Triple X System-Chapter 57: New title, Noble heart!
[Ding! Congratulations user for successfully conquering Elise wood.] πππ¦β―πΈπ¦ππππ·β―π.πππ
[You have gained a new title!]
[Noble heart: once equipped grants user +20 reputation points amongst each royal nobles.]
βHuh! Thatβs new. Whatβs reputation points?β Kyle asked snow seeing the strange system notification, he had currently unlocked a new title and this one was different than others.
[Well reputation points are basically points you can use to buy castles, dungeons, towers, equipments for your territory and monsters.]
"Woah!" Kyle was shocked staring at the screen.
"Is something wrong?" Elise gently asked, seeing Kyle staring at nothing but thin air. He had been mumbling something to himself for the past minute, and it made her a bit scared.
"Itβs nothing.. I just remembered something." Kyle lied, he hadnβt yet told her about the system nor any of his women. He wanted to keep his trump card a secret as long as possible, only when there was a sacred bond between them would he reveal it to them.
"Forget about it.." Kyle softly said, slowly brushing Elise cheeks in his embrace. The latter had a look of concern on her face, but then shrugged it off as nothing. Tugging on to Kyleβs body more.
βPhew.. that was close.β Kyle sighed. He had almost been caught due to over excitement. Shaking his head he saw Elise snugging on his arm, it was already night time and all his other women had slept in the three other rooms. He guessed Lilith was also in one of the rooms, as he couldnβt yet sense her presence nearby.
βSnow?β
[Am still here.] Snow spoke in her normal monotone voice.
βWhat you said earlier is it really true?β Kyle still couldnβt believe it. The only points he knew were the points he got from having sex, and his exp and stats points.
β+20 reputation points from each royal household. What does that even mean?β He couldnβt believe the insane things, he could get from reputation points. Buying a castle, equipments, Monsters, Was that even possible? It would be too good to be true!
[Have i ever lied to you?] Snow said in an innocent tone, and Kyle could sense the mischievousness in it.
βWell.. sometimes.. I guess.β
[You! anyways itβs legit. Think of reputation points as coins or money. You can basically use it to access some special items in the system for your benefit.]
βMoney huh? I still donβt get.β Kyle telepathically said, he was still not yet satisfied with snowβs response.
[Youβre such a slow learner.. reputation as the name implys deals with a person status in the society.]
βJust like Elise?β
[Yes! take it like this, sheβs a princesses so her reputation in society is really high. It also goes for being a king, queen, and so on. The higher your reputation the higher your status.] Kyle was beginning to grasp snowβs words, as he continued listening to her.
[Think of it like this. youβll soon become demon lord, but before that you can also slowly build your reputation on some planets. It may not sound great, but it really is. youβll be able to expand youβre castles, fortify your territory with monsters and many more.]
βLike my own kingdom?β Kyle softly said.
[Bingo!] Snow excitedly said. she had thought sheβd have to keep on explaining to Kyle, but it seems like he finally understood.
βHehe~β Thatβs great Kyle chuckled. He didnβt believe his system would grant him such amazing rewards, as it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
βSo like I can really build castles and fortify it with equipments and monsters?β Kyle excitedly asked, just the mere thought of that sent shivers down his spine as it would make things a bit easier for him.
βWhat kind of monsters would the system grant?β Since he was a demon, heβd guessed the system would show monsters related to demons or something like that. He had little knowledge about beasts, so it would be tricky to make an assumption.
[Think of it like this.. some humans have beast companions either weak or strong, itβs all depending on how strong the bond contract is between a beast and itβs owner.] [The same applies for demons. beast and monsters arenβt that different, the only upper hand monsters have over beasts is they can use both mana and demon energies.] Kyleβs eyes widened when snow said this. He had suspected monsters would have attributes related to demons, but he didnβt think they could actually use both mana and demon energy.
It was a two in one combo! just like him, they wouldnβt have to worry about their demon energy, cause they also had mana as a reserve point.
[But thereβs a catch.] Snow abruptly said. [Sometimes some beasts likely brakes the bond with itβs user, depending on the contract made.]
[Take for example an epic tier beast, forms a contract with a human at the same tier. but once the beast evolves into the next tier, itβs most likely to brake the contract, and some might even go as far as to kill the owner.] It was a cruel world, and Kyle had accepted it. he had read of beasts forming contracts with humans back on earth, but he didnβt think it was real. He knew, some of the reasons beasts signed contracts with some humans was to help them evolve and grow stronger. But that wasnβt the case most times. in the fantasy books heβd read, it was the mc who sought to sign a contract with a powerful beast to help boost his power more. As good as it seemed, it was no easy task at all as the MCβs life would be at risk in order to complete the required tasks by the beast, hence proving himself worthy to the beast.
βSo that means I can get a monster?" Kyle excitedly asked snow in his head. Now that he got the idea of how helpful monsters and beasts were, he would seize the opportunity and get one.
[Haha! you.. a monster? You wouldnβt even last the first task.] Snow evily laughed loudly.
