordsmanship was Yan Shi’s or her own. Sword Heart Chain had become her strongest move. Yet the real practice effects of the Sword Dao True Solution were not as powerful as the additional ability of a second picture, which inevitably led to an inexplicable worry for Lin Fei.
“Perhaps I have already strayed from the right path,” she said to herself. The ability and the mark obtained from the Divine Beast Ming’s special powers had paradoxically become the main combat power of her current swordsmanship.
In recent days, she had been constantly reflecting. Her progress in daily cultivation was getting slower, while the practice of Sword Heart Chain was becoming more proficient. This abnormal contrast made Lin Fei realize her mistake.
“Through that hint of cool aura, I obtained an ability from the Divine Beast Ming. It led me into the misconception of pursuing combat power purely for its own sake. If I want to return to the true system of cultivation, finding that sense of coolness again is the only right way,” she thought.
Basic Sword Technique is merely to improve Lin Fei’s control and manipulation of the sword, to merge it with her intentions as one. That is the purpose of Basic Sword Technique, which Lin Fei was now beginning to understand. Rather than calling it basic, it could be regarded as practice, practice in swordsmanship. The last time she fought against a D-ranked powerhouse, the attack that contained the principles of Basic Sword Technique failed, proving that this level was ultimately too low for slightly higher-level opponents. From her perspective, both Sword of Death and Remnant Sword are just about grasping the extent of strength and speed to better enable the Sword Bearer to control the longsword perfectly.
To find the cool aura, the only clues could come from the two men who had been knocked down by Chen Feng last time. They had been arrested on suspicion of assault, but without concrete evidence, and it was likely that the police station would not have detained them longer and had probably released them by now.
Lin Fei had also asked Xiao Ling to collect information on these two men through various channels early on. After so much time, she wondered how long it would still take to receive any news.
After about fifteen minutes, Jiang Feng was contented to snag the jacket for a price of 700.
“Go try it on and see if it fits,” she said to Lin Fei.
Lin Fei complied, carrying the clothes into the dressing room. She tried it on, and it fit quite well. When she came out wearing it, Lin You still wore an expression of sour disdain.
“How does it look?” Lin Fei asked.
“Not bad, I’ve picked out a pair of pants for you too. Go try them on together and see how they pair,” Jiang Feng added, handing over a pair of pants to Lin Fei.
The jacket and pants seemed to be a set. After quickly changing into them, Lin Fei pushed open the door and stepped out again.
“Not bad, just the hair is a bit long,” Jiang Feng said as she stepped forward and gently brushed her son’s hair away from his forehead. Looking again, she suddenly became somewhat proud.
“I told you Feifei just needed to dress up a bit. Look, Xiao You, doesn’t your brother look completely transformed?”
Surprise was evident in Lin You’s eyes, but she wouldn’t let up at all in her words.
“Barely passable,” she remarked.
Lin Fei smiled and closed the door to the dressing room, standing in front of the mirror to take a look at his new attire.
Suddenly, an indescribable coldness rose from the bottom of his heart.
In the mirror, there was a young man with an almost cold demeanor and indifferent eyes.
“How is this possible?” he muttered softly, stretching out his hand and feeling the cold mirror surface with his fingertips.
In an instant, an extremely familiar figure emerged in his mind.
“Am I Lin Fei or Yan Shi?” He suddenly hung his head. The face in the mirror was the spitting image of Yan Shi’s visage.
“What’s the matter, Feifei?” Jiang Feng, who was checking out at the counter, noticed the situation and called out.
“Nothing,” Lin Fei forced a smile.
“Must be too happy to think straight,” Lin You immediately seized the opportunity to take a jab.
Lin Fei had no mood to argue, turned around, and entered the fitting room, changing out of all her clothes. She put on her original clothes.
“Didn’t I foresee this situation from the start of the fusion? What’s there to worry about?” Lin Fei laughed at herself in self-mockery. “Perhaps only by finding the origin of that cool aura can I completely get rid of such developments.”
With no mood left whatsoever, Lin Fei walked at the back, carrying the two pieces of clothing she had just purchased, her expression thoughtful.
Lin You walked ahead of him, and as they headed for the elevator, she squatted to retie her loose shoelaces. She didn’t expect Lin Fei to bump into her from behind.
“What are you doing?” Lin You stood up and shouted angrily.
“What’s wrong, Xiao You.” Jiang Feng turned to ask upon hearing the commotion.
“Lin Fei he… he kicked me… he kicked me…” Lin You’s face instantly reddened, as Lin Fei had just accidentally hit her bottom with his foot. Now, in public, she was too embarrassed to say the word. She just folded her arms behind her back, covering the spot where she was hit.
“It’s okay, let’s get in the elevator first,” Lin Fei said calmly.
“So if you say it’s nothing then it’s nothing? How can you be so dirty?” Lin You said loudly, biting her lip.
“Alright, alright, Xiao Fei didn’t mean it, Xiao You, stop making a fuss,” Jiang Feng said, noticing the other customers attracted by the scene, as she gently tugged at Lin You’s clothes and spoke softly.
“But what has he done!!” Lin You stamped her foot.
“I said, let’s get in the elevator first!” Lin Fei’s voice suddenly turned cold. He was already feeling enough annoyance inside, but Lin You was completely inconsiderate, only causing a scene.
“You’re even getting angry!!” Lin You widened her eyes in disbelief. Suddenly, she saw Lin Fei lifting his head briefly, their long, narrow eyes locking for a moment. A shiver of dread surged through Lin You, and she immediately quieted down.
At that moment, Jiang Feng hurriedly pulled and pushed Lin You into the elevator.
The mirrored walls inside the elevator clearly reflected everyone’s faces.
Lin Fei stood silently, his gaze fixed on the reflection just a palm’s breadth away in front of him.
In that reflection, a somewhat unfamiliar indifferent face stared back at Lin Fei with similarly narrow eyes.
“Ding!” The elevator reached the next floor, and a young girl in a white dress got out and turned to leave to the right. At the last moment, she glanced back at Lin Fei warily, perhaps thinking she ran into some troublemaker because of the tense and solemn atmosphere inside the elevator.
Lin Fei let out a soft breath. His gaze fell on a silver column opposite him, which from afar showed a distorted reflection of the entire scene inside the elevator, like a funhouse mirror.

In it, standing in the center of the elevator was a man in black clothes, with a longsword hanging at his waist.
“I clearly didn’t bring a sword with me,” Lin Fei suddenly felt a chill in his heart. He turned to look at the elevator wall beside him, still seeing the figure in black clothes with a longsword. What chilled him further was that even though he had already turned his head, the reflection continued to stare straight ahead without any movement.
“I am Lin Fei.” He suddenly lowered his head, emphasizing as he spoke, and gently closed his eyes. Underneath the long hair, his face slightly contorted. “Do you want my body?… Then come and get it.”
“What’s wrong, Feifei?” Jiang Feng asked, puzzled at Lin Fei talking to himself.
“It’s nothing. I just seem to have caught a cold,” Lin Fei lifted his head, his face filled with a gentle smile.
“Ding!” The elevator finally reached the first floor.
Lin You quickly walked out, followed by Jiang Feng.
Lin Fei paused, turned his head, and deeply gazed at the reflection beside him. Then, he decisively stepped out of the elevator.
The metal doors slowly closed. The scene on the elevator wall seemed to freeze, remaining there. The black-clad figure’s indifferent face showed no expression.
Suddenly, the entire image dispersed into countless wisps of black smoke in an instant.