!Just watch me.β Kyle coldly said, he was going to prove himself to everyone.
[I donβt mean to burst youβre bubbles, but to make a bond contract with a monster isnβt easy at all.] Snow seriously said.
βI know. Youβd have to complete hard tasks and such. Iβve read it in the books!β Kyle rolled his eyes, seeing snow wasnβt taking him seriously.
[You donβt understand! monsters are more savages than beasts. To seek a contract with a low level monster, would mean youβre level is higher than itβs.]
[Monsters only seek one thing, and thatβs power. Unlike beasts they donβt see the potential in you, only what you have to offer. And they also feed off on some of their owners energy, to help them evolve.]
βFeeding off energy? Thatβs new.β He hadnβt read that in the novels. Kyle knew once a beast formed a contract with a human, an automatic bond would also be formed. They would be able to communicate with each other, as to how? Kyle had no clue! He guessed it was probably some magical way, they could understand each other.
It would be a gain to the both parties, as the owner power would rise to some extent along with his beast companion. But heβd never heard of a beast that fed off itβs owner to survive, that was basically suicide.
What if he was in the middle of a battle, and his beast suddenly started draining him of his energy? He didnβt want to picture that in his head, as the outcome didnβt look pretty at all for him.
βSo youβre saying getting a monster isnβt the best move.β Kyle muttered telepathically. Though having a monster was a good thing, but the resources in keeping it was another.
[Yes! excluding the fact that they are really hard to find, theyβre also very tricky to tame. as only power and food lurked in their minds.]
[For a demon to be able to control his monster, the monster would have to fear him. and for that to happen, itβs owner would either have a very powerful mind control ability or a dominion aura.]
βI see...β Kyle gently muttered inwardly.
βBut what if I got a beast companion instead?β He came up with an idea. Since monsters were literally hard to find and control, why not get a beast companion in the meantime. It wouldnβt be too stressful to tame, and it would also help him evolve more faster.
[Thatβs a good suggestion, but I wouldnβt recommend it. Humans form contacts with beasts because of their similarities, the same goes for demons and monsters.]
[A human canβt form a contract with a monster, because it simply has nothing to offer it. The main reason monsters form contracts with demons, is to help them evolve. as by only feeding from itβs contracted demon ownerβs energy, can it evolve.]
βWoah!β Kyle was taken aback. Beasts and monsters seemed similar, but they were quite different. A monster needs itβs masterβs demon energy to evolve and live, whereas a beast can simply absorb the mana around it. Though that would be a slow and annoying process, or they can simply eat the cores of lower level beasts then evolve. Some might even be bold enough, to kill a beast higher than their tier and eat itβs core.
[Monsters are very primordial and stubborn creatures. they can wait till eternity if they donβt find an owner which meets their standards, depending on how strong they are.] Snow slowly explained, every bit of detail she knew about monsters to Kyle.
To slowly wait till eternity, now that was a ballsy way to die. Kyle thought it was a stupid and pathetic way to die, if they didnβt absorb demon energy they would die for sure. Why not take their chances and form the contract for the meantime to preserve their life, then they could seek out their desired choice.
[It doesnβt work like that! The reason why monsters, patiently wait to form a contract is because, once the contract is formed the monster is bonded to the demon forever.] [Only when one of the other party dies, is the contract nullified. If itβs the monster that dies, the demon can easily go and form a contract with another monster. But the case is different for the monster, as it would again have to wait until it finds another suitor.]
Kyle could now understand the reason, why monsters waited patiently to find their right owner. They had to make sure it met to their needs, which meant he would have to be more powerful than them.
βThey must really have high endurance.β Kyle thought. To be able to wait that long wasnβt an easy cake, Kyle wasnβt even sure most beasts could last that long. No wonder they had to find an owner more powerful than them, as they would also have to feed from his energy to live and evolve.
βBut if they donβt feed on demon energy does that mean their tier would also be affected.β Thinking about it demon energy was what helped them live and evolve, so what would happen if they didnβt absorb it. It would basically mean they were starving themselves to death, their core would begin to dwindle.
It was just like when a human starved himself of food. Some could go a day or two, highest a couple of days but that was it. They would then have to eat or they would surely die of starvation, so the same should also go for monsters.
[Youβre right!] Snow cheerfully said, Kyleβs level of intelligence had improved to some extent, this past few days. [As humans need food to survive, so does monsters. they should be able to last a year or so, without absorbing demon energy.] Kyleβs eye lit up upon hearing this.
βA year without demon energy?β Hell, he wasnβt sure he could last a week without food.
[But when they have depleted the remaining amount of demon energy left in them, they then turn to their life core slowly taking from it. The number of months or years a monster can last without demon energy, is solely up to the monster will and strength.] Snow continued.
[When theyβve exerted their life core to the last bit of energy, then death is surely imminent.] Snow concluded. Hearing all this things left Kyle lost for words. On one part he understood their reason for waiting, and on the other he condemned it. It was all just out of his reach, as the laws of nature werenβt meant to be understood.
